Why Steve Walker chose Lake Tahoe West Shore CA

Grandma Walker bought it for our vacation home. We are constantly updating and improving it. We just added a huge covered deck that connects to 3 sides of the home.

What makes this cabin unique

The area along the side of our Lake, 4 houses away, has the longest stretch of public beach to walk along on the entire lake. We love to take walks in the morning and evening, or bike along side the Lake. People come from all over just to be able to take long walks, bike, and picnic. Out back, you can hike or bike along the road near Blackwood Creek. Our neighborhood is very quiet, and peaceful. Our back yard is flat. The neighborhood annual party is always in our back yard. We host about 50 people. 'The Honneymoon House' is it's nick name. There have been several weddings in our back yard.

Ideal place to relax with friends

  • 5 of 5

It will be an understatement to say that we found a gem hidden away from the crowd around Lake Tahoe. Steve is prompt and always courteous and helpful in his replies. We went with a bunch of friends and had a great time playing cards and chatting around the fireplace. The pool room in the basement was a great surprise! There is also a private pier only available to this house and presumably some more around the block. We also went for boating and other activities in the lake, but honestly it's worth the time just staying back and chilling out at the cabin. Thanks for the memories :)

Friends reunion/getaway

  • 4 of 5

Cozy, rustic cabin, incredible deck and backyard.......nothing but trees and lakeview peeks. Lake and private pier 1/2 block stroll. Cook's kitchen, great wi-fi , short drive to the action in Tahoe City, wonderful, quiet neighborhood. We enjoyed every minute there!

Relaxing getaway from kids and men

  • 4 of 5

It was colder than expected, still had a bit of snow on the ground, and the water level was higher in the lake than I'd been used to the past couple of years so we didn't get to picnic on the beach like we wanted, but the porch was a fabulous alternative.we still got to stick our feet in the ice cold water of the lake off the dock.

Power outage effected stay dramatically

  • 2 of 5

Because the power was out, they were not able to have clean linens, any electricity, or water. We toughed it out one night hoping the power would be restored, ended up renting a condo in town for the remainder of vacation. Likely would be a great place with power & water, although the coffee table in the living room fell apart, and one of the lazy boys got stuck in open position.

Quaint Rustic Cabin

  • 5 of 5

Great old charm cabin with all the modern conveniences require to make our stay comfortable. Close location to Homewood ski resort made it easy to get out for a day of skiing. The Tahoe national forest behind the house made for great walks. Overall great stay.

Exactly what we were looking for!! Unpretentious and comfortable!! Traditional Tahoe!!

  • 5 of 5

Loved the layout from the access to the lake, the backyard trails to the floor plan of the home!! Older home with some obvious upgrades! Upgrades were where it counted... the deck, the 3rd floor and the bathrooms! They have everything you can imagine! Stairs are very steep so I would not recommend to anyone with bad knees... home was clean and Steve is incredible!! Very quiet neighborhood and the neighbors we did meet seemed very friendly! Home was perfect for our family!! Loved having 2 thermostats and 2 fireplaces with the 17 degree weather we had during our stay!! We love the new homes with all the bells and whistles but when you stay in a house like this you feel like you are home!! Nothing is overdone in this home and the rooms are small but never once did I feel like it was to small and I have 3 boys!!! We will be staying here again! Close to Homewood Resort, Squaw/Alpine Resort and go try the fish tacos at Sunnyside that is only 5 minutes away!!! Wow!!!! Thank you Steve and Rosie!!!! Best Christmas ever was in your home!!!

We're located in Skyland on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe between Sunnyside and Homewood. We're just four doors up from the Lake where we have access to a private beach and pier. You can go cross country skiing or hiking right out the back door since we back up to the Kaspian State Park.
