Beautiful Soundfront Home with Currituck Lighthouse View

Enjoy a relaxing vacation at this beautiful waterfront home w/ stunning panoramic views of the Currituck Sound & Lighthouse (Currently the ONLY rental home in Coinjock that is actually right on the Currituck Sound not across the road for water access.) Listen to the water while napping in the shaded hammock. Watch the sunrise w/ your morning coffee. Take an outdoor shower (with hot water) while overlooking the sound.

A 150' lighted dock & gazebo are perfect for romantic evenings on the water. You can just feel your tension melt away.

Fun is on the menu for everyone in the game room w/ a pool table, air hockey, Foosball, Ping Pong, dart board, electronic pinball table (with lots and lots of extra tables) and two unique Arcade Units w/ several games and plenty of seating. You can play board games, puzzles, shuffleboard (with bowling pins), corn hole or cards. A deck, sun room, grill, picnic/patio tables allow for great meals & conversation. Boating, fishing, crabbing, bicycling, & swimming right in your own backyard! A private boat ramp lets you put your boat or jet ski in, & just tie it at the dock. You can fish or crab right from the dock & use the fish cleaning station w/ running water to prepare your catch for cooking

You are close enough to spend the day at the beach (25 minutes by car), and all of its attractions, then come back to a peaceful and quiet setting. The only sounds you hear at night are the water and mother nature at her best, Star gazing is phenomenal, as you are away from the city lights.

This is a great place for hunters in the fall. The Dismal Swamp is just 20 minutes away. Check the NC Wildlife web site--linked at the bottom of this page--for licensing information.

For those of you who like to relax with all of the conveniences of home, there are 6 smart TVs, 4 Blue ray players, Wii and Playstation 2 consoles. Streaming services and antenna on the TV’s allow you to keep up with the news, if you care to know. You can bring your laptop computer & access the internet (200Mbps download) with our wireless connection. This is truly a get-a-way worth trying!

Don't be fooled by other rentals in Coinjock claiming to be water front when you really have a public road between you and the water access, if you even have any water access at all.

Newer carpet and linoleum through out, and new dock / gazebo added in March of 2017. (Some of the photos may have the old dock pictured in them). New bulkhead added March of 2018. (Some of the photos may have the old bulkhead pictured in them)

In an effort to be a good steward to the environment and reduce our carbon footprint, solar panels were added to the house in 2022.

5 streaming cameras with audio capability are on the property. These cameras are for monitoring weather conditions (specifically flooding at the property) and unauthorized access to restricted areas. 3 of the cameras are on the outside (1 facing the main gate, 1 facing the neighbor's boat ramp and gate onto the property (on the right), and one facing the water and dock in the back of the house.) The other 2 cameras are in storage areas unaccessible to guests. For your privacy, there are no cameras in the living areas of the property.

The house was just as advertised. It was stocked with everything you could think of and the extras were outstanding. Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate. I would give the house 5 stars, but due to the weather, the overall trip didn't qualify for the same. Due to a Nor'easter and then blowing drizzling rain, we weren't able to enjoy all that the outside had to offer. We actually left before the end of the week. The host responded to all questions right away and made sure we had everything we needed.

We have always stayed at the beach, preferring oceanfront, but we changed it up this year and stayed at the sound. We all loved it! The house was so well equipped, and so well set up for relaxing, or being adventurous, whatever you were in the mood for. Our dog LOVED the fenced in yard. The kids loved crabbing, biking (including going down the dead end street), basketball, and playing some video games. We loved the amazing views from the yard and porch and basically lived on both the whole time we were there. We met several neighbors and they were all so extremely nice and friendly. I only wish we had a little less windy of a week so we could enjoy the kayaks more, and wish it was a little closer to drive to the beach, but even with the drive, we still went several days and explored some new-to-us areas which was fun! Our kids are already asking to come back again.

An absolute gem!

Awesome spot! The location is right on the sound—such a perfect view—and it’s just a quick drive to the OBX beaches for a day trip. We loved using the kayaks and paddle boat, and the dock was great for swimming. The game room was a total bonus, and it’s separate/under the main living and bedroom area, which was nice. The whole property is fenced, which was perfect for our pup to roam safely. The owners were super responsive and really thought of all the little extras—K-Cups, extra toothbrushes, trash bags, device chargers—you name it. Kitchen’s fully stocked with everything from pots and pans to spices. The neighbor is super friendly and brought us fresh caught fish!You really only need to bring beach towels, food, toilet paper, paper towels, and your personal stuff. Everything else is covered. Would definitely stay again!

Wonderful Rental

The house and property were perfect! Everything was clean, kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans that were in great condition, night lights in bathrooms and hallway. All games, bikes, life vests, etc were in great condition. The dock was gorgeous and having steps (instead of a ladder) was great with young kids (4 and 7). We really enjoyed the enclosed sunroom area…kids and adults spent a lot of time out there taking in the gorgeous sound view. This place really felt like a home and not just another vacation rental. The owners pride of ownership really shines through! The area was peaceful and quiet. We hardly saw another person all week (except for the friendly neighbor, Ron). If you are looking for peaceful relaxation and family bonding then you should book this place. You won’t be disappointed!

The location and size of the property is amazing. It’s just getting a little worn out, the game room needs a bit of attention. Controllers aren’t working, air hockey table needs some help and just a general updating and service on what should be a phenomenal room. The shower head was a cheap hand held with a plastic fixture (which broke and my husband taped it up so we could still shower). Also only 1 roll of toilet paper is provided per bathroom, for 6 guests. We had to provide our own, after a thorough search for more, we finally questioned the owner about it and were told it was in the listing. I reviewed the listing and couldn’t find it. These are really just a few minor inconveniences in what was a really good vacation.

