A quaint farmhouse, very clean, nicely decorated, private.
Cheryl and Tom have done an awesome job restoring the family's farmhouse. My husband and I felt quite at home when we entered this clean, nicely decoated farmhouse. The owners have thought of everything to make your stay enjoyable. A private place off the main road made it nice as well. Cheryl was quick to respond when asked questions such as local eateries. I highly recommend this farmhouse if you are in the area and looking for a nice place.

We were looking for a quiet place outside the tourist hustle and bustle but close enough to enjoy day trips into the Smoky Mountains. Hester House was the perfect solution. Not your typical mountain rental, I loved the country farmhouse feel. Then I read Cheryl’s story and knew it was what I was looking for. Only a home with years of family and love could be this great.
When we arrived we were more than impressed. They thought of everything to make us feel at home. We were immediately relaxed. The linens were wonderful. I can’t think of a thing they failed to provide. The things I forgot, they had remembered. The worst thing was deciding on which porch to sit for coffee. Loved the goats and horse! I hope to return soon for a longer stay.
I also really appreciated the lack of a ‘check-out check list’ of things to do to before you leave. I never like the stress of possibly forgetting something.
We enjoyed our visit. The grandchildren liked playing tag and visiting with the animals. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a place that has the feel of visiting your aunt and uncle on the farm
We had a relaxing visit and would recommend this vrbo to anyone. We were greeted with amazing hospitality and super friendly goats, chickens, and a horse! Two awesome hosts made this an extra special visit!
Chickens, goats and the horse shadow were a plus for the grandkids. Location was good so the kiddos could play in the yard. Fire pit was a plus as well , we made s’mores. Antique furniture made you feel like a step back in time but the property is well kept. Would recommend for anyone needing to escape off the beaten path to rest and relax while in the madisonville area.
We stayed in the farmhouse while visiting for a wedding.
The house is plain from the outside, but the inside has been lovingly restored and is beautifully decorated.
The backside of the house has the main entry. There are steps as well as a disabled ramp, which was great for our senior dog.
If you have forgotten anything, it's likely already in the farmhouse, from shampoo to snacks to apples for the beautiful horse who visits the back gate each day.
Highly recommended!
We loved staying at Cheryl's home. It is a wonderful place to stay, relaxing and very well kept home. Cheryl is an awesome host and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect! Cheryl and Tom's retreat will definitely be at the top of our favorites list!
Very quaint house. All the amenities. Host supplies many small conveniences for guests. Would definitely stay here again

Cozy little farmhouse
We stayed with our 2 dogs for 2 nights and loved how charming and spotlessly clean the interior was. We could tell there was a massive amount of thought and effort put into the amenities provided (from basic toiletries to bath bombs!) as well as the newly remodeled interior and decor. Even though it was raining for our stay, the house provided us with the perfect setting for enjoying a lazy day inside, from games to Netflix and extra throw blankets. You will feel like you are in a hobbit house, very comfortable, and gated. Cheryl was great with making sure we had everything we needed and was very personable. Will hopefully stay again!

Absolutely Charming!
Cheryl and her husband have done an awesome job making this farmhouse feel comfortable and cozy. She's taken the time to provide special extras that make travelers feel super welcomed and cherished. After meeting her and hearing more about the property, I can't wait to come back and see what other improvements have been made on this great 5 acre farm!
