High Peaks Villa is a stunning pet-friendly home in the town of Buxton, Derbyshire. This property is perfect for a large family getaway or a group of friends wanting a holiday, as it boasts an elevated garden, a private cinema room, and a balcony to enjoy the views. Spread across four impressive floors, this standout Victorian property blends period elegance with bold, design-led interiors to create a truly memorable retreat. The living/dining room forms the social heart of the home, featuring three generous sofas, an inviting armchair, and decorative fireplaces that pay homage to its heritage. The well-equipped kitchen caters effortlessly for group dining, while the lower ground floor transforms into a dedicated cinema room, complete with oversized bean bags for an immersive, atmospheric viewing experience when you fancy having that movie marathon. Outside, the tiered gardens are a standout feature. The ground-level courtyard patio provides an intimate space for morning coffees or evening chats, while the elevated rear garden delivers the wow factor, where you can unwind with sunset views. From here, a further pathway leads to a hidden upper area, a secluded, secret garden-style escape ideal for peaceful moments, children’s play, or a quiet drink surrounded by greenery. In Buxton, delve into the dramatic underground world of Poole’s Cavern & Country Park, admire the grandeur of the Buxton Opera House, and stand atop Solomon’s Temple at Grin Low for sweeping views across the Derbyshire landscape. Head to Macclesfield and discover the astronomical marvels at Jodrell Bank Observatory, wander through Tegg’s Nose Country Park, where panoramic vistas await, or explore the town’s heritage at the Silk Museum, a nod to its textile legacy. Region: The ultimate in “year-round” appeal, the Peak District offers countryside, picturesque villages and magnificent scenery. It touches upon six counties and encloses 555 square miles of open moorland, flowing rivers, and wooded dales.

Town: It was the constant 28 degrees centigrade of the bubbling blue waters of Buxton's eight thermal springs that originally attracted the Romans to the town. However it was during the 18th and 19th centuries, under the patronage of successive Dukes of Devonshire, that the Palladian splendour of the Buxton of today was designed and built - including the magnificent semi-circular Crescent, The Great Stable, Hall Bank, The Square, The Pavilion Gardens and The Opera House. Today visitors continue to enjoy these magnificent buildings and gardens, as well as the Opera House's full programme and annual festivals of music and arts. There is good walking close by with rugged peaks to the north and gentle hills and dales to the south and a number of pretty towns and villages are dotted throughout including Bakewell, Ashford-in-the-Water, Castleton and Edale. The stunning properties of Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are within easy driving distance and must be seen while visiting this area. A great base for exploring the Peak District.
