About Wendy Cude
Originally I'm from New Zealand but I have now resided in Texas for 27 years. Married to Kevin and Mum to 4 grown children, we live on 240 acres of beautiful central Texas land that has been in the family since 1888. I have been an RN for over 35yrs and have for the last 15 yrs worked locally as a School Nurse. I love to cook or be outside gardening and looking after the many animals on the property. Recently we have become Apiarists and currently have 17 working bee hives.
Why Wendy Cude chose Hamilton
This land has been in my husbands family since 1888 and we built our forever home here in 2007. We were both raised on the land and love being outdoors and have a wonderful assortment of animals and pets. Kevin is an avid potter and woodworker and enjoys creating and building.
What makes this Cottage unique
Gourmet breakfasts or romantic baskets are an option, delivered to the cottage via picnic basket for an additional fee. Please contact host for further info if interested. Wellspring Cottage is located on a working ranch, and should guests be interested there is opportunity for interaction with the miniature goats and cows, while hosts are present. Access to the cottage is still under construction and parking may be off site at times, however there is a golf cart for guest use to transport luggage and get around the property. There is a large one acre pond a short walk from the cottage that has a cookhouse and fire pit for picnics if so desired. There is also a two person kayak available for guest use, but no life jackets are supplied. Swimming and fishing from the dock is permitted, the tank is well stocked with bass, catfish, perch and some crappie, on a catch and release basis. Bring your own fishing poles or contact host if you need supplies.

Rustic chic at its finest!
The property was secluded and the cabin was amazing. The attention to detail was incredible. The setting just promoted rest and relaxation. No TV to distract us from our time away. Everyone made us feel so welcome, including the family pets! This definitely makes our list of top getaways! We will be back!
GORGEOUS getaway, beyond amazing!!!!
Highly recommend this beautiful cottage! Owners go above and beyond for every need/want! No matter the occasion this place won’t disappoint!!
Hill country at its finest
Got the R&R we needed. It was hard to leave. Will be back next year or sooner. Have told all our friends too. Wendy was the perfect host attention without intrusion.
It's a god thing...
Wendy and Kevin,
We were looking forward to this get away for our first Wedding Anniversary. Let me start off by saying, the welcoming crew was an added bonus. My wife is a city girl and has never been up close to a deer. So for her to feed your pet sent her to the moon. Y'all are a wonderful host and the cottage was quaint, cozy and beautifully designed. Jo Anna and Chip has nothing on you two.
Second, what a wonderful spring feed pond, I caught 3 bass and lost several. This was an added bonus for me as I don't make enough time for my favorite hobby.
There must be something in the water, because that claw foot bathtub was so relaxing it took all my cares and stresses away. I forgot to take my blood pressure medicine, but it didn't matter because it was 137 over 79 the lowest its been in years.
We will be back as there is something special about your Wellspring Cottage,
Thank you Ann & John
This is a one of a kind spot! The home owners went out of their way to make our experience special. Their property is absolutely beautiful and so peaceful. We will definitely be back!
This property and hosts were one of the BEST we have ever experienced. The cottage was so lovely and comfortable, and the hosts, Wendy and Kevin went ABOVE and BEYOND to make us feel welcome and comfortable. We had amazing honey butter and bread waiting for our arrival along with fresh flowers! Wendy even had a touching birthday card waiting for me.
I highly recommend this little slice of heaven to anyone wishing to experience comfort and nature all mixed together into one. Hope to return soon!
Favorite places to eat at around the community are Crossfire Cafe at Circle T arena, Central Perk bistro, Wenzel's Lone Star Meat and Dutchman's Hidden Valley. Stop by the Farmer's market for fresh veggies and baked goods. Visit Ramsey's art gallery on the Square. Walk or ride the 3 mile bike trail that runs through the center of town and check out Past Tyme's antiques and Queen Bees old treasures. Drive 20 miles north to Hico to visit Wiseman's House of Chocolate and Hico Popcorn Works, along with the many antique stores the community has to offer. Or spend the afternoon at Magnolia Market in Waco, just 60 minutes away, or Homestead Heritage's craftsman village at Elm Mott a short way north of Waco. A little more locally, branch out and visit the Veldhuizen Cheese Farm in Dublin where they are making both cows milk and sheep milk cheese. Come home and relax on the front porch swing, and once the sun goes down climb the hill behind the cabin and watch the Milky Way makes its magnificent debut.
