Great Location Needs New Mattresses

This house is a great location for us and we enjoyed the view and the game room. All the mattresses on the beds need to be replaced as they are in an extremely poor condition. A good nights sleep, for everyone is absolutely imperative. There were no mattresses on the bunkbeds for the children. The bathroom faucets are wonky and a shower valve needs to be replaced. Otherwise we very much enjoyed our stay.

BEAUTIFUL home, but in need of A LOT by of work

It’s a very beautiful house. You can tell once upon a time it was such an elegant place. We did however run into a lot of little things that made the place unfortunately, a home we won’t visit again. We decided to write the pros and cons in hopes that it helps in your future booking. PROS: Very spacious and decorated very nicely. There’s 4 bedrooms, 5 with the bed in the office area. Lots and LOTS of space. Has 3 living rooms/hangout areas The kitchen is very spacious and the double stove is such a plus. The VIEWS are amazing! Gated entry so private driveway/parking CONS Needs a lot of up-keeping- TLC needed bad Kind of old and dirty- especially all windows inside and out The shingles from roof are falling off Several of the bathrooms do NOT lock Broken bed in office room Outlets that don’t work No garage access Mold/leaks in dinning room by skylight area No up keep of shrubs to get access by river. Broken dumbwaiter Not a lot of hot water

Great house, no heat, no hot water, no gas at fireplace, no hot water in jacuzzi tub

Rented the house for a large Christmas gathering. At first it was great till we realized the gas tank was empty with no way to fill it. No hot water no heater.

Would request somewhat of a refund.

The house had many issues. *The landscaping was very neglected. *The stove knobs were broken. Which we could only use 2 burners * Cupboard broken * The couch was absolutely disgusting dirty. * The air conditioning did not work * Mouse crap in the lower cupboards * Dead plants all over the inside plant area * The PA system went off at 4am and we had to kick breaker to shut off. Lady was very snotty when I called. * There was not welcome package to offer and assistance.

It would have been good....if

There was zero hot water. No gas for the home to run on. After we let maintenance know on Saturday morning....it was never taken care of...I even messaged a few days before to be sure everything was in working order. I feel we should get a lot of our money back on this deal...

Mini vacation

The house was so big and fit us all very comfortably however there was some minor issues. No tv worked in the house, there was only one cable box in a room which did not work. There was so many lights that would not work at all and the fire place in the master suite did not work so the room was very cold. The house needs a lot of repairs and updates. A good glass cleaning company is definitely needed to take the smudges off and a good pressure washing of the whole house would really do it some good! Other then that we did enjoy our stay. These items are not hard to fix and definitely would recommend the owner do their due diligence for their paying customers.

Beautiful Spot but......

View is Awesome! House is huge and Beautiful but, drawing points for me booking were disappointing. The Master suite, especially the Jacuzzi tub and fireplace. We'll, didn't work unfortunately. 😔

1990’s time capsule needs upkeep & safety updates

Beware there are SAFETY CONCERNS at this property!! This is a long review but I thought sharing our experience would help with your decision to rent this property. When we first arrived the remote to the gate was damaged, duct taped shut AND inoperable. So in order to drive up to the house each time you have to send someone to the house to open the gate by walking into the wooded area around the gate. This was highly inconvenient as it was raining all 3 days of our stay! I sent an email to Vacasa’s customer support line within an hour of our 3 day stay and heard nothing back. This should have been a warning of what we were in for. SAFETY #1) Although part of staying here is experiencing the 1990 style living, a key update is needed to the gas stovetop. The knobs are so old that it’s hard to determine how to operate them to the point one knob was overtightened and broke off as mentioned by a previous guest. We smelled gas and could not find where it was coming from so we had to shut the gas off and open the windows. SAFETY #2) There was a power outage as night approached and the gate at end of the driveway was stuck shut CLOSING US IN all night. Maintenance didn’t know how to manually override it. This did not make for a restful night! SAFETY #3) There were no working emergency supplies, -0- of the 4 plug in style flashlights worked. It made for a very dark and unsafe 8000 sq ft house! We called Vacasa’s customer service line to report these 3 safety issues when they occurred and thankfully, they sent a maintenance man over who I think had never been to the house and basically just paced back & forth waiting for the cleaning person to call back for directions on who the power company was (to report outage & get updates) and if they knew how to override the gate. It was too dark for him to work on the stovetop so we just left the gas off. After an hour of pacing, I asked him to leave as it was apparent he had no idea of how to solve our issues and the pacing was adding to our stress! This property has so much potential if only given an update to the stovetop, gate opener and emergency supplies. It’s also in need of a thorough deep clean. Note: I have registered a detailed complaint w/Vacasa which 1 week later is still unanswered. I will update if I get a resolution.

