Nestled in the peaceful village of Montoulieu, on the foothills of the Cévennes, this beautifully renovated and fully air-conditioned villa offers an elegant retreat surrounded by vineyards, rolling hills, and spectacular natural scenery. Designed for up to 6 guests, the house combines contemporary comfort with the relaxed charm of Southern France.
The villa features three spacious double bedrooms, two of which can be arranged with twin beds upon request, making it ideal for families or groups of friends. An additional upstairs room serves as a yoga room or office and can also be ideal as a baby’s room. All bedrooms and the office are located on the first floor, along with a stylish shower room and separate toilet. A second shower room and two additional separate toilets are conveniently located on the ground floor.
Guests enter the property through a charming front garden shaded by mature trees, where a welcoming terrace invites long summer breakfasts and relaxed evenings outdoors. This intimate space includes a dining area for six and a cosy reading corner with confortable garden armchairs.
The entrance opens directly into a beautiful contemporary kitchen with a central island, indoor dining area, and a comfortable reading and music corner. At the back of the house, a large contemporary living room offers generous space to relax, complete with a wood-burning stove, and even a water rowing machine for wellness enthusiasts. Large glass openings lead onto an immense panoramic terrace furnished with an extendable dining table, parasol, and gas grill/plancha, the perfect setting for al fresco dining while admiring the breathtaking views over the surrounding vineyards and Cévennes hills.
Below the main house, accessible via charming stone steps from the entrance garden, lies the secure pool area. Protected by both a safety cover and gate, the 7 x 3 metre saltwater pool is not heated but naturally reaches around 27°C during the summer months. The pool is surrounded by a vast covered terrace, beautifully landscaped gardens, pétanque grounds, table tennis, and an abundance of outdoor furniture designed for relaxing in the shade or sun throughout the day. Small dogs are welcome upon request.
The villa is ideally located for discovering one of Southern France’s most authentic and active regions. From the house, guests can enjoy hiking, cycling, canoeing, kayaking, climbing, canyoning, horse riding, caving, and via ferrata adventures, particularly around the famous Thaurac area. The nearby rivers and natural swimming spots provide refreshing escapes during the summer months.
The surrounding villages are filled with excellent restaurants celebrating local produce, vineyards, and traditional Cévennes cuisine. Guests can also discover local goat farms, olive mills, honey producers, open-air farm evenings with music and food trucks throughout the valley in summer, and wonderful weekly markets in Saint-Hippolyte-du-Fort and Ganges. The famous Bambouseraie gardens are also within easy reach, offering one of the region’s most beautiful botanical experiences.
Shops, cafés, bakeries, supermarkets, and local producers can be found nearby in Saint-Bauzille-de-Putois, Laroque, Ganges, and Saint-Hippolyte-du-Fort, while bicycle rental is available in Ganges for those wishing to explore the valley at a slower pace.
