About this property
Private, Secluded Setting on nearly 2 acres in Wears Valley
Need a getaway with lots of space and privacy, then head to Mountain Meadow where you can relax and unwind.
This secluded, private, 2 bedroom with bedroom/loft and 2 1/2 bath rustic cabin, sleeps up to 6 and sits on 1.9 acres, not in a subdivision, with no other cabins on either side. The property is located at the end of a dead-end paved road. The entrance starts out as pasture and has a long, 500' paved driveway as it climbs up the base of a wooded mountain where the cabin sits. It has an 8-foot wrap-around covered and non-covered double deck with charcoal grill, rocking chairs, cedar swings, patio table & chairs, and outdoor sofa to relax and view the surrounding mountains. There are only 2 steps to get into the main floor of the cabin, making it easily accessible. Rabbits, ground hogs and other wildlife can be seen throughout the year, wild turkeys roam the area almost daily.
This roomy cabin is 1,800+ square feet and features a high vaulted ceiling in the great room with a stacked stone fireplace, dining area which seats 6, bar area seats 2, is lodge-decorated and includes antiques in the upstairs bedroom/loft area. It has a log king-size bed in the master bedroom, located on the main level, a log queen-size bed in the upstairs bedroom, and a full-size antique iron bed in the large upstairs bedroom/loft area, which also includes a combination pool, card, foosball and ping pong table.
This all-wood cabin is very unique and unlike most in that some of the wood was sawmill-cut, planed and tongue & grooved by the owner and includes a variety of different woods; white & red oak flooring, black walnut upstairs bathroom cabinets and log mantle, red cedar master bathroom cabinets, poplar kitchen cabinets, and hand-made poplar bar, in addition to white pine walls throughout, white pine floors, white and western cedar hand rails, pickets and posts; no sheet rock or carpet. It features a large, fully stocked kitchen with all the amenities, including a small and large crock pot and electric skillet for the larger meals. The cabin also has a separate laundry room with full size washer and dryer and a spacious master bath with soaker/garden tub, separate shower and a double sink.
About a mile away is a pool with pool house, including a snack bar with sandwiches and hot dogs, for a $5 per day admission. At the same location is a catch and release lake for fishing. Cabin is located just minutes away from Pigeon Forge (about 8 miles or 15 minutes), Gatlinburg (about 15 miles or 30 minutes by way of Great Smoky Mountains National Park, or thru Pigeon Forge), Cades Cove (about 14 miles or 30 minutes), Townsend (about 5 miles or 10 minutes) and the Wear Cove entrance into the Great Smoky Mountains National Park at Metcalf Bottoms (about 2 miles or 5 minutes - has large river for fishing/playing, canoeing, kayaking, tubing, and includes picnic tables, grills and restrooms). Horse-riding is within minutes of the cabin.
Sorry, no pets allowed, no house parties, no smoking and no fireworks.
