La Musardière is a charming, bright cottage, pleasant to live in, with all modern comforts. Its surface area is 73 m2.

With its two bedrooms, this cottage for 4 to 5 people is perfect for accommodating two couples or a family of up to 5 people. The upstairs bedroom can be arranged for both children and a couple, offering accommodation flexibility. In addition, each bedroom has its own bathroom, thus guaranteeing total autonomy and privacy for all occupants.

Its location in Formigny is ideal for visiting Normandy. The famous fine sand beach of Omaha Beach, 5 km long, is 5 minutes by car. The surrounding nature offers beautiful walks or bike rides along the coastal paths, in the Cotentin and Bessin marshes. The magnificent medieval town of Bayeux is 10 minutes away, Port-en-Bessin and Grandcamp-Maisy, two charming fishing ports, are 15mm away, Mont Saint Michel is 1h30 away, etc. La Musardière will offer you a haven of peace after your days exploration. You will also enjoy its pleasant garden equipped with deckchairs, a barbecue and a south-facing terrace with a garden table and chairs.

This fully restored accommodation occupies the former bakery of the outbuildings of a former small manor farm which has retained all the authentic character of Bessin.

The owners' house is approximately 40 meters away. Private parking at the foot of the cottage can accommodate 2 cars.

All the usual shops await you in Trévières (5 minutes by car). Formigny also has a supermarket with its daily bread supply less than 2 minutes by car.

Accommodation description
On the ground floor :
- a living space with a fully equipped kitchen to allow you to easily prepare your meals, a lounge area and a dining area.
- a master bedroom (160x200 bed) with adjoining bathroom (shower + sink),
- independent toilets
- laundry room (washing machine and dryer)
Upstairs :
- a bedroom (3 90 x 200 beds) with a bathroom (shower + sink + WC).

Note:

The published price per night corresponds to a stay of at least 4 nights. However, short stays of 3 nights are possible, in this case contact us for the price.

Our rate includes heating, bed linens, towels, and kitchen linens. Beds will also be made upon your arrival.

La Musardière is not accessible to people with reduced mobility.

Possibility of parking 5 bicycles in the cart shed.

This home is beautifully decorated and furnished with everything we needed for our stay. We were warmly welcomed by our hosts and given a quick tour explaining the equipment as well as all the rules of the property. It’s in a lovely setting and perfect location for touring the area. I highly recommend this property- you won’t be disappointed!

Excellent location to access the D Day Landing beaches

Bénédicte and Marc were excellent hosts! They were extremely welcoming and gave us several ‘tastes of Normandy’.Their gîte is is a beautiful building, formerly the bakery, restored to an extremely high standard! We were very happy to stay there to explore the Normandy beaches. We would happily stay here again!!

We had a fantastic stay at La Musardiere. The property was perfect in every way and the hosts are wonderful people. The cottage is situated in a great location, quiet and peaceful but yet so close to some many places. Bayeux, D-Day beaches and museums and the beautiful countryside. Recommend staying. Will be back.

Beautiful gite, great base for exploring, amazing hosts!

We had an amazing 1-week family holiday at La Musadière! The gite is beautiful, clean, well equipped and quiet. It has a huge garden, and Marc and Bénédicte allowed us to use their trampoline and football goals, which kept the kids busy! Lots of historical and kid-friendly things are within about 20 minutes’ drive so it was a great base for exploring the area. Marc and Bénédicte were wonderful hosts - they gave us so many great recommendations and really made our stay extra-special with their warm welcome. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!

Fabulous property and hosts

Our stay at La Musardiére was fabulous , the accommodation is brand new and immaculate and Marc and Bénédicte the hosts were absolutely amazing , they can offer so much advice about the local area and places to visit and eat , they were fabulous with us when my mum had an accident and ended up in the local hospital, we would now class them as friends, we would have no hesitation in returning and highly recommend anyone to stay there

Fabulous! Perfect for a family

Our family of 4 had an incredible 3 night stay at this cottage. It was spacious and lovely, and the open grass grounds were great for our boys to play after our days of visiting the D Day museums and sights. Benedicte and Marc greeted us with a warm welcome, fresh jam, and tons of brochures for things to do during our stay. Every recommendation they gave us was superb! We will definitely be back if ever in the area again, and will recommend this place to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, home away from home in Normandy. Just fabulous!

