Swimmers find the surf mild enough for casual swimming but also lively enough for some body surfing.
The views are spectacular of neighboring islands and ocean rock formations and the Black Point area is fraught with remnants of the French & Indian War and the skirmishes that took place.

Close to the Water
We loved the house and found it comfortable and very close to a beautiful stretch of beach. Everything was well-cared for. There were four adults in our group and we had room for dinner guests as well.
The property was perfectly located - comfy - and easy.
We had a great time hopping to our favorite beaches and using the smaller, private neighborhood beach associated with the property as well. It was a great stay!
We were very pleasantly surprised by how much nicer the home actually is than was portrayed in the on-line photos. The house was spacious, very well appointed, and immaculate - a perfect place from which to enjoy the attractions of both the nearby beach areas and the city of Portland.
a little corner of heaven
Our stay at 4 Kirkwood Circle was a glorius summer vacation. The private beach provided us with a peaceful environment and the proximity to Portland gave us easy access to the cities features. The spacious home was comfortable and clean and was equipted with everything we could need including beach umbrellas and chairs, floats, etc. The half mile beach walk to the Black Point Inn provided a pleasant adventure to enjoy fine dining with a spectacular ocean view.
Amazing Place To Get Away
The Property was very well maintained, it was very clean & felt just like home. Very comfortable feel to the house, just a small walk to the beach, very safe neighborhood. The beach was absolutely gorgeous set privately as well. Absolutely loved the deep jacuzzi tub. Will most definitely be coming back.
Perfect beach getaway.
We enjoyed our stay at Scarborough beach. The beach house was very comfortable, roomy and had very good access to probably the best beach in the area. You can easily walk to the beach and we enjoyed going to the beach and looking for shells and sea glass. We even found sand dollars and sea stars!
Prouts Neck is an exceptional destination. Located on an isthmus of land in Scarborough, Maine, it is the former home and inspiration for Winslow Homer, the famous American painter. The house from which he worked is located shortly up the road at Black Point. The property is located in an exclusive beach community and is a stone's throw up a private pathway to Scarborough Beach. The white sands of the beach stretch for a mile or so and afford beachgoers ample scenery for art work or just a quiet and secluded place to enjoy the sun, surf and sand. It is located about 15 minutes from the major city of Portland and the Old Seaport that houses a variety of gift shops, restaurants, especially seafood restaurants and is the departure terminal for The Bluenose Ferry as well as a variety of other ocean excursions. For baseball fans you may also have the opportunity to watch the Portland Sea Dogs, a double A farm team for the Boston Red Sox.
