Great house for family ski vacations in the Cottonwood Canyons

Perfect for our ski vacation

The property is as shown in the listing, the location was in a quiet neighborhood and easy to get to, close to stores and restaurants, hot tub was clean and in working order. The owner was super helpful and easy to contact, he even came over to help with our tv problem, excellent service. We will consider this for next year.

House is fine. Hot tub is DIRTY.

First the good: the house is as described. 4 bedrooms. 2.5Ba. mostly clean. Lots of useful amenities like laundry detergent and salt/pepper. about 30 minutes to Snowbird/Alta. Also, we asked to check out late, and this request was honored with a reasonable additional fee. The bad: the hot tub was low on water, and quite dirty. filling it and waiting for it to get hot meant we lost use of it for one of our nights. Also, the grass area around the hot tub was full of cigarette butts and dog poop. so gross. It seems the cleaning staff doesn't bother to go outside. There is dog hair everywhere. I have a child with a dog allergy, who was uncomfortable for the whole stay. Given it was a holiday weekend, we just dealt with it. this is unconscionable and should have been clear in the listing. I would not describe the place as elegant. lots of stuff is falling apart- and several people in our party found the beds uncomfortable. the mattresses are old and cheap. the place needs a good deep clean- there a many serious pockets of dust- especially around the lesser accessed parts like entertainment cabinets. We regularly book homes in the area for ski weekends. There are many better choices. I will NOT book this place again.

Concerning VRBO - Buyer Be Cautious

Our Host chose to text all key information to access his property. Disappointment and Frustration started with Host sharing incorrect 4digit garage code to access property at agreed start time. It was Christmas 2022 with all the airlines troubles. I texted Jason (host) that I would be delayed arriving Monday 12/26 at/after 3pm. My Best Friend (Dan) and my Girlfriend’s Kids arrived at / arounr 3:30. The Code Jason shared did not work and family were stranded outside for 4 hours plus. I was traveling in via Train (due to airline issues) and informed Host, Jason via phone and text. Jason refused to communicate to my friends. After arriving out of remote mountains, he left VM that he sent wrong garage code and lefy correct one on voicemail. Meanwhile; 4 hrs later; my family and Friends were stuck. In phone call and txt; Jason apologized and said he would work to credit us for this setback. 3 business days since our departure, he has not replied to my txt or calls to align on proper credit. I giveup being fair and now will share with future VRBO renters - BEWARE! Overall decent house but only 2.5 baths, a stretch for large groups. Sheets in many beds stained. Owner left no basic VRBO book of basic guidelines. Garbage was pilled up in cans outside with no passdown on what was garbage day. Host does not sanitize any drawers / areas like I am accustomed in other VRBOs. No sock drawer for me in master bedroom but disturbing items in too drawers. Host Dog (s) damage all around home - broken blinds; scratched doorways. Overall poor communication from host especially after he caused early check-in setbacks and failed to reply to me. We did all the VRBO basics of stripping beds and towels; starting laundry ( emptying all garbage; etc. Jason may be new to VRBO buy now studying his former tenants…. Concerned he will try to blame me. I am very upset Jason did not man-up for his mistake in sending wrong log-in numbers and not replying to group txt while Inwas dealing with my own travel issues….. Renter’s beware! Jason left us stuck with his inbetween TV service transformation and upstairs Master Bedroom TV not functional w/ no service coverage. Also; like other renters cited; hot tub outside was dirty and not recently serviced. Many beer cans and cigarette butts in all corners. Really poor conditions for us to start with in family Christmas Reunion. very disappointed Jason did not follow-up with “credit “ .

The owner is completely irresponsible and the house will make you want to take antibiotics after you leave. First of all, I am very reasonable and understanding. There was no contact for check in until two minutes till 4. The phone numbers listed are not active. ( owner said he changed them and vrbo didn’t update). Not true. I was in panic mode all day trying to find a replacement home thinking this was a scam due to no response. House looks nice until you see owners clothes in all the draws, especially the hamper full of his dirty clothes. Horrifying adult toys were left in a the master dresser, found in plain sight. This was mentioned in a review 5 years ago!!!!! Dog and cat hair on everything. Other things, broken recliners in living room, lack of normal glass ware. A broken dishwasher that was discussed in other reviews. Master bath mirror partially missing so you can view the personal items in the cabinet. The most gross moment was when I removed the sheets and pillow cases and saw the filthy stained pillows and really stained mattress. On the nice side, owner did fix the fireplace asap and even wash the dishes that were piling up( had no soap or dishwasher). I write this not to hurt the owner but to help other renters . I don’t think they would even publish the horrific photos.

