About this property

2 Bed in Caersws (oc-waa322)

Small families and couples will love a break away in this 500-year-old timber-framed farmhouse which retains much of its original charm and is in a beautiful, peaceful location. Lovers of wildlife will relish the opportunity to visit Llyn Clywedog which features a number of walking trails, as well as regular sightings of birds such as buzzards, red kites and ospreys.

You’ll notice the original features from the moment you step through the door, with stone flooring in the entrance hall. Configured in a reverse-level style, the living room is located on the first floor, complete with a flame-effect electric fire, two sofas and a TV. This room is filled with natural light from the skylight windows and doubles as a dining area, with a table located both inside and outside on the balcony. Downstairs is the kitchen, fitted with a cosy breakfast bar and ample space to prepare meals for all the family, split with an arched doorway into the main kitchen and the utility room. You’ll have the option to choose between two bedrooms, a double with a feature exposed stone wall and an en-suite bathroom, and a zip-and-link twin which can be made up as a king-size upon request. Completing the ground floor is a family shower room. Outside, there is a front patio which has furniture and a BBQ and you’re also welcome to explore the owners’ grounds which surround the property. For a little extra entertainment, there is also an outdoor games area with a tennis court, and a games room.

Hafren Forest (13 miles), home to the source of the River Severn is a fantastic area to visit, with an array of awe-inspiring waterfalls and wildlife to see along the waymarked trails. From here, you can also join the long-distance routes of the Wye Valley Walk and the Severn Way. Make the most of the countryside setting whilst staying at your property with a visit to the Elan Valley (21 miles), where there are a number of tranquil walking routes to embark on in the local area, as well as a number of perfect spots to stop off for a picnic.
