Third time staying at these properties. We have loved every time! Clean and comfortable rentals that are dog friendly. Off the beaten path so you have privacy and a wonderful view of Lake Michigan sunsets.
We love these rentals. Frankfort is wonderful and close to Crystal Mountain in the winter months as well as everything outside in the summer. Thank you for sharing your properties!

Amazing location - okay stay
The building does NOT have AC, which means windows open at all times for our mid-summer stay. Which means we could hear every conversation/dog bark in the adjacent unit and every bit of noise from the huge party held next door. 30+ drunk kids celebrating a graduation party make a lot of noise and sleeping was tough.
In addition, we chose this property in large part due to it's beach access. Erosion on the lake has broken off the stairs to the beach, so it is now beach view, not beach access. The erosion is not under control of the property management, but they either need to fix the steps or change the listing to clarify that the beach is not accessable.

Thank you for the feedback. The huge party next door was a group celebrating with a family reunion for theirs dads 60th Birthday, not drunken kids celebrating graduation. We do have quite hours 10p-7a and would have addressed the issues if we were aware.
It was recommended we close the stairs down our 350' bluff temporarily in mid-June for safety reasons and we posted that on our sites. We have been working with engineers and hope to have them accessible as soon as we can.
We had a great weekend with amazing views right out the windows! We couldn't find a broom or vacuum and would have loved to have one to clean up after ourselves better.
We stayed at this proper for a week in February. Waking up and seeing how the lake changed each day was a highlight. We had everything we needed to rest, relax, & just veg out for a week. It was glorious!
This property was the perfect venue to host our intimate family-only wedding. 21 family members comfortably stayed here (Spruce & Poplar) - it was relaxing, spacious, and ideally laid out!
We loved location and views. Close to many cute towns and good restaurants. The best part was that there were a few days we had entire property to ourselves. My brother and sister-in-law came over from Cadillac to spend a few days with us. It was a nice time.
This is exactly what we wanted. A quiet beautiful setting for a long weekend out of town. The place was immaculate and fully stocked with everything we needed. We got lucky and had the entire property to ourselves. It might have been weird to share with other vacationers but maybe not! And being late April it didn’t matter to us that there was no lake access. Wish we could have stayed longer! Thank you!
We really enjoyed our stay at Poplar. Clean and very well-stocked, with comfortable beds. The views from the bluff and the shared deck are spectacular. We saw some fantastic sunsets. There was nobody else in the adjacent houses, so we had privacy. A grocery store and restaurants in Frankfort were a 5-7 min drive away.
Our only hiccup was that internet was a bit slow and erratic the first couple of days, which made it tough to do some work-related calls. But the owners were *very* responsive, and suggested alternative options (e..g, offered us alternate spaces). We will be back!
Amazing location, accommodation and our stay which was out of season. We had a quiet time with the beautiful views and many gorgeous trails around. Thank you for allowing us to stay at the Poplar apartment.
We rented the suite above the garage in one of 3 houses, which were tucked away on Lake Michigan's bluff. The most amazing sunset met us when we arrived, which is easily the best view in the midwest. The suite was modern, and the kitchen was stocked with plates, silverware, and the pizza pan we needed. The beds were comfortable, everything was clean, and we were even surprised to see a washer and dryer upstairs. Hosts made reservations, and our check-in super easy.
Nice proximity or a short drive to downtown Frankfort too - it felt remote but accessible to the town. Will definitely return.

It was nice to have a basket of toiletries in the bathrooms if there was something forgotten,{toothbrush paste, shampoo} Kitchen was well stocked with plenty of dishes pots and pans .{their should be more skillet type pans or even a griddle would be nice } Lots of space around the house . plenty of bathrooms. house stayed nice and warm even being right on the lake and wind. We would definitely recommend staying here. Loved it.

Lovely home! Great get away. Perfect place to relax, unwind, walk, read, take in the beautiful views, walk and recharge from a busy life! The hosts are thoughtful - a terrific vacation!
We learned 3 days into our stay that a wedding was taking place as multitudes of people and cars started to show up on property (more than the property should legally accomodate). What started out as a beautiful, peaceful stay turned loud and disruptive. The property manager ended up refunding our final night's charge when we said we were leaving early. They said that they normally inform guests up front/in advance about large groups of other guests being on property at the same time in the spirit of full disclosure. Apparently, they sent us a message through VRBO the same day we were en route to check in! We didn't get that message timely, unfortunately. It is a beautiful place and we might try it again, but the property manager needs to get its act together! We should have known weeks in advance of this disturbance so that we could have planned appropriately.
What a beautiful property and facility - 5 stars all around! I couldn't be more happy with everything at Lake Bluff Preserve. The views of the lake high above from the bluff are absolutely stunning and can be viewed from the windows of the house, outside the back door with plenty of room to roam, and the landing deck a short walk from the house puts you right on the water's edge. Enjoyed the sunset from this vantage point every night! The house was fresh, new and very clean and had everything one would need for a comfortable stay. The property managers were welcoming at check in, quickly responded to some initial questions I had and were very friendly and accommodating of any additional needs during our stay. It felt like a home away from home inside the house but you knew you were somewhere special once you stepped outside the door to enjoy the views! The drive up to the property itself on a winding driveway passing through evergreens and cedars made it feel even more special and tucked away from any busy roads - very tranquil and quiet. The only sounds you can hear are the waves from the lake and wildlife. Highly, highly recommend this hidden gem whether for a weekend getaway, a family vacation or a large group event as the grounds can accommodate it all. Will definitely be returning again! Thank you to everyone at Lake Bluff Preserve for being such wonderful hosts.
Couldnt ask for a better property location right on the coast of Lake Michigan. Important to note that there is no AC however this was not an issue for us even in the beginning of August as we opened windows and used fans at night which kept everyone cool. Also important to note that there are multiple houses/apartments connected. For half our stay we were next to 20-25 people who had 8-10 cars and were less than pleasant/entered our property multiple times "by mistake." Might be worth looking at what is booked next door if you do not have the whole property to yourself. But overall a wonderful location and close to a lot of the sites and trails that Frankfort has to offer!
We enjoyed our stay overlooking Lake Michigan! Only complaint was that the neighboring unit’s use of marijuana one night was definitely noticeable through the back windows of our unit.
Doesn't get any better for a lake Michigan view. High up on a bluff with unobstructed views! Close to town, very modern amenities. Private and quiet........secluded! Will definitely come back.

Why they chose this property
Lake Bluff Preserve is special because of the land and beauty of the Lake Michigan shoreline and South/West exposure. There are opportunities to find total seclusion or interact with fellow guests in the two other free-standing homes on the bluff.
What makes this property unique
Sweeping Lake Michigan vistas and nightly sunsets make this a very special place to vacation. Stunning views that show why the "Third Coast" is amazing.