Great for 8

Our group of 8 from Virginia used this is our base for a week of skiing, shopping and eating (we had three non-skiers on the trip)! Location is very convenient to the Cottonwood resorts as well as SLC airport, local restaurants and shopping. Jason was a great host and very responsive to any questions we had. The layout of the house is great for a large group.

Lovely home, lovely hosts.

We stayed here for six nights. The place is very roomy and comfortable. Our beds were very comfortable. We had everything we needed in the kitchen and bathrooms. There was plenty of towels and fresh linens for us to use. Location was very convenient as we were pretty close to a big supermarket and also about 20 minutes away from downtown. Host was very kind and sweet! He communicated with us properly and made sure that we had everything we need and that we were comfortable.

Not recommended that you stay here

For the first 2 days the A/C did not work. It was 85+F in the house at night. Landlord said he'd rebate us a nights stay and has subsequently reneged. One couple actually ended up sleeping in the garage because it was cooler there! The landlord has since tried to blame it on us. There are a few other issues for people who may be safety conscious....like the front steps coming away from the foundation, the back deck railings very unstable, a very dirty grill and the living room ceiling needs repair.

NOT NEW!!!!

Our family stayed in this Sandy VRBO June 2018. This could be a beautiful home, but it’s certainly not new...probably 10 years old and falling apart. There were so many advertised amenities that were not available during our stay and reviews that indicated we would been staying in a well appointed clean home and sadly this was not the case, we truly felt mislead by the listing. Upon arrival the lawn was nicely manicured, beds were made and clean towels were available. Unfortunately beyond this it was a disappointment around every corner. The home was not fully cleaned prior to our stay and a deep cleaning has not been done in years. Bathrooms were only surface cleaned, garbages not emptied, kitchen counters, appliances and floors filthy dirty with hair and sticky spots, dirty towels left hanging and a load of dirty towels left in the laundry room, active wasp colony living in the BBQ and the hot tub unsanitary with a disgusting pink film caking the sides and floating on the surface. In addition railing is missing or loose on both the front & back decks, the front step is dangerous for any visitors, the dishwasher is on its last leg and leaking, and the master shower smells like dirty gym socks. The condition of this home is truly sad, but if given some TLC this house could be a nice place to stay.

Great stay at Jason's house.

Loved the big screen during the Masters, loved the hot tub! Kids liked the house more than the nice townhome we had earlier in the week in Park City. Great place. Near lots of restaurants and stuff. Easy drive to mountains.

Salt Lake City Ski Trip

My party and I really enjoyed our week long ski trip and our stay at the house. We had 5 people in our party. This house had everything we needed: comfortable furniture, comfortable beds, spacious rooms, very nice kitchen loaded with cooking utensils, large screen TV in the LR, nice hot tub, 2 full bathrooms and a 1/2 bathroom, large closets, the WiFi service worked great. The house was very clean, very comfortable and everything was functional. The owner was very responsive and checked with me via text a couple of times during the week to make sure everything was OK. This house will be at the top of my list for next years ski vacation.

It is an amazing house very beautiful and cozy bed

This house is 5 star, very spacious, clean, and comfortable. Price is very good, lower than competition and is worth every penny. The bedrooms are spacious with comfy pillow top mattresses and the hot tub so convenient and relaxing. I would stay here every time I come to Utah. Awesome place. Its everything its described and would recommend this place to anyone.

This house is so much nicer then the pictures. It's a straight shot to Alta and Snowbird. Hot tub was a major plus after skiing. Comfy couches, with the fireplace in the living room. We highly recommend this house!

Lovely holiday stay

Gorgeous well appointed cozy home. The owner was extremely accessible and accommodating. Would highly recommend this home for a family ski vacation. Close to ski bus stop for easy up and down to resorts.

Beautiful 4 Bedroom 2 1/2 bath Entire home in the heart of the Rockies with less than 2 minutes to I15 freeway access both north and south to either Provo or Salt Lake City. Ideal for couples, ski vacations, families with or without kids, corporate business trips, relocation housing, or convention groups. Perfect home for the winter. Fully furnished, hand scraped mahogany kitchen floor, granite counter tops throughout. Knotty Alder wood trim, and doors throughout the home. Beautiful cozy home. I actually built this home with my father from ground up, and it means allot to me. There is special care in the home with many added features and upgrades which make it very pleasant to stay. It is conveniently located in the heart of the city and close to freeway access and the mountains. It is the perfect home for any occasion.

The entry way is beautiful as well with the waterfall feature right above the stair way as you come in. It is all custom designed and made with extra loving care.
