LARGE HOUSE - Perfect for groups! In the middle of WINE COUNTRY - WALK TO TOWN!
Full of art, plants, and life, this classic 115 year old farmhouse was moved to the current location in 2007, on its 100 year anniversary, from eight miles away. Originally located on a one hundred acre pear orchard, it now sits surrounded by the magnificent Palisade area views of the Grand Mesa and the Bookcliffs, with peach orchards and a vineyard immediately surrounding it. Fully updated with 3350 square feet, three roomy bathrooms, two with claw foot tubs, a large social kitchen and great room, another living area, a formal dining room, and a large comfortably furnished wrap around porch, there is plenty of room for everyone to spread out. There are many board games, puzzles, and cable TV and WiFi for down time. All of the bedrooms have new mattresses, and the house is well insulated, with Central AC, and at a distance from the train so you will sleep soundly and comfortably. One bedroom on main floor with a queen size bed and 3/4 bath en suite; two bedrooms upstairs with queen size beds each; one bedroom upstairs with two full size beds, and a full five piece bath including claw foot tub for these rooms; also upstairs a master suite with a king size bed, plenty of floor space for additional blow up mattresses if needed, and a full five piece bath en suite including a claw foot tub. Located on a half acre, fully landscaped lot, with a vegetable garden in back and a large, ever changing, perennial garden in front. The Fabulous Farmhouse is located on one of the routes of the Fruit and Wine Byway, a local system of routes designed to let you bicycle (or drive) to the area Wineries and Fruit Stands to enjoy all our agricultural area has to offer. Also, it is two miles from the terminus of the Palisade Plunge, an epic 32 mile singletrack bike route that descends over 6000’ from the top of the Grand Mesa into Palisade. The house is walking distance from downtown Palisade, and we are very close to the Colorado River and the recreational opportunities it provides. In fact, you can see the high water from the porch in June! We sit about halfway along the popular “Town Float”, a fun two mile river float on paddle boards, kayaks, or “duckies”, that is a staple of summer enjoyment. There are several trailheads for moderately challenging and very scenic hikes in the immediate vicinity, including the Palisade Rim Trail with ancient native people’s petroglyphs along it. The house is a fifteen minute walk from Riverbend Park for music festivals, the Palisade Peach Fest, and the famous Colorado Mountain Wine Fest, as well as disc golf and other outdoor recreation. This is a lovely, rural, and mainly flat area that is superb for bicycles, and there are rentals available from the bike shop in town. Rapid Creek Cycles also rents river equipment like SUPs and kayaks, as well as gives lessons. When you take that short drive, bike ride, or nice walk into Palisade, you will find restaurants, a brewery and a distillery, and Colorado Weedery, which is a retail cannabis store. Also a well stocked grocery store, gas and convenience stores, hardware store, liquor store, as well as art galleries and wineries. Enjoy ALL that Colorado has to offer from this location! The Colorado National Monument is located in nearby Grand Junction. We are a one and a half hour drive to Moab, Utah’s red rock country and Arches National Park; one and a half hour drive from Ouray, Colorado, the “Switzerland of America”; and a forty min drive to the top of the Grand Mesa, with over two hundred lakes, plus Powderhorn Mountain Resort. Guests have full use of the house and property, excluding two locked closets upstairs containing the owners’ personal property.

This property is even lovelier than the online listing! Beautiful setting and peaceful surroundings. This is our second visit and we love staying here.
This was one of the best stays we have ever had with VRBO. This home is in such a beautiful setting and the home itself is outstanding! The photos do not do it justice! It was also the cleanest property I have ever had the privilege of staying in! The owners are so kind and responsive! We will definitely be coming back! Thank you for such a memorable weekend!
Everything was perfect! We loved the house and Wayne the cat was a huge hit!!! The house was spotless! The kitchen was perfect for hanging out in. We would have enjoyed the porch and patio more if the weather had cooperated. They were both lovely. Thanks for a great stay!
We stayed here for my bachelorette girls trips and it was so amazing. The location is great and the host was very responsive. We enjoyed evenings swinging on the wrap around porch and hanging out with the friendly farm cat Wayne. Would love to come back again to stay here!!
