Ciao!! We are Sonia, Alessandro, our uncle Franco ... and Valerio (our 'big' 8 years old son) and Tiziano (our 'small' 6 years old son) from Rome.
Matching our love for traveling with the love for our city and its beautiful historical center, we decided to rent our small and peaceful 'nest' to other 'travel lovers' that wished to visit the Eternal City.
Sonia purchased this apartment in 2004
We always wanted a house in the center of Rome to live:
the Rome of the Roman Republic
the Rome of the Roman Empire
the Rome of the Catholic Middle Ages
the Rome of the Catholic Renaissance
the Rome of the Catholic ‘600
the Rome of good food
the Rome of the gardens and roses
the nightlife of a Rome that never sleeps
... ... ... ... ... .... and all this is just a small list of the many “faces” of our city.
Mind you, the world is really very interesting and beautiful, we love to travel, we sailed south of Turkey, we slept on a double bed just under the night stars on a sandy desert dune, we were stuck between Isralel and Jordan, Alessandro adores Asia, Sonia has lived in New York, we love food and tastes very different from ours like Thai or Northern India, we are working for American companies and we appreciate a lot of other cultures ... but Rome is Rome :-)))))
We searched and found a small house in the center “of the center of Rome”, with the idea of being part of a long history.
We personally live a little out from the center but still close to a historic place, we are at Ponte Milvio (various battles as the Senate of Rome against Pompey, Constantine against Maxentius, and centuries after, Garibaldi “The 2 Worlds’ Hero” against the French.)
As you may have understood we love our city, or better “our cities”, very much, if you want to understand why, come to find it out in the Eternal City: we’ll be waiting for you with great pleasure!
Upon arrival uncle Franco was there to greet us. We didn't know too much about the neighborhood and Franco took the time to show us around, and make us feel comfortable. The apartment is adorable! I was traveling with my sister and it was exactly what we needed. There are lots of cute shops on the street, and an amazing restaurant called Bric enoteca a couple of doors down. The apt is very central to all of the sights in Rome. Overall we had a wonderful experience. I can't wait to come back!!!
Sonia was fantastic and so communicative! Her Uncle was so nice and helpful. Location is fantastic and could’ve have asked for a better stay in Rome!
The apartment is comfortable, has enough room but not too much. Didn't spend much time in it as Campo dei Fiori was a block away and that is where everything is. We were able to relax when we were home and slept well each night.
Sonia arranged a driver to pick us up at the airport and again at the apartment when we left and that was so nice. We will be back.
My wife and I loved this place as it was in a good location, not too far from Rome's attractions (30 minutes of walking one way gets you to the Vatican, while 30 minutes of walking the other way gets you to the Colosseum), and it was spacious (sleeps 4, although two people would have to sleep on pull out couches). The place is a bit damp as it is located on the ground floor, but the air conditioner in the room helps in that regard.
Also, uncle Franco is the best!!! He waited for us by the door when we got there and provided us with a very detailed itinerary with expected walking times to each of the city's main attractions! He also arranged a private cab for us to take us to the airport on our last day there, and he had wine and cheese ready for us on our arrival, which was a special request from me. Thanks uncle Franco!!!
This is a great apartment right in the midst of a wonderful neighborhood with a daily market, good restaurants (be sure to eat at least once at Osteria da Fortunata and have their hand-made pici), pasticcerias and cafes, interesting shops and lots of places to explore. We were able to easily walk to all the sites. Sonia was easy to reach, Franco was very helpful and the apartment was quiet and comfortable. The kitchen is very basic with no staples, but we were able to buy a few for the breakfasts we ate in the apartment. I definitely recommend it and would stay here again in a heartbeat. Grazie Sonia e Franco!
We loved our little apartment in the heart of Rome. Just down the street from Campo di Firori, we had a wonderful location filled with delicious restaurants and centrally located to get to all of the main attractions. And did I mention Uncle Franco? He was such a pleasant welcome to Rome for us. He met us late since our train did not arrive until 7:20 pm. He came in, explained all about the apartment, sat down with us and a map, and helped us plan our days while in Rome. He told us how long to allow to get to certain areas, what time we needed to get a taxi to make our train to Florence, and he even walked us to the taxi stand to show us how to get there! He was warm and welcoming. The apartment was comfortable, and had everything we needed. The little washing machine/dryer combo was perfect to wash a load of clothes while we slept or toured. We really enjoyed our stay. We would recommend this apartment to anyone wanting to be in a great location and be comfortable when it is time to seek refuge from all of the hustle and bustle of a busy city like Rome!
The apartment was in a great location close to walking distance to many of the attractions. The suite was clean and comfortable for the four of us. Having the use of air conditioning unit was a must as it was very hot during our stay. We used the laundry once but it was a long 6h wash and dry cycle. The owners very accommodating to our needs like setting up transportation from the airport and return. Oh forgot to mention we did get very good introduction to the area when first arriving.
