The location was excellent and no matter where you go, everything was easy to navigate too. We did a lot of walking and I highly recommend the place.
Pictures are accurate and really well presented. It does sleep up to 6, sofa bed but I’d only recommend 4 due to the fact I like to have use of the communal area.
Would definitely return.
The apartment is close to Vatican City ( a few minutes walking), easy transportation to trastevere, etc
Great apartment in good location
Brilliant from start to finish. Michaelangelo was great in communicating with us, allowing us to check in early and to add an extra guest. Apartment is on a quiet street, only 5-10 minutes walk from the Basilica. There are grocery stores and pizzerias close by. The apartment had everything we needed, and our older guests enjoyed use of the lift! I would recommend the Mytaxi app to book taxis, using the street address and then meeting the taxi at the end of the street as it is residents only on the street. Thank you Michaelangelo!
Best things: Owner had a driver arranged to pick us up and deliver us to and from the Rome airport; he also permitted us to check in early on the day of arrival to drop our luggage. The apartment looked newly renovated: IKEA comfortable beds, new bathroom facilities, kitchen clean & new (with the normal quirky Italian arrangements that may seem odd to Americans - example: all dishes, silverware & glasses are not located in the kitchen itself but in the long white cabinet next to sofa in living room), newly appearing tiled floor and beautiful ceiling lighting.
However, the apartment building itself was a disappointment. It looked and felt sort of shabby. The apartment has two balconies - one large one off the kitchen where the open air washing machine is located, strung with lines for drying clothes. The other tiny one off of the second bedroom that has two folding chairs (but nothing to look at besides the adjoining apartment building.) We needed to be located near the Vatican on this trip to Rome - and this apartment was very near the Vatican. I would not stay on this side of the Vatican again - the opposite side looks cleaner and nicer to me: inviting restaurants - just not so grim. (just my opinion)
Two items were not working: The air conditioning units were missing the controllers, so could not be used. We were there in March so the weather was cool the entire time we were in Rome - so it wasn't that important to us. But in warm weather air conditioning would be essential. (The associate who checked us in the apartment on arrival tried to find the controllers before he left, but was unable.)
On the last day, a chilly rainy day, we discovered at 9PM we had no hot water for badly wanted and needed showers. Since it was so late, and we were leaving very early the next morning, we only informed the owner after we returned, and asked if he would reimburse us somehow for these problems. I gather I annoyed him with my question. There probably is a language misconnection here.
I think I have fairly evaluated our experience with this unit and the owner. I personally would not rent this unit again. There are so many other options with Home Away.
Clean and comfortable beds and pillows.
The location is perfect for visiting the Vatican and if you are ready for some walking, you could walk from the apartment to most all of the major tourist sites. Also, extremely important for me was that the apartment is located on a dead-end street, which means there was no noticeable street noise in the apartment. Definitely recommend this place to others. FYI - there is another tax that was paid in addition to the booking cost (€7/night) which is good to know.
Perfect location that is close to the Vatican and the Metro.
The apartment is situated in a privileged position: St. Peter basilica is close by as well as the station of the same name. The most famous monuments and the town centre can be easily reached by bus or walking.
Moreover, there are lots of useful shops and retailers nearby the flat(bars, restaurants and pizza restaurants, supermarkets, laudromat, pharmacy).
