Fabulous location, beautiful condo

The condo is set up perfectly, with a beautiful open functional kitchen, sizeable living area, an unbelievable panoramic view of the beach, ocean and palm trees, and windows on the side of the condo allowing the breeze to enter from the mountains. We loved having the ocean views, especially the sunsets, and we enjoyed our walks to the quiet beach parks, and activity of Waikiki close by, all within walking distance. We will definitely stay again in the near future.

Perfect place on the beach

This was our second time staying here and it is our favorite place to stay on the island. We love hanging out on the settee along the long window and watching all the activities going on at the beach and out on the water. Listening to the sounds of the ocean while falling asleep is the best. We would stay here every year if we could.

Our experience at this property was very disappointing and stressful. During our stay, the unit flooded multiple times due to a building or plumbing issue that had nothing to do with us. The owner never disclosed this problem beforehand. We were contacted by building staff to come back and deal with flooding on multiple occasions, and the property manager had to visit repeatedly to fix it. Unfortunately, some of our belongings — including an iPad and luggage — were damaged by the water.The property manager entered the unit before our agreed check-out time (15 minutes early) while we were still cleaning and packing. This made us feel uncomfortable and rushed, especially since my partner was still inside preparing to leave.After the stay, we were shocked to receive false claims of damages, including things that were clearly not our fault (like flooding-related sand and a broken garbage disposal the manager had already confirmed was malfunctioning before). The “wet sheets” they mentioned were the ones we used to contain flood water — which the manager saw himself during repairs.We have stayed in many rentals before and have never had an issue like this. Between the undisclosed flooding, repeated interruptions, property damage to our belongings, and an unfair damage claim afterward, this was unfortunately the worst experience we’ve had in 7 years of using VRBO.

Just returned from our stay at this "little slice of heaven." My husband is a SUP surfer/foiler so it was the ideal place to "park" for the month. Activity is 3 stories down and a few steps to the beach/water. The Colony Surf assigned us a space to store his board in the car port area. We just needed a lock and cable to secure it to the fence. I was able to watch his water sports from the window!Every night, the surf and trade winds lull you to sleep and from dawn to dusk, you hear happy families, swimmers, paddlers, surfers, outrigger canoes teams and the occasional monk seal enjoying the beach and 85-degree water. Air conditioning is not allowed in the building, but it was not an issue for us because there was a continual north to south breeze through the condo as long as we opened the windows. The unit does not have a washer/dryer but there is a community laundry room.Because the Outrigger Canoe Club is next door, you are able to periodically enjoy live music and special events from your window. Also, the Elks Club's BEST location is 2 doors down and Kaimana Beach, a wide, sandy, reef-protected beach, is a 5-minute walk.Dan and Betsy are excellent, responsive hosts and have stocked the condo up perfectly for your month-long stay. Plenty of toilet paper and paper towels, dish washing and laundry detergent, cooking oil, cleaning equipment etc. We even found an icepack in the freezer for injuries!An amazing, unforgettable stay!!!

Simply Lovely!

Wow, what an introduction to VRBO. As a retirement gift we had decided to spend a month in Hawaii, and could not have picked a better property to do so. This freshly renovated oceanfront suite was a delightful retreat. Simple, clean, and bright uncluttered design with plenty of space. Gentle breezes kept the unit comfortable, and the sound of the ocean lulled you to sleep every night. We dined out when we felt like doing so, and made many nice meals ‘at home’ utilizing the brand new appliances in the well equipped kitchen. Both the owner and their representative were very responsive and a delight to deal with. We already have another family vacation booked to another Island for later this year, otherwise we would have booked another month before we left! That aside, we will definitely be booking this unit again - it felt like home. If you are considering staying here, do yourself a favour and book this unit.

Perfect place on the beach

We had an amazing time staying in Unit 302. The view over the beach and water was incredible. We fell asleep to the sound of waves every night and woke up to the hushed voices of the early paddlers/swimmers in the morning. Sunsets from the unit were perfect. The weather was cool and the breeze from the Diamond Head side cooled the entire unit, although I'm sure in summer months that it might be too hot. The unit is beautifully appointed; the kitchen is newly remodeled and the bed is very comfortable, and there are beach chairs and towels for guests' use. The access to the beach is easy and we were grateful the unit was on the 3rd floor when we were coming up the stairs. (There is also an elevator.) Brandon was very easy to work with and we loved the location, particularly since it is right next door to the Outrigger Canoe Club. We can't wait to return next year!

Magnificent!

This is truly a special place. The views of the beach and the ocean are captivating. The sandy beach below is perfect for swimming and sunbathing with the Outrigger Canoe Club available next door to members makes it an ideal location. The property manager couldn’t have been more accommodating. He was very welcoming on our arrival and responded quickly when we had questions. Unit was clean and tastefully upgraded. Everything we expected and more!

Excellent Oceanrofnt Condo on Gold Coast

This third floor condo is everything that the pictures suggest: modern, clean, and bright, with a wall of shuttered windows overlooking the beach. It is well furnished and well maintained. My wife and I loved our two-month stay here this winter, and we hope to return.

Excellent in every way!

My wife and I spent a wonderful winter in Colony Surf, 302. The furnishings are new, stylish and very comfortable. The king size bed was outstanding, the linens new, very clean and of high quality. We cooked most of our meals in the condo; the dishes and pots/pans were ample and almost new. The overall cleanliness was outstanding on arrival. The caretaker responds within an hour or two of your call. We had a slight plumbing issue and the problem was fixed within 4 hours! Of note is the beautiful view from the condo. There are many ocean activities to watch including fireworks from the Hilton. The building is quiet, the beach beautiful and the location is marvelous. Colony Surf is next to the park and far enough from Waikiki to avoid the crowds and noise yet close enough to walk to restaurants and shopping. We walked a lot and did not rent a car although a parking spot is provided. One can take da Bus to Lanikai. We hope to come again and again. Mahalo Dan and Betsy

Amazing secret getaway

This property is amazing. We happened to be the first ones to stay in this beautiful little unit and it was unbelievable! The view out of the amazing panoramic window was unbelievable. It was hard not to lay on the sofa and just stare out the window 24/7. The location is a tad bit further away from the center of Waikiki, but I think that's the point. There's an outrigger canoe club next door and it was fun to watch them take their canoes in and out of the beach that's right below the window. There's no AC in this unit, but it's literally right on the water and the breeze is heavenly. We can't wait to come back!
