Easily the worst experience I’ve ever had with a rental. Upon arrival, I felt ridiculed and made fun of while handing over the deposit. I don’t speak French, but I can pick up on the energy in a room and read body language, and it was clear we weren’t being treated with respect.
Communication was nonexistent—I texted the provided number to request towels (which you had to pay extra for), ask for the Wi-Fi, and request a later checkout, but never received a response. On top of that, we were expected to deep clean the entire place before leaving. While we absolutely cleaned up, it still didn’t seem to meet the host’s standards, though these expectations were never made clear.
The shower head was broken, so we either had to hold it above our heads or place it on the ground while showering, which was ridiculous for a rental at this price point. We were also left with no toilet paper, which is just basic hospitality.
The worst part? The host barged into our room unannounced and rushed us out, accompanied by a random man who seemed to be there for intimidation. It was me, my friend, and our girlfriends, and we all felt extremely uncomfortable being forced out onto the street like that.
