Located on the outskirts of a picturesque village on the northern fringes of the beautiful Northumberland National Park, this charming cottage invites couples or small families with a dog in tow for a peaceful getaway. There is a range of walking, hiking, and cycling trails from the doorstep, including Yeavering Bell. The bustling town of Wooler has a range of shops, bars, cafes and restaurants (5.5 miles), and visiting fabulous Ad Gefrin and the English whiskey distillery is a must-do. There are great walks from Wooler, including a section of St. Cuthbert’s Way. Explore Kelso’s market town (15.5 miles) on the Scottish Borders and enjoy a day at the races. Discover historic Berwick (17 miles), and Holy Island (22 miles). Explore the coast and magnificent Bamburgh Castle (21.5 miles).
Enjoy the tranquillity of the location when staying in this warm and welcoming cottage with stunning views of the local countryside and beautiful hills from inside and out. Enter the cottage via the courtyard door and walk in to the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with dual-aspect windows. There is a cupboard to store your walking boots and hang outdoor clothing. The lounge window at the front provides a fabulous view of Yeavering Bell and St. Gregory’s Hill on the edge of the Cheviot Hills. After your day’s adventures, relax and unwind on the two comfortable sofas sitting in front of the cosy wood burner, while a Smart TV beckons peaceful movie nights in. The kitchen/diner is well-equipped with everything you need to make a range of delicious meals and snacks. Enjoy sociable mealtimes and activity planning together at the dining table. The king size and double bedrooms are located on the first floor, both with high ceilings that enhance the sense of space and light. The well-appointed family bathroom completes the interior.
Outside, to the front of the cottage, there is an enclosed garden with garden furniture where you extend your day in the fresh air, admiring the stunning view while dining alfresco. There are often lambs skipping around in the fields, and the area is within the official Dark Sky Park for unforgettable star gazing. At the rear, there is an enclosed courtyard with bench seating where you can sit to take off your walking boots, while an outside tap is on hand for washing boots and dog paws. There is a second enclosed garden at the rear with more garden furniture and lovely views.