We were impressed as soon as we arrived. Lisa and Kurtis are so friendly and accommodating. The fabulous farmhouse is very family friendly with many amenities and very unique art inside and out. Our family has stayed at many homes through VRBO through the years. By far this has been the best and worth another stay!
this is our second stay in Palisades AND the Farmhouse. Our stay was amazing, the house is everything and more than the listing. Great location, tons of room, great art and the history of a great love story. We will be back again and again!
We loved our stay! It's a great location and the house itself is wonderful. Lots of room, amazing kitchen, great art, beautiful outdoor space and the friendliest little cat.
This house was amazing - lots of room, very well stocked kitchen, and super cute decorations. We enjoyed our stay so much that we want to come annually!
The property description is very accurate. The home was immaculate and filled with interesting and fun decorations for all ages. We had a family weekend and had a blast. We will definitely stay here again.
We stayed in the fabulous farmhouse while in Palisade for a family wedding and could not have asked for a more perfect place to call "home" for several days. The historic house is one-of-a-kind - beautifully furnished and maintained, generously supplied with everything we needed during our stay, spacious and comfortable both inside and out. Lisa was an accessible, responsive, and accommodating host, and Wayne the cat made fast friends with all of us from the moment we set foot on site! We would absolutely stay again!
Beautiful, clean home. Great for large groups. Had everything we needed with really nice welcoming touches. Responsive hosts. Great location - close to the Main Street and many wineries!
Everything about this place was perfect, the pictures don't do it justice! The home and the property were absolutely beautiful. We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Everyone also enjoyed petting the cat and watching the chickens and ducks around the property! The beds were comfortable, we had more than enough space for everyone, great location close to town, and the views were stunning. Couldn't have picked a more perfect place. We would 100% recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable and memorable stay with family or friends!
We had such a great time staying here. The house is wonderfully situated close to town and very well stocked. We were a group of 8 and had plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the inside and outdoor spaces. Wonderful hosts - we look forward to our next visit. Thank you for having us!

My husband and I are small business owners in Grand Junction, Colorado. We own Desert Bloom Hydroponics, which is an indoor growing retail store, and have been in business for ourselves for sixteen years. Originally from the Denver area, we absolutely love living on the Western Slope (of the Continental Divide), and have raised our three kids here. We love to spend time on the river in the summer, go frequently to the Palisade Brewing Company in town to hang out with all of our friends in this tight knit community, and are spoiled by all of the fresh grown, local farm produce grown here, and the best tasting water in the world!
Why they chose this property
We had visited this area often while growing up in Denver, and two sets of parents live in the area. We relocated to the area in 2002 to pursue our dreams of being business owners and to live in a big, old, house. The Victorian houses in Palisade proper were out of our price range, so we bought a 1907 farmhouse that we absolutely loved in an area we didn’t especially prefer, but could afford. Our real estate inspector told us that he had previously inspected the house for some folks who were interested in moving the house. What?! Well he planted a seed that day that eventually bloomed into us acquiring the wonderful piece of ground that the house currently sits on, getting permission to build another house on the property (the original, little, house to the north was the original schoolhouse for the Seventh Day Adventist community that lived in this area at the turn of the twentieth century), dismantling the big farmhouse, and eventually moving, and completely rebuilding the farmhouse in its current location. We moved the house on October 14, 2007 when it was one hundred years old, and completed construction on it May 4, 2011. It is our dream house in our dream location.
What makes this property unique
This quiet location, with its proximity to town, and never ending views is ideal. It looks as if the cliffs are right outside the window. The house sits on a wildlife corridor, and we frequently see bald eagles, great blue herons, raccoons, deer, and the occasional bear. At night, the Milky Way is clearly visible in the star studded sky above you, and it’s like broad daylight when the moon is full. Nighttime stroll into town, anyone? We enjoy spending time looking at the views from the wrap around porch, and our famous sunny weather makes it useable ten months of the year. The house has a warm, lived in, feel to it, and it’s just so comfortable. Palisade is a special town, with the friendliest people we’ve ever lived among, and we frequently go into town for the farmers market, live music, excellent food and drink.
