If you choose this apartment for your “Roman Holiday” you are ideally positioned to do most of your sightseeing by foot as this one bedroom apartment is perfectly located: close to Piazza Navona and Campo de’ Fiori in the very heart of the Eternal City.
This beautiful apartment enchants you with its special charm made up by high and fresco-ed ceilings and antique furniture.
The apartment is situated on the 3rd floor (with elevator) of a typical Roman Palazzo from the late 19th century.
Passing along the corridor from the large entrance hall, to the right you reach the elegant living room with a fireplace.
From here, you have access to the bedroom with a double bed and the Ensuite-Bathroom with shower.
From the corridor to the left, you reach the large kitchen with all mod-cons.
The apartment’s amenities include: wifi connection,a washing machine, Italian TV and autonomous heating.
my name is Dorotea Morlicchio and I am specialized in the tourist industry.
I have been living for many years in Turkey and Argentina where I started up a consultancy company for foreign investors in the tourist sector.
I can say that the apartment is really confortable, on III floor in a building with lift and porter
The building is a beautiful and rappresentative building of 1800 century
Inly few minutes walking distance from Navona Square and Campo dei Fiori Square
While this apartment is spacious, in a lovely old building in a central location, has ceiling frescoes and terrazzo floors, it is not the most comfortable. Even though the apartment does not face the very busy street the building is on, you can hear the traffic clearly and constantly. Ambulances with sirens run by regularly. Exhaust smells drift in. Across from the apartment, there is a high school for boys who are very loud and rev their motos in the morning and peered through the bedroom windows at us. At night, the businesses drag carts along the cobblestones on that side. This was one of the noisiest apartments I have rented.
The apartment also suffers from a lack of maintenance, from the dirty curtains, the browning of the blue bedspread and pillow covers, the bulge at the end of the mattress, to the loveseat cushions that flatten out when you sit on them. The washing machine is wedged in a disused bathroom off the kitchen, very hard to access, and it spins poorly. One attempt to maintain the place was the delivery of reading chairs that had been recovered. However, although we were there for almost 3 weeks, we had to ask for a linen change and no one ever came to vacuum or dust the place. No vacuum or mops in the apartment. The plastic tablecloths in the kitchen were filthy. There were no basics in the kitchen but salt and pepper, and we eked out the last of the dishwashing soap. The few knives were dull and the non-stick pans were damaged. No spatulas nor microwave. Except for sheets and pillowcases, nothing is provided and other renters had been buying necessities, leaving the extras behind. We bought toilet paper and napkins ourselves. The internet connection is poor, as the Wi-Fi comes from the owner's apartment through 3 foot-thick walls, so it impossible to stream anything.
Except for the noise, this apartment could be wonderful. It only requires regular maintenance and occasional refurbishment for weary appliances and kitchen basics - washing of house fabrics, a mattress pad that actually fits the queen mattress instead of coming off and bunching, someone coming in weekly to dust the furniture, change the sheets, vacuum the floors, providing cleaning and usable cooking tools, toilet paper, towels, an accessible and fully functioning washing machine, and an in-apartment router, perhaps even a flat screen so that guests could connect their laptops and stream a movie after long days of walking and museum-going.
Listing was accurate. Better in real life than in photos. Spacious, opulent yet a comfortable and homey respite from the crowds in Rome. When it was 32 degrees outside, once we stepped into the building, it was like walking into a lovely cool oasis. Lots of space to relax. Amenities as listed. We did not use the aging washing machine but were told it works. Coffee, tea, sugar, tinned tomatoes, jars of beans and one toilet roll provided ( nil dishwashing detergent ). Very clean and well maintained apartment. Loved the linen sheets. Good wifi. Excellent customer service and communication from Dorotea and Giorgio from HomeandBoatItaly.com Friendly owner with family and cat next door ( shared entrance ). Highly recommended to everyone - hoping to stay there on future trips to Rome. Exceptionally convenient location to walk to Campo De Fiori, Piazza Navona, Pantheon. At least 3 small supermarkets very nearby - our favourite was Co-Op at Corso Rinascimento 7. PAM supermarket is downstairs and Carrefours in street behind. All are good. Enoteca Cul De Sac was great for inexpensive dinner. Frigidarium in the street behind the apartment - for gelato is a must - join the queue! Caffe San Eustacchio is famous for coffee - near Pantheon. Il Fornaiao Bakery, Via Dei Baullari, 5 for Sfogliatelle ( Campania shell shaped pastry ). Used a local TIM sim card in our phone to help us find buses etc to visit other areas of Rome eg. Testaccio Market. Convenient Express Bus 40 to/from Termini from downstairs at Chiesu Nuova stop. Convenient location to walk to the Vatican and Prati district. Liked www.romecabsbooking.com shared shuttle service to/from airport.
