Pool, Hot Tub, Fishing in a stocked pond on the ranch, awesome views and tons of wildlife! Bar W Ponderosa has three separate homes all in one compound, great for family and friends to gather! You will not find a better view of the Hill Country or a more laid back setting! Relax in the pool or hot tub and enjoy incredible views of the Bandera hills in a very private setting. Watch the occasional pony, cattle, turkey, whitetail or black buck linger by..... Have a great time by the outdoor fireplace playing cards at the table, lounging in the outdoor furniture or playing Foosball....The "Ponderosa" (main home) is a 3/2 with a full kitchen and living area, sleeps 8. The "honeymoon cottage" is a 1/1 and sleeps 4. The Bar W nook is a 2/1 and sleeps 5.

This is an amazing property and the hosts were extremely thoughtful about all aspects of our stay. Beautiful views and quiet. Great place for a quiet getaway or family reunion! We plan to come again.

Perfect getaway!

This is our second time staying here and we had another awesome time! The host is extremely responsive and helpful- really goes above and beyond to make sure we’re having a good time. The place is so relaxing. Highly recommend!!

Great Place

Property manager was extremely helpful and attentive. Had a few hiccups during the stay but he made sure to make it right each time. Will definitely stay here again

Beautiful Views!

We created some great new family memories over Family vacation. Nice open layout, plenty of beds and well equipped. Beautiful place, great location, and privacy. The owner was very responsive. Highly recommend this place! We are looking forward to coming back soon.

Plenty of room for everyone!

We enjoyed our family vacation here at the Ponderosa! The pool was a great way to cool down after spending the day at Six Flags. We had a great time at the local rodeo Friday night. The views were awesome and the pond was a ton of fun! Would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to stay in the area!

Couldn’t have been better!

Had an amazing family reunion. Loved the privacy and seclusion of the property. The pool was the highlight. If you need anything from the store there is a Dollar General 5 minutes away, and Bandera is 10 minutes.

Incredible property and incredible views !!

Amazing views, awesome property, the pool is beautiful , clean and large. Deer, cattle, and other friendly wildlife are abundant. Great fishing lake - my nephew caught his first fish ! Accommodations are large and the back covered Center has ping pong and food all and an awesome fire place. The views are spectacular both day and night. We will be back for sure !!

One of a kind Bandera rental - 5* ++

We were heading to Bandera for a motorcycle rally. In search of accommodations for a large group, we came across this wonderful setting. To say that it was perfect, is an understatement. We could not of asked for anything more! So beautiful and just perfect. We can wait to come back.

Best host ever!

We came from all over the country to host a local event, most of our group had never been to the Texas Hill Country. Having a great property and fabulous host/hostess made the entire trip and experience over the top for all of us. We left promising to return again next year! Thank you Matt and Tara!

A 5 star weekend getaway

This is an incredible find, we couldn’t believe we were still in Texas. Everything from the communication to the amenities exceeded our expectations. There were so many pleasant surprises. The pool was heated, the view was incredible, the hot tub jets were amazing. Plus there was an extra freezer for all the food we brought to feed our large party. My whole group couldn’t stop raving about the place. Matt was very flexible and accommodating, we felt very welcome and we hope to be back.

Family Reunion

This property was great. Owner was very responsive and helpful with all my questions. Pool was perfect and there was plenty of room for us to hang out by the barn and even play a game of wiffle ball. We will definitely want to stay here again.

Weekend getaway

If you’re looking to get away, this is the place. This house was far enough from town, yet close enough if you don’t mind driving into town. The driveway into the house is amazing to say the least. Going up a winding road leading to a heard of cattle with the pony that you just can’t help to admire. The house had plenty of amenities. All three houses were already cooled, which brings me to the owner. The owner was attentive to make sure we had a good stay. He was available the entire time prior to arrival, he made sure we had everything we needed and once there he was always available for any questions or issues. The pool was great with amazing views of the hill country. You can enjoy walking over to the pasture pond or star gazing during the night. Plenty of room to explore. We hope to be back in the fall or winter time, definitely recommend this house!

A hidden gem in the Hill County!

Like many, it’s been two years since our family has had a vacation together. So, when I was looking for the perfect spot for adults and kiddos, we found it! From the very beginning, there has been great communication and true hospitality. The cabins were perfect for each family unit and the pool was a beautiful addition to the rolling hills of Texas. My family has non- stop talked about how perfect our stay was! Thank you for making the Hamilton vacation a success - we’re beyond grateful.

Family Getaway

This place was excellent as a rendezvous point for my family, my younger sister's family, our older sister, and our parents. Plenty of room for everyone to be comfortable and the setting was incredible. We all needed the escape from the city life. Definitely would recommend this place to friends and family.

Family Vacation 2021

Property was well equipped with essentials for our family vacation. It was the perfect location to meet our family and get away from the city. The views were breathtaking and there was plenty to do for all ages. The owner was responsive and very helpful. We plan on coming back next summer.

Ponderosita's week vacation.

We had a group of sixteen staying there. The morning sunrise view was beautiful. The owner was easy to talk too and answered all my questions. The house was the most well stocked rental we have ever stayed at and we have stayed at many rentals all over the country. Everyone in our group said they would stay there again.

A very beautiful place in a scenic spot

Everything was very well set up. The place was exactly as described and the views were stunning. The location in the hill country puts you in driving distance to many vineyards. All of the amenities were proper and the pool well kept. A great place for family getaways or a private retreat!!

Beautiful relaxing hill country experience

What a beautiful and enjoyable stay at this property. Everything listed in the ad was spot on. Relaxing hill country views that go on for miles. We rented the property to celebrate my 40th birthday with family and friends and we took advantage of all the property features including fishing, swimming, ping pong, college football in the covered barn and even some pool side star gazing. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to relax with family and friends. We even made friends with the property's ponies, cows and late night raccoons. 5 stars all the way!!
