⸻
This comfortable studio annexe is set directly on the Mendip Way in the Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Access to the path is immediate - from the driveway, it’s a short walk across the neighbouring National Trust car park and straight onto the route.
The studio is a simple, well-equipped space for walkers, couples and solo travellers who want a convenient base for exploring the Mendips. It’s particularly well suited to guests who plan to spend their days out walking and their evenings relaxing somewhere quiet and comfortable. A breakfast basket is provided, making early starts easy.
⸻
Facilities & Layout
The annexe is a studio layout (bed and living space combined) with a private ensuite shower room. It does not have a full kitchen, but includes everything needed for simple meals and breakfasts:
• Fridge
• Kettle, toaster and sink
• Crockery, cutlery and glasses
• Tea, coffee, sugar and milk
Breakfast basket included, with:
• Yogurt
• Fresh fruit
• Bread
• Butter
• Jams and marmalade
This setup works well for guests who enjoy eating out locally or keeping things straightforward during their stay.
⸻
Perfect for Walkers
• Direct access to the Mendip Way
• Easy access via the neighbouring National Trust site
• Ideal for section walks, circular routes and longer hikes
• Breakfast provided before heading straight onto the trail
• Comfortable, quiet space to return to after a day outdoors
⸻
Outdoor space
The garden is shared with the hosts and guests are welcome to explore and enjoy it. There are various benches and seating areas, including a dedicated seating area just outside the studio for guest use.
⸻
Location
The studio is ideally located for exploring the West Mendip Hills, with direct access to:
• The Mendip Way and Crook Peak
• King’s Wood, a neighbouring National Trust site
• The Strawberry Line, a traffic-free walking and cycling route
• Winscombe Drove (0.2 miles) for access to Rowberrow Warren mountain biking trails
The villages of Axbridge and Winscombe are reachable on foot via the Strawberry Line or within a five-minute drive. Cheddar is approximately a 10-minute drive away. Nearby pubs include The Sidcot Arms (0.6 miles) and The New Inn and The Woodborough Inn (around a one-mile walk).
As the property is next to a popular National Trust site, the area can be busier during the day, particularly at weekends, but is generally much quieter in the evenings.
