This carefully maintained cottage is ideal for family vacations from spring through fall: less than 350 yards from sandy beaches on Cape Cod Bay, an ideal spot for swimming, kayaking, windsurfing, and matchless shell-fishing. Stroll home for lunch, a late afternoon nap, or back to the western-facing beach for the beautiful sunsets. Close to art galleries, fresh water ponds, restaurants, and a short drive to ocean beaches in the isolation of the National Seashore.
The house has one bedroom on the first level, and three on the second floor (one of which is ideal for a nursery), with a 160 sq. ft. deck off the master bedroom; two baths, and a recently renovated kitchen. A new Vermont Castings gas stove keeps the evenings warm when needed. At the rear, a patio and outdoor shower are linked to the upper deck. The wooded setting is perfect for quiet relaxed living.

About Arthur Valk
The McCarthy family has vacationed here in Wellfleet for over 40 years and has offered this cottage during the months of July and August. We want to share this secluded family getaway and its spectacularly diverse surroundings.
Arthur Valk purchased this Cottage in 1972
Why Arthur Valk chose Indian Neck Heights
The house is an updated timber-frame shingle cottage with brick floors on the first level and pine paneled walls throughout, much as most cape cod style cottages were built in the 40's,& 50's. Informal living with charming touches....
What makes this Cottage unique
Walking distance to bay beaches and shellfishing, with a private deck off the master bedroom looking into a mature pine grove covering the rear of the property.

Welfleet Beach Cottage
We really enjoyed our stay at this sweet, casual beach cottage. Our kids loved being able to walk down to Burton Baker Beach to catch crabs, swim, or to watch the sunset. The Ocean beaches (Cahoon Hollow being our favorite) and fresh water ponds keep us coming back every year. You can tell the family who owns this home cares for it - - - it's the small things like the great outdoor shower and original artwork on the walls. It's a summery type home, so don't expect Comcast or wall-to-wall carpeting. It's peaceful and charming. We plan on staying there again.
Swimming in salt or fresh water with in minutes, some of the best shell-fishing on the east coast, trail or paved biking, windsurfing, kayaking and canoeing, acclaimed restaurants, movies (including one of the last drive-ins still operating), theater, flea market, whale watching, fishing, boating, sailing, golf, tennis, Wellfleet Recreation Department Day Camp/ Swimming Lessons for kids, shopping, gallery hopping. The National Seashore surrounds the entire area, birding, and natural photographic opportunities abound: The White Cedar Forrest and The Audubon Society Refuge are but a few.
Other Activities: shell fishing
