Welcome to your next home-away-from-home here at Cougar Camp! This wonderfully decorated vacation home is located in the popular Deer Mountain area, located close to all the Northern Hills recreational activities. Recreational Springs is within 1 mile of the property, where you can connect up with the local ATV and snowmobile trails and ride to your hearts desire! Looking to do some sightseeing? Spearfish Canyon, with it's beautiful ponds, streams, canyon walls, caves and hike is within a 5 minute drive from the property. You can also enjoy some local food at Cheyenne Crossing at the entrance to Spearfish Canyon - this location is hard to beat! Deadwood and Terry Peak are all within 15 minutes from the property, while Ski Mystic Miner is only 1 mile away as well! Feeling a bit more adventurous, Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Keystone and Custer are within a 45 minute drive from the property. There's so many options to enjoy the Black Hills from this location, Cougar Cabin works great for your base camp while you explore.

After taking in the sites you'll love coming home to this cabin sanctuary. You'll enjoy the local wildlife roaming through the yard, the beautiful starry skies, wind blowing through the ponderosa pines all while you take it in from the new hot tub! A gas fire pit and gas heater (on deck) also brings you to enjoy the outdoors at this wonderful cabin. The log cabin and alluring wood accents will have you loving the cozy feel, while you cuddle up and kick your feet up by the fire while you enjoy your company. The open concept makes it easy to gather with your family & friends and make new memories. With 2 bedrooms and an open loft used as a bedroom, there's enough room to spread out for smaller groups and 6 total beds if you plan to travel with some family/friends. There's a king bed in the main floor master bedroom, 3 full beds in the bunk room, and 2 twin beds in the loft. The living room opens up into the deck area where you're surrounding by pine trees and can enjoy grilling out and laughing with your friends. Finally, you'll enjoy the garage to store your motorcycles, ATVs, and snowmobiles when you're relaxing at the cabin. With all of these amenities, you'll enjoy the convenience to local adventures and have a great place to come back to. Great stay!

Our stay was fantastic, property manager was great and quick to respond with all questions. Only complaint was that the property was very overgrown with weeds including the walking path from the front entry way around to the porch with the hot tub and grill. Other than that everything was great

South Dakota Vaca

It was terrific, nice and quiet and only minutes to Lead-Deadwood. We are from San Antonio, Texas and when we got some snow on Friday, we watched it for hours. Thanks again for a terrific spot!

Girl’s weekend for long distance friends

We drove from Oakes, ND and Steamboat, CO and met in Lead, SD and stayed at the Cougar Cabin. We were very impressed from the minute we drove up! Beautiful property and such a serene setting. The cabin was beautiful and very clean! Rooms were great as was the rest of the cabin! Loved hot tubbing in the morning while the sun rose.Thanks for helping us make some amazing memories!!

Great for family

We really enjoyed this cabin & it was perfect for our family of 4. Plenty of space. Wi-if is a little bit of a problem. Cozy & clean. Would definitely stay here again!

The location of the property was great. The house was well equipped and decorated very nice. We did have some hot water issues but it was rectified.

Cougar stay

The hot water downstairs and water pressure did not work. Also the screen door is ripped and the one green chair slat was ripped. Overall location and the cabin was cozy. Nice to be close to Deadwood 😊

Our first Vrbo stay

Snowmobiling in SD was just what our family needed! We chanced the early reservation and hoped for snow! We had a great time! We enjoyed our relaxing, comfortable stay at the Cougar Camp! We had lots of open space, comfortable beds and furniture. The cabin was very well supplied with towels, kitchen utensils, etc. Our few days on the trails and staying at the cabin exceeded our expectations!

very nice cabin

Northern hills getaway

Very comfortable cabin. Looks even better than the pictures. Fire pit and hot tub came in handy along with the Weber grill. Wish we could have stayed longer. Beautiful area and can’t wait to come back again. Had a few minor issues but a quick text to Budi and he answered our questions. Highly recommended if you are looking for a place to relax or go out for some adventure.

Family weekend

Beautiful cabin, very easy to find. Love the setup and layout inside. Only suggestion would be maybe have a few more pots and pans for cooking. Had to improve bit. The exterior of the cabin could use a little work also. Other than that it was a great place to stay.

Yearly Riding Vacation

We have been coming to the hills for a lot of years and the Cougar Cabin has been by far the nicest property we’ve stayed at. Great riding location for UTV’s, hiking and relaxing. The cabin had everything a person needs, from a blender to grill seasonings. We used some things and left some for the next family. Beds super comfortable, never ran out of hot water, the hot tub was amazingly spotless and nice. Peaceful sitting on the deck in the mornings and evening. Property owner was super nice and accommodating, we will stay here again for certain.

It's close enough to the highway to have easy access, yet tucked back in the trees so that you still feel secluded. It's a clean, cozy, comfortable retreat.We did have a bit of an issue with the hot water and the internet. The hot water wasn't a big deal, just a minor inconvenience. The internet was disappointing because I specifically asked about it prior to booking; I'm meeting with patients via video conference and I wanted to keep those appointments while we were at the cabin. Unfortunately, the internet was too slow for that. Additionally, the materials at the cabin specifically state that video streaming is not permitted with that type of internet. I was able to cancel and reschedule appointments and it was not a huge problem, but I would have booked a different cabin if I had known.