Coinjock on the Currituck

We wanted to stay near the outer banks without staying at the beach. This sound side house was perfect. We fished on the pier the whole trip and made day trips to outer banks. Local dining was outstanding! Everything was great!

Relaxing escape

I took my kids for a quick getaway to enjoy the outdoors and spend some quality time together. House was great, location was perfect and in a quiet area and there were lots of things to do with all of the games and amenities. We would definitely return!

Perfect getaway

This home and location was absolutely perfect—peaceful, scenic, and super comfortable. The location right on the sound was stunning. We loved waking up to the water views and it felt like our own little piece of paradise.The game room was such a fun bonus! Whether we were playing pool, ping pong, board games, or just hanging out, it made our downtime really enjoyable. The whole place was thoughtfully designed.Our host was responsive and the neighbors were so friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. We can’t wait to come back!

Just amazing.

This place was absolutely perfect for the entire family! The kids had plenty of things to do between the game room, board games, basketball, corn hole, PS2, Wii, and much more! We loved this home. So relaxing and fun. Highly recommended.

Perfect and peaceful

The house is spacious and comfortable. The game room was fun. The dock is amazing and where we spent 90% of our time. The neighbors were very friendly and gave us fresh fish and steamed crabs. 🦀

Great vacation!

Lots to do, we got the Kayak supplement and used them everyday. The game room was awesome. The neighbors were very friendly and shared their catch of the day with us. Fishing and crabbing were fun, great views and fun times. The hosts thought of everything! We would love to visit again!

Picturesque views

This property had everything we could have wanted. The house was extremely clean, the kitchen had every pot, knife, cup, etc that you could want. The beds were comfortable and everything was well labeled and thought out. We made good use of the game room because we did have a lot of rain, which made the driveway flood, so our water shoes came in handy. Kayaking was a lot of fun and easy to access. The fishing pier was lovely, and we tried our luck daily. Not too much going on in town but it was a 30 minute drive to the Outer Banks so we took advantage of the goings on there quite often. Overall it was a wonderful relaxing vacation.

Think small, quant and quiet

If youre the kind of person that likes to be where the action is, doesn't like "nature" (bugs, birds, etc.) this is not the place for you. If you're the kind of person who likes to sit by the water and relax with nothing by the sound of the breeze around you, yet also be close enough to the ocean you can be there in under 30 minutes, this place is great. We had 3 teens/preteens, who are very different from eachother with us. Only once did we have them come to us trying to figure out what to do and even then it was only after being in the house for 10 hours because of a major storm that came through. They played board games, pinball, ping pong, went on the water craft, swam, and even played crochet. Some of the games are older and not functioning but there was still plenty to do. We found out crabbing isn't what it used to be thanks to new vegetation in the sound. We still caught some but not much. About 3-6 per day. One thing we had planned on, that didnt work out the way we initially planned, was one person was going to sleep on the sofa in the game room. However, the game room is not accessible via the inside of the house, it is only accessible via an outside entrance under th enclosed porch. It didn't impact our stay but could impact others if they weren't expecting that. Over all a great vacation. Even the family member who hates warm weather and beaches wants to go back.

Gorgeous property with so much to do that you don’t need to go anywhere else! The sunrises are amazing! Owners are communicative and lovely to work with. We will definitely be staying here again!

So much fun!

The house is great. Clean, comfortable beds, and the best porch views! Everything works. The game room is a nice option, especially if the weather isn’t ideal. Location is quiet and accessible. We enjoyed day trips to Corolla and Kitty Hawk, which are 1 hr and 30 mins away, respectively.

The Twifords, Sam and Jodi, (owners) both grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio. We moved to the the NC/VA area in 1993. We had 3 beautiful daughters Rachel, Julia, and Samantha (spaced over an 11 year period) We had always wanted a place on the water, a place to enjoy with our children but within a manageable driving distance.

In 2003 we stumbled upon this amazing location. After purchasing the property, we found we were unable to use it as much as we hoped and the expenses of maintaining a waterfront property were much more than we had anticipated.

We decided to share it with others. We had never overseen a vacation rental before, and found it to be quite a learning experience. For the first several years, we operated at a loss. Once we started making a little money on the property, we decided to reinvest most of the money into improving the property, equipment, and overall experience for our guest.

As you review the photos and read the descriptions of the property, you will see we are always updating, upgrading and adding more activities to the property.

Many of the updates have come about from us simply staying here over a weekend and wishing that something was different or added. For example, we added a new family member in 2023, Nova, our German Shepard. It only took 1 weekend of my wife and I sharing the bed with Nova and we upgraded the queen beds to king beds.

We strive to have all the amenities you would have at home, (fast wifi, plenty of usb ports, lots of dishes, utensils, spices, and loads and loads activities for the whole family to enjoy). Our goal is to make our home feel like your home as soon as you walk in the door. All you need to bring to have a great time is your family, clothes, food and toiletry items, everything else is there for you.

Breath taking views, and tranquil days, relaxing to the sounds of nature and the waves lapping against the shoreline made us fall in love with this property. Since opening our home to guests in 2003, we have had several guests stay with us year after year, some traveling as far Europe to make that annual pilgrimage. Be careful as not lose yourself in the peaceful tranquility . So far, two families who have succumb to the allure of the island and have found themselves permanent residents, just a stone's throw from here, where it all began.
