Private parking (the car is not essential - 200 m from the train station).
The beaches of fine sand or pebble 10 min walk.
From home, nature walks: hermitage of Consolation (possible picnic), the mill (from the Middle Ages and restored) tower Madeloc, Port-Vendres, coastal path.
Many visits on the spot: Fort St Elme, Royal Castle (take the bridge of the seaside which by-passes it and which leads you to the various beaches) and of Notre Dame des anges, the church with feet in the water.
You can walk the path of Fauvism, tour punctuated by reproductions of 19 Matisse and Derain works performed in Collioure.
The Spanish border 20 km from the beautiful Corniche Road that runs through Port-Vendres, Banyuls and Cerbère Rosas, Cadaques (Dali countries).
Do not forget the small cemetery, at the entrance, the tomb of Antonio Machado, Andalusian poet, symbol of the Retirada (retreat of the Spanish Republicans who fled the Franco regime).
Do not leave without sampling the cuisine, specialties of Collioure, anchovies prepared the way Colliourenque, fresh fish of the Mediterranean, the AOC Collioure and Banyuls high in a land of exception and for dessert, delicious crisp.
In two hours by road (118 km) you wait the Font Romeu heights (1800 m) where you can discover the Pyrenees and the ski resorts. Continuing your route you can visit Andorra (166 km from Collioure) its high mountain scenery, beautiful and attractive shops ..
