We loved this house! We had 4 generations come together for a family vacation. Our adult children loved having pool to hangout with a short walk to the beach. We would definitely stay again!

Loved it!

We really enjoyed our stay. It had everything we needed and is in a great location. The kids loved the pool! We would definitely stay again.

Property could use some updates but overall it’s a great location, super easy checkin, lots of space for a large family.

House was just ok. Clean but pretty worn and dated overall. Pool was freezing (was in 70’s when we were there) and we were told that pool heat wasn’t an option. We didn’t use the hot tub at all so I can’t say anything on that. Gas grill didn’t work and outdoor charcoal grill was difficult to use. Dishwasher broke and we were told they were going to come that day to fix it but they didn’t show up. Made it hard during checkout to have to wash everything by hand. Both refrigerators froze all of our food from eggs to watermelon. Sign on side of fridge instructs you to not turn down the temp. House is close to the beach but when we went there we were told the whole beach in that area is closed due to dangers from the last hurricane. Would have been VERY nice to know that before we booked! On a rainy day we tried using the gas fireplace but had no luck. There were no instructions for it so we may have been doing something wrong. TV in living room wasn’t working correctly but I’m guessing it just needed new batteries in the remote. TV in king bedroom only had sound every other day or so. Wasn’t on mute and we tried everything so I’m not sure what is up with that tv. Good things - great location for fishing. Very close to two good tackle shops, cape hatteras ramp 43 & 44. Close to cape hatteras lighthouse (currently covered because of construction).

Needs work and attention

The property is nice, but dated and needs attention. I sent pics of my grievances to the rental company, but did not get a response. Example: The cleaning of the lower floors was not optinmal and needed to be repeated. In the master bedroom, the toilet brush holder was completely busted up and the brush was downright cruddy and repulsive. The mattress protector was worn out as well. There were a pile of broken elements of a chair or table on the balcony. In the kitchen, one of the teflon pans was so worn it may well constitute a health hazard. It's a shame that a nice property like this is so neglected. A few dollars for updates would go a long way!

Fishing trip

We loved this house! Close to the beach, and nearby restaurants. The kids loved the pool and hot tub and deck offered great views for morning coffee. The rental process was easy and the Surf or Sound staff answered all our questions! Will definitely rent again.
