Sunny San Leon is a peninsula that juts out into Galveston Bay. This small bayside community is located 14 miles North of Galveston Island, 10 miles South of Kemah Waterfront and 33 miles South of Houston. You will be within a golf cart ride of TopWater Grill, known for it's fresh fish and fishing tournaments, award winning restaurant Gillhooley's, repeatedly voted “best smoked oysters,” locally owned and operated Railean’s Distillery featuring tasting tours and souvineer shot glass, and 18th street Fishing Pier. (Remember to pack your fishing supplies!)
This one room studio has a private entrance and is on the ground level of an artist's home that was featured in Coast magazine. Fresh eggs from the handful of resident chickens can be prepared in the fully equipped kitchen which includes a stove, microwave, and stainless steel refrigerator with ice-maker. The space includes a queen size bed, a sectional sofa, an original Cushman paddle-arm sofa, and a comfy mid-century modern chair paired with a genuine, previously owned Mason’s ottoman from the 1940s. Internet access and a large screen tv with cable, Netflix, and HBO, as well as a vintage formica dining room table that seats four completes the furnishings.
A private bathroom with a hand painted ceramic sink and tiled shower is stocked with fresh towels.
This studio features stained concrete floors, wooden blinds and an individually controlled Mitsubishi ac/heater unit.
From every window, there is an unobstructed view of Galveston Bay. Two lounge chairs provide a perfect spot to watch the pelicans, blue herons and seagulls that live at the water's edge as working shrimp boats and various pleasure crafts dot the horizon. A bulkhead fire pit at the property’s point offers a place to roast s’mores or simply gaze at the moon and the stars as they reflect off of Galveston Bay.