After a week at Liliana I felt like I had actually lived in Rome and hated to leave. It was a comfortable and welcoming residence, featuring multiple rooms, tasteful furnishings, owner personal belongings and family pictures, grand marble staircase, very comfortable bed and fully functioning utilities. Sharing an entrance hall with the owner only increased our sense of intimacy. It is near many restaurants, piazzas and sites of interest. Next door is a grocery store and the Ciesa Nuova bus stop and a taxi stand, making the Vatican and ancient Rome just moments away.
It was perfect, very comfortable, close to major attaractions and main thing is warm welcome in the apartment. Owner lives in side apartment, very helpful and friendly. The apartment is beautiful, lot of decorations, feel of authentic italian home. Just loved it :))
If you want to visit Rome, staying in grandeur, feeling like a native aristocrat, this is your place in a perfect location. The flat is beautifully decorated with high ceelings and antique furnitures. The building is proud and old, with a breath-taking entrance part and the owner of the house is very hospitable and friendly. The whole atmosphere adds to the magic feeling of Rome and its treasures. We stayed there with our young daughter, and it worked perfectly, but as a couple, in all ages this is a true romantic treat, but I would for sure also stay there again with my sister or girlfriends. The sooner the better!
To stay at this apartment was a great choice. This apartment is very near to the heart of Rom which is for me Piazza Navona
In this apartment as you're surrounded with the sublime and soulful furniture of a Native Roman family and this makes you feel not only on the conscious but also on the subconscious level in Rome, To stay here was a much better option than to check in the sterile and cultureless environment of an hotel. This apartment penetrates your soul and you start to think that you are the main actor in an Italian movie ( and you wonder why you can't speak Italian). Even though you're not allowed to drink, the owner has a great champagne collection. Even to contemplate the collection fills your heart with warmth.?f you like cats to play with the neighbor's cheerful cat Cleo is included also in the price.
Living in this apartment is a real treat: If you pass by the charming little restaurants, cafés and boutiques, you can quickly - within 3 minutes - be at Piazza Navona where you can admire Bernini’s masterpiece “The Fountain of the Four Rivers”. Or if you prefer walking over to Piazza Farnese with its magnificent two fountains from the Baths of Caracalla and the French Embassy residing in the beautiful Palazzo Farnese that is also only a 5 minute walk.
You could also opt for an early start “sinking” into the tasty world of fresh Italian produces at Rome’s most lively and multifaceted square, the Campo de’ Fiori, which, as well is only a 3 minute walk from your door.
It is here that every morning stall-holders set up their stands and sell fresh fruit and vegetables and many more delicious products from Italy at the daily market. And in the evening, Campo de’ Fiori becomes the place where young and old meet up to start the long Roman nights…
This apartment is really the ideal daily starting point to discover the Eternal City’s abundant sightseeing by foot: within 10 minutes you can reach the awe-inspiring Pantheon, the Temple of Gods built more than 2000 years ago.
From there, the legendary Trevi Fountain where Anita Ekberg took her famous bath is just a stone’s throw away. Then you can either proceed on to the stunning Spanish Steps and to Piazza del Popolo dominated by one of Rome’s 13 obelisks or, to the opposite direction, to Piazza Venezia with the breathtaking white monument to Victor Emanuel II.
Right behind this square, the Ancient part of the Eternal City awaits you: be it the Forum Romanum, the Colosseum where gladiators fought for their lives, the Palatine Hill – said to be Rome’s birthplace - or the Circus Maximus where chariot racing took place. Last but not least, from your apartment also Castel Sant’Angelo and Saint Peter’s can be easily reached within a 10 - 15 minute walk.
From here, you can stroll along the impressive walls that surround Vatican City and you can be at the world’s most famous museum within 5 minutes: the Vatican Museum with Michelangelo’s wonderful frescos in the Sistine Chapel.
