Plusses and Minuses

Quiet situation. The house is on quite a narrow impasse and the gate is not enormous. Anyone with a car larger than ours (Skoda Yeti 1m 75 cm wide) could find it a bit tight getting in and out. There are some parking spaces round the corner. All contact was with the concierge, timely and professional. The sea-facing terrace also faces north and can be bracing, but the one overlooking the garden is quite a sun-trap, and sheltered. There is adequate shopping in Asnelles with a small Carrefour supermarket and a very good baker. Two restaurants are handy – Le Barak’a quite brilliant. All contact was with the concierge, Isabelle, who was timely and professional. We took the package which includes cleaning. We brought our own bedding, towels etc so cannot comment on the provision for that. Given the overall state of the property, cleaning was adequate. There are folding chairs to take to the beach, wind-break and parasols. There are several things prospective visitors need to know. Access is tight and the sanitary arrangements are wanting: there is a plunger under the sink. After a couple of days my husband started coughing quite a lot. His respiratory system is sensitive to a black mould. There are patches of black mould on the ceiling in the main room and the wood panelling in the bathroom is quite riddled with it. We are glad we stayed here on Gold Beach but do not actually know anyone to whom we would recommend this property without letting them know its shortcomings.

Die Lage des Hauses direkt am Strand ist optimal und ruhig, gr.Garten, die Elektroger. funktionierten,um das Positive des Aufenthalts zu nennen.Das Haus an sich ist alt,so wie beschrieben, aber eben auch verkommen und ungepflegt: Spinnen und Spinnweben überall, Ameisen in der Toilette, Schimmel im Bad, sich ablösende Farbe an Decke und Wänden, Risse in den Wänden, Tor und Terrassengeländer brauchen dringend einen Anstrich, aber das nur am Rande.Nun zur desolaten Ausst.:Doppelbettmatratze eigentlich nur für eine Pers., da Matratze schlecht; Toilette mit Putzutensilien vollgestellt, ekelhaft, Staubsauger direkt neben der Toilette !!!, mussten die Sachen erstmal entfernenToilette sauber gemacht ..., Duschwanne ohne jegliche Haltegriffe; mit dem Duschvorhang wollte man auch nicht in Berührung kommen; Waschbeckenarmatur viel zu klein, Waschen fast unmöglich; ausserdem Schimmel, da Holzverkleidung; die Flügel der Fenstertüren im Esszimmer und Küche ließen sich nur einseitig öffnen, da verrostet;Esstisch für 4 Personen zu niedrig; Gartenmöbel (Tisch und Stühle) gab es keine, haben diese mit Einverständnis der Verwalterin vom Nebenhaus holen dürfen, sollten diese aber sofort zurückstellen, falls dort vermietet würde, aber auch hier erstmal sauber gemacht; ausserdem Kaffeemaschine entkalkt,da nicht funktionierte,1 Steckdose in Küche zerfallen, Sicherheit!!!, lose Bodenplatten. Somit Preisleistungsverhältnis sehr sehr schlecht!!!

Ruime woning waarin allesaanwezig is. Ligging is perfect, uitzicht over zee. Jammer van de stofwolken onder het bed en de raggen in de hoeken van de kamer.

näher dran geht nicht - einfach traumhaft

Die Lage des Hauses ist einfach fantastisch. Frühstück auf der riesigen Terrasse, dann mit drei Schritten die autofreie Strandpromenade überquert, ein paar Stufen runter und schon am Strand! Aus Wohnzimmer, Küche und einem der Schlafzimmer schaut man direkt aufs Meer, allein die unterschiedlichen Lichtstimmungen der Normandie haben uns stundenlang fasziniert. Asnelles ist ein ruhiger, entspannter Ferienort mit einem guten Bäcker und einem kleinen Lebensmittelladen für den täglichen Bedarf. Der Strand war jetzt im September fast menschenleer und sehr sauber. Wenn der Wind auf der Meerseite zu stark war, saßen wir auf der 2. Terrasse zum Garten hin, auch hier alles gepflegt, ruhig und sehr angenehm. "La Morvandelle" ist ein Haus mit Geschichte. Aus unserer Sicht war die Einrichtung größtenteils nicht "alt", sondern dem Charme und Esprit des Hauses entsprechend und erinnert ein wenig an den Besuch bei den Großeltern... Die Zimmer sind groß, die Ausstattung mit Geschirr, Besteck etc. einfach riesig, Bad und WC voll gebrauchsfähig und ok (Waschmaschine und Trockner sehen fabrikneu aus, Wasserdruck Dusche top). "Schöner Wohnen" Einrichtungsfetischisten werden sich nicht wohlfühlen, uns aber hat es sehr gut gefallen und wir werden gerne wiederkommen. Vielleicht haben sich dann kleine Wünsche wie neue Sonnenliegen oder ein neues Radio erfüllt ;-) Die Abwicklung war insgesamt sehr unkompliziert, die Vermieterin hat alle Fragen umgehend beantwortet. Schlüsselüber- und rückgabe waren problemlos, die Kaution wurde zeitnah und anstandslos zurückerstattet. Alles in allem 5 Sterne - sehr empfehlenswert.

La Morvandelle, Asnelles

La Morvandelle is an old house, with old furniture and fittings. However, it is ideally situated for visiting the Normandy Landing Beaches. The house has direct access to the promenade and the Gold Beach landing site at Asnelles. The remains of the Mulberry Harbour caissons can clearly be seen from the North Terrace at low tide. Recommended.
