What a wonderful cottage, right in the middle of farm country. We arrived to a plate of flapjacks and a jar of yummy creamed honey, and with tea and coffee on hand. The host was very flexible with our check-in time, since we'd had an early flight to the area. The cottage had everything we needed, and we really appreciated the full, updated kitchen. Our host stopped in to be sure everything was as expected, and to fill us in on some details on operating the water heater since the furnace would not be needed in the warm weather. We found it unusual that windows in England don't come with screens, but leaving the windows open didn't matter as insects aren't as plentiful as they are here in Connecticut, US. Walks in the area are just lovely, especially the lane at the top of the hill, and we highly recommend the Fox and Goose Inn for dining as it's just a walk up the hill, too. We'd return on another trip to visit family in Chesterfield!!
