Beautiful family friendly spot in Ludlow

We were a group of 8 with 4 adults and 4 children under 12 renting during the popular President’s Day week. This house is lovely and had more than enough space for everyone. The house is 4 floors, the main floor is the second floor and has a very spacious open kitchen, dining and livingroom. I would have loved a larger dining table, they definitely have room for it, but we made the 6 seater work. The downstairs (1st floor or finished basement) is a fun open room with two twins and a full size futon, bathroom with shower and washer and dryer. It has a door to the outside and part of the driveway pulls up to that door. The 4 kids happily took over that space which gave them lots of room for all their stuff. We realized at the end that the outside door doesn’t fully close if you don’t pull it tight and wait for the click so be sure to double check at night if you have kids sleeping there. Also the door unlocks from the inside when you turn the knob, no deadbolt, so I wouldn’t recommend for smaller kids that may get confused at night and accidentally walk outside. The 3rd and 4th floors are bedrooms. The 3rd floor is two bedrooms that share a full bath and the 45th floor is a loft master bedroom with beautiful views of Okemo mountains and a private bathroom. The stairs open right to the bedroom, there is no door doe that room, which didn’t bother us but is worth noting. The only issue we had was the dryer was very slow to dry, a medium load of of towels took about 3 rounds of drying at high heat for 70 mins. This was the first time we stayed at a property managed by Vacasa and I was very happy with the experience. We called about the dryer and the sent someone over that day. The property management company was very responsive and the tech gave me is number for any follow ups. He cleaned the vent on the outside and inside and it moderately improved the dryer experience enough for us to make it through the week. Vacasa also makes the check in/checkout process very simple, no fusing with sheets, towels or long list of check out requests. The location was great. Less than 10 mins to town and the grocery store and restaurants and maybe 10 mis (prob less) to Okemo. The kids especially loved that they had a yard to play in the snow with sleds. They were outside everyday. I would highly recommend this property. We would have rebooked for the same week next year however the price is 2K more for 2024 - but honestly good for them.

Property is located quite close to Okemo (though closer to 10 min than 5 as noted in thr listing). It was relatively clean - some of the bed linens were not completely clean (hairs and other lint/fuzz found). However, the listing doesn't clearly note that this property is on a hill (please take note - the driveway can be a little tricky with snow/ice conditions). For a property in VT, where there is meaningful snow and ice, it only had a small container of salt (terribly insufficient), and the paths to the door were not cleared at all. The snow clearing services were minimal given location, and we had to do a lot of shoveling. In addition, the manage team's reaponsiveness was non-existent and provided no guiddance or help - woeful. We made the best of it but it could have been much, much better with the appropriate client service and property management.

Cozy and close to Okemo

The property is recently renovated so everything is relatively new and in good condition. The unique design choice of using cedar for the walls, floors and ceiling was a bit off putting initially but we got used to it. There was a small issue with the hot tub, but the host responded very quickly and the issue was resolved the next day. Will definitely consider staying here for the next Okemo ski vacation.

Incredible place

This house was amazing! We absolutely loved how large the living space was and how clean and neat the place was. The hot tub was awesome for after a day of skiing. Super close to the mountain.

The perfect family getaway

This house was so perfect for what we needed - plenty of places to sleep, a huge common space, a hot tub, great outdoor space and close to an adorable downtown. We were there for the Vermont50 ultra marathon as 2 of us were running but we could definitely see ourselves booking again during the winter to be close to the mountain for skiing. Did I mention it’s a beautiful home?! Gorgeous!

Family Vacation

The house we rented was large and beautiful situated and a tree filled lot. The house had all the amenities including a hot tub and was very clean and neat. I would highly recommend this property.

Andover Retreat Review

This property has been recently built from a foundation of an older house. It material is treated wood and has a modernized look. The house has plenty of rooms if you are having five or more people staying. A great and open kitchen and living room that is great to socialize and make food. The basement is one of the coolest locations in the house a great benefit for those who need cooler temperatures. The rooms are spacious and with plenty of cabinets to place and store items. The deck view is beautiful as it offers a great morning view of the mountains and many valleys. There are a couple minor things that one should look out for. One the showers are heated by propane so one will have to take turns showering on each floor as to not have one floor with hot water while the others cold. Their are no curtains or blinds for the winds in the bed rooms so the sun will unfortunately wake you up early in the morning. Bring portable curtains or detachable blinds . Lastly the trash binds are a-little small and can be prone to critters trying to get at them. Overall it is a great place that is peaceful and quiet would definitely recommend. 8.5/ 10

Very Spacious Home

Great location, about 10 min drive to Okemo. Wonderful space for children and family. Only problem was you cant run more than 1 shower at a time or run laundry while someone sin the shower. Would have been great to have a fire place.

Warm and peaceful retreat

This property was such a welcome break. We got to enjoy nearby trails and return to jump in the hot tub. The view of Okemo Mountain was the perfect start to our morning. Would definitely come back

Ludlow August Vacation

We had an absolutely fabulous stay. The home was spectacular and equipped with everything for our stay. The 1,850’ elevation made for comfortable days and cool nights. We watched the Perseid Meteor Showers from the deck, ventured to Buttermilk Falls for a refreshing swim, hiked the Lost Mine Trail, kayaked at Rescue Lake seeing a bald eagle and loon and grabbed a few brews and food at the highly recommended Outer Limits Brewing Co. it was an outstanding vacation.

Great weekend getaway!

I booked this trip for an April weekend getaway with friends. The house was very clean and fully stocked with sleeping and kitchen supplies. The house was fantastic for everyone to have their own space, yet all come together in the living areas. The view from the top floor was amazing and the outdoor areas were perfect for using the hot tub and playing yard games. We are certainly looking forward to future stays just like this one!

Awesome place in a great area that that made our New Years better than we could have imagined. About 5 min drive from the downtown and beautiful views from the bedrooms. We can’t wait to go back!

Enjoyable ski trip

The property is secluded, but less than ten minutes from Okemo and Ludlow. The rooms were large and spacious, but the furnishings could be improved upon: dressers had seen better days and we chose not to use them, thus ended up picking around our luggage for clothes. The beds in the three upper floor bedrooms were only doubles, which made it a tight squeeze for couples and very uncomfortable for our six feet tall men. Queen beds should be a minimum. And for those of us who enjoy sleeping in, we could not, there were no blinds or curtains on any of the bedroom windows and unwillingly woke up around six a.m. each day because all the windows were massive over-sized ones that took up more than two thirds of the wall. Our four kids loved their stay, they took over the basement which had two singles and a futon. Okemo itself is a great mountain, lots of great trails, good ski school. Next time, we would go off peak to avoid the crazy crowds. When it's busy, the small lodge area at the Clock Tower entrance is bursting at the seams, there's not enough seating space as other much smaller resorts would have.

Ski weekend getaway

Beautiful home and nice set up. Heat in the basement and the bathroom was poor. Curtains to block light would’ve been nice. Toilet clogged. A door to the loft would’ve been nice. Direct TV was not working. Otherwise we had a lovely stay. Thank you!