Amazing hosts and beautiful property

Perfect. One word to describe our stay. From the information pack sent prior to arrival to them greeting us, looking after us and waving us off our stay was perfect. Property was immaculate. Modern and new but also traditional. Location was suitable for visiting all of the Normandy coast.

A 5 star stay in a 5 star cottage.

Our week in La Mousardiere was wonderful. The cottage was beautiful with a newly renovated modern interior. Everything was spotlessly clean and the modern kitchen was equipped with everything you could want and more. Our hosts Benedicte and Marc were a lovely, welcoming couple who could not have been more helpful in providing us with lots of suggestions for restaurants and visits. Certainly worth another visit.

Best VRBO Ever!

I cannot recommend this house more strongly, or more happily. It was perfect. It was beyond perfect! If you are visiting the Normandy area, the location is perfect. The little town nearby is adorable. The owners are wonderful, and made us feel so welcome. The beds are comfortable, and it was the cleanest house I have ever been in. The grounds are beautiful. Our only regret was having to leave!

Lovely place, wonderful hosts

First, Bénédicte and Marc are the best hosts I’ve ever had. They met us at the cottage and greeted us as family. They gave us so many wonderful treats and suggestions and made our trip more memorable. The cottage is beautiful, spacious, comfortable and spotless. It has everything you need. The location is beautiful and quiet plus it’s easy to access all the historic and beautiful places Normandy has to offer. I hope to stay there again. Thank you so much Bénédicte and Marc!

Absolutely perfect

We loved the cottage. Everything has been converted beautifully and with an immaculate finish. The kitchen has absolutely everything you need, the beds are very comfortable and the setting is stunning. Benedicte & Marc are wonderfully kind hosts and gave us lots of suggestions for visits. We would recommend the cottage to anyone looking for a quiet and relaxing place to stay within easy reach of the landing beaches and Bayeux. We will definitely be coming back. Absolutely Amazing and Magical Experience

We had the best VRBO experience ever, in this property. It is absolutely beautiful and its practically brand new inside with all the amenities that you have at home. This stone farmhouse is magical and even more magical are the hosts who live a few steps away in the home on the property. They are amazing! When we had a travel snafu, they immediately gave assistance and knew how to help. They are a beautiful couple whose family has owned this property for a very long time. They went out of their way to make our stay spectacular. We spent a week there visiting the Normandy memorials, beaches, historical sites and museums. And like other reviewers, we did not want to leave our beautiful stone farmhouse. If I were to go back to Normandy again, I will definitely stay here.

Schöner Aufenthalt und freundliche Gastgeber

Das Haus liegt sehr zentral, um die Schauplätze des D-Day zu besuchen. Auch Ausflüge zum Cap de la Hague und Mont Saint Michel sind gut machbar. Die Gastgeber waren ausgesprochen freundlich und haben uns bei Fragen jederzeit zur Seite gestanden. Die Unterkunft ist frisch renoviert und mit allem Nötigen ausgestattet. Alles in allem die perfekte Möglichkeit, die Normandie zu entdecken.

Unser Aufenthalt in diesem zauberhaften Cottage war wunderschön. Uns fehlte es an Nichts. Bénédicte und Marc sind ganz herzliche Gastgeber. Wir haben direkt bei der Anreise unzählige Ausflugstips und Restaurantempfehlungen bekommen. Und auch während der Zeit, bekamen wir von Marc immer wieder Empfehlungen. Wir haben den Aufenthalt in dieser Oase sehr genossen und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Merci beaucoup :-) Catharina & Marcel
