An airy cabin with high ceilings and lots of windows surrounded front and back by the Harris Neck National Wildlife Refuge. A photographer's dream. See the native waterfowl, or the hundreds of migrating birds of the Eastern Flyway. Alligators, a large colony of endangered Wood Storks, Roseate Spoonbills, Painted Buntings, Bald Eagles, Ospreys, deer, turkeys. A perfect place to cool off and catch a nap between morning and evening photo sessions. Only ten minutes from I-95, Exit 67. Literally one minute from the public saltwater ramp, then 15 minutes boat ride to the Intracoastal Waterway, Blackbeard, St. Catherine's and Sapelo Islands, Atlantic Ocean and beaches. See dolphins every boating trip. Great fishing for flounder, trout, redfish, head offshore for the big stuff....King and Spanish Mackeral, Grouper, Barracuda. Private bedroom, Queen size bed, plus a big common room with fold out sofa, dinette table, kitchen with full size fridge, sink, microwave, large toaster oven, coffee maker and dishwasher. The large screened in back porch (only) is shared with the other Suite. The Georgia coast is one of the most pristine natural areas on earth. Come see it for yourself ! (For some reason, some booking sites (Expedia, for one) describes this duplex unit as "Adult Only." This is not correct. Children are welcome, and children may occupy the separate rental space next door.)

About Ren Anderson
Ren Anderson purchased this Cabin in 2017
Why Ren Anderson chose Townsend
After hundreds of visits to the Harris Neck National Wildlife Refuge, I wanted to rebuild a fire-destroyed house that had become an eyesore, directly at the exit of the NWR. Every trip out, I'd see the ruins and wish there was something better there. After speaking with many visitors to the NWR, and neighboring area, I felt a small overnight-to -weekly rental would work, and be a better asset to the community than the sad ruins. With the benefit of bordering the NWR front AND back !!, the site is perfect for a traveler who wants to get away from the hustle and bustle, if only for a night. For the wildlife lover or photographer, it is a perfect retreat, to cool down in the middle of a hot day, and rest up for the next photo or viewing session. For a weekend fisherman it is perfect to access the ramp and coastal waters.

Really enjoyed the peace and quiet! Thanks Ren for such wonderful accommodations!
The NWR is a great bike ride....all level ground. :) There are no motels on this exit, and hey, ya gotta stay somewhere. Take at least a hour out of your day to ride through the Harris Neck National Wildlife Refuge. If you are a wildlife lover or photographer, take a day or two. If you like saltwater fishing, or just want a cruise to the most amazing wild beaches on earth, the ramp is only a minute away, and plenty of parking for your boat. The tidal marshes of the Georgia coast are a marvel on this great Earth. This cabin sits across from the exit of the NWR, with a screened in back porch that abuts even more of the NWR. Deer, turkeys, and lots more of God's creatures to view from the dining table. WiFi and TV. Large bedroom with Queen size bed, plus great room with a fold out couch, kitchen with full size fridge, microwave, toaster oven, sink, dishwasher, china and flatware. Fresh linens furnished. Five minutes from Belvedere Island Plantation or Delta Plantation. One minute from Barbour River Yacht Club.