What a dream!

I honestly considered leaving a one star review... so that nobody would ever book this house and it would be available for us to always book again! Lol. Selfish, I know. After sharing pics and videos of our stay with friends and family, the messages came pouring in asking for the deets on this absolute dream of an air bnb. The views are breathtaking, the layout is brilliant and my family fell in love with its charm and all of the little extravagant details around every corner. If you book a stay here - read the instructions on the house amenities here in vacasa to figure out things like how to turn on the fireplace, etc. We couldn't get half of the tvs to do anything other then just turn on, but we were so exhausted that wasn't much of a priority anyway. We played pool for hours, enjoyed the sauna and hot tub and jetted tub for two. The kids got a kick out of the dumb waiter and house intercom. Absolutely loved cooking breakfast and dinner in the kitchen which is laid out so two people can be on each stove and someone could be washing dishes and there's STILL plenty of room! Whoever owns this is one lucky human and we will be reminiscing about this mini vacation for years to come.

Absolutely amazingly beautiful

Wonderful property to relax by the river, sauna and hot tub were amazing and the house and amenities were clean! Could use a few pool que tips but other than that, this was a great girls getaway weekend! I will definitely be back!

Neglected potential.

I should start by explaining that we rented this house, not due to local attractions, but it’s central location to family. With covid, it had been a long time since we last got together. The expectation was to rent a house large enough to support everyone with a room along with the space required to hang out. Essentially, we planned to hang out at the residence for most of our time here. We wanted a large comfortable spot to play board games and reconnect. Overall, the house is quite grand, but it was quickly apparent that the person or group that owns it doesn't do regular check-ins or maintenance. First off, the pros. Beautiful view Large spacious house Parking is great, even with another guest staying in the other section of the house. Annnnd that’s about where it ends. Cons. The garbage situation is a mess. I was here Monday-Friday and arrives to a full can. We had nowhere to place our garbage, and on Wednesday, an animal got into the can spreading someone else’s trash all over. We spent our time picking it up, but really, they need another solution. 2. The A/C was broken. Maybe not a major issue in the winter, but this place has a ton of windows and heats up to 80+ deg in the day and doesn’t really cool off until morning. There’s one fan in the entire house, and it’s broken. I contacted Vacasa, who told me they couldn’t get approval to address the problem but would drop off fans. A nice gesture, but ultimately, it didn’t make an impact. For us, this was a major letdown as it made the house too hot to occupy in the day. We had a fairly specific set of requirements, one being A/C. Had they disclosed it was inoperable, we wouldn't have rented this house. 3. The house is worn out. Carpets are disgusting and stained. Furniture is falling apart, stained, and dirty. The stairs to the shoreline are rotted and dangerous to navigate. One of the rotted steps even came off, causing me to fall. Many interior lights don’t work, the single fan is broke, etc. 4. Infestation. In what I would call the breakfast nook, there’s an infestation. I’m not sure if they are termites or carpenter ants. One thing I do know is that they are in the ceiling. How do I know this? Well, we had a meal there, and they were falling into our food. I took pictures, and it certainly needs to be addressed like many other things in this house. I would 100% use Vacasa again to book a house, but I couldn't recommend anyone stay in this house until the group/person who owns it invests some time and money into general maintenance, upkeep, cleaning, and pest control.

Great view and comfort staying.

The house placed alongside river and close to sea and sea water coming in and out, watching the tide through the window is great. When the tide gets low, we were able to down to the beach and take a walk. Huge house helps privacy for individual guest. Back yard has well managed flower garden and big enough to my sons playing around. Downside of this house is not well maintained and not clean. Make sure ask them to clean and double check before your visit if possible.

Ineffable!

This was truly a blessing to be able to enjoy the breathtaking views, the grandeur of this exquisite home and the relaxing atmosphere. Just don’t set your phone down unless your able to ping it to find it!! The lights are amazing, I’ve never experienced so many light switches, now just imagine the rest of the place!!! Truly a masterpiece:)
