Year Round Glacier Get-Away Vacation Home Sleeps 4
HI! My name is Sarah and I will be your onsite host while you stay at Little House Under the Big Sky. I moved to Columbia Falls after graduating from college in 2005 and have made it my home ever since. I am the director of the local community college's campus recreation program and co-owner of a local catering company. Through my professional contacts and personal love for the outdoors I have developed great relationships with local outfitters. I have had the opportunity to enjoy all the summer activities that Whitefish Mountain Resort offers and I am also an avid skier. In the summers I love to whitewater raft, float the rivers, kayak and fish. I am steeped in the recreational opportunities of Flathead Valley (Glacier National Park, Columbia Falls, Whitefish, Bigfork, Kalispell) and eager to share with you summer and winter activities. I will point you in the right direction to the most popular tourist attractions as well as the more off beat destinations you won't want to miss. I can recommend great outfitters for all the recreational opportunities the area has to offer. I live close to the Little House and vouch for how convenient it's location is to the mountain and to Glacier.
Why Owner chose Columbia Falls
Downtown Columbia Falls is truly the ideal location for your stay. It is centrally located to Glacier National Park West entrance , Whitefish Mountain Resort, and Glacier International Airport, convenient to many in-town amenities, modern yet a charming destination get away.
What makes this House unique
Little House History: During the complete renovation in 2018, some of the Little House's history was discovered inside the walls. Built in 1895 as a one room cabin, the original builder of the Little House left few clues to his identity and the first location of the cabin. But, the exterior walls on the south side were lined with news papers from 1895. In 1912 the house was moved to it's present location and a lean to kitchen was added. Under layers of felt and wall paper, the north wall revealed the name of the depression day owner, Robert B, who in 1931 added the side bedroom and at long last indoor plumbing. Today, enjoy the Little House's beautiful new kitchen and baths, native pine tongue and groove ceiling and other special accents unique to this Glacier vacation get away.

Convenient for exploring Glacier
Great little house to come back to at the end of the day. Quiet neighborhood and quick walk into town for groceries or restaurants. Cozy and comfortable.
Perfect Little Cabin
My husband and I were only here for a couple of nights but thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cabin was clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed being able to walk to dinner and see the little town. It's very convenient to Glacier NP, as well. I would recommend this cabin to anyone.
What Home Away is all about!
This was a wonderful renovated small home with the look and feel of a mountain cabin with modern amenities. The gas fireplace, the knotty pine accents and modern appliances were great. the owner was very responsive and we can not say enough about the cleanliness and convenience to Glacier National Park. It was another great experience with Home Away!
Perfect little house for 4!
So perfectly decorated and homey feeling. All the amenities were nice and everything was super clean. Great location to the west side of Glacier!
Thank you for staying at the Little House, we are glad you had a great stay!
What a wonderful little house with everything we needed for the week at Glacier. Especially loved being able to cook our meals in the lovely kitchen. We grilled several nights. Beds very comfortable. Bathrooms sparkling clean. The convenience of having a washer and dryer was certainly appreciated. Loved the fireplace and excellent WiFi. All around 5 stars!!!
Glad to hear that the house had all the amenities you needed for your Montana adventures! Thank you for staying at the Little House, come back again.
Loved Glacier & Little house was a great home base!
Everything was great and when it wasn't, we called Sarah (the mgr) and she was over pronto to take care of it. Little house was a great home base where we could go to Glacier all day long & rest in the evening. The only problem is the trains in town that blow their horns all night long, but we knew about it & brought a sound machine, and slept so much better. The grocery store is just few blocks away so that was very handy. Loved the Three Fork Grille in town on the main drag for dinner one night.
