Villa La Paiola is an ideal location for lovers of nature , of well-being, the spot for travelers to explore the Etruscan sites and medieval villages, for those who love food and wine discoveries. The proximity of Rome allows you to organize frequent visits to the Vatican. In addition, the area has a significant ornithological interest, given the presence of several species of predators. Birdwatching is possible practice from the garden of the Suite.
Sporting equipment: kayak, canoe and bike can be rented at the lake. The beaches and green banks of the lake are very comfortable and well equipped to accommodate tourists, families with children.
My passions: family, travel, good food, elegance.
As a guest I am looking for: comfort, landscape, atmosphere and good restaurant nearby.
They are the same qualities, which I want to offer to my guests of the Country House Villa la Paiola near Rome. Which for 20 years, along with my wife and our talented employees, we were able to make that become a 'little oasis' in the countryside of Rome. Summer pool, the two maxi outdoor Jacuzzis, breathtaking views, Wi-Fi. To offer, above all, well-being. To feel the energy of the Etruscan Land. To discover extraordinary places created by the greatest artists of the Italian history. But above all, to relax.
Your home with garden near Rome is ready and waiting for you.
Paolo & Alena purchased this apartment in 1995
Our property is located just around Rome, inside the Natural Park of Vico lake. The absolute quiet of this location and stunning view of the lake enchant us and our family every time we go there.
Thats because we've decided to share all that with other lovers of such and pure natural environment.
'Just a quick to say thanks for wonderful holiday. The villa was lovely with amazing views, your welcome was very warm and informative and helped us to get a feel for this beautiful part of Italy. We hope to come and stay again and recommend this area and your villa to friends...'Andrea & Mark , UK, 2006.
'Hello just a line to say thank you for all your help and to say that the flat was lovely and will recommend it, what a wonderfull find for us on the internet this fantastic place...'tris Paula, John , Patricia from France, 2006
'I must say, how much we enjoyed our stay at Villa La Paiola, the apartment was lovely and the view from our door was wonderful. In fact the whole experience was excellent!' Dorothy UK 2006.
Fantastic views of the countryside and the lake. An excellent choice for a quiet, relaxing holiday yet good position for exploring local villages and sights. Hosts very welcoming and provided a good map of the local area and a guidebook. Plenty of parking. Excellent pool which was never busy, we often had it to ourselves! Great views from the garden and the pool. House very clean, could have done with more hot water as not able to have two consecutive warm showers; needed to wait for the water to reheat!
One thing that could be improved is having a BBQ int he private garden or even a communal BBQ.
Would definitely recommend, would return with no hesitation.
When we arrived at the villa and drove down the driveway after a very long day of travelling I could only say wow!
What an amazing first impression. The view is stunning and the photos on the website do not do it justice. After a warm greeting from Alena, she took me to our one bedroom villa and I was not disappointed. It's very well equipped and spotlessly clean. The garden is very private and a lovely place to sit and eat whatever time of day. It's so peaceful and we rarely bumped into any of the other holiday makers and usually had the pool to ourselves! Which also has stunning views!
The area itself has a lot to offer. Ronciglione is close by as is Viterbo. Both worth visiting. You will need a car as there was nowhere close by to walk to safely (our only criticism)
The town of Orieto is definitely worth a visit. Beautiful cobbled streets with lovely shops and restaurants and not forgetting the stunning churches. After excellent directions from Alena we visited Rome twice during our week and the park and ride is easy and cheap. Lago di Vico is a short drive and has lots to offer too if you fancy a swim in the lake.
I would definitely return and highly recommend it to anyone!
A relaxing place to stay with an amazing view! Very welcoming hoasts. Great location to explore Rome and the local area.
We stayed in the one bedroom Rosa. Very comfortable, well furnished and well equipped, clean and tidy. Nice private garden that caught the sun all day. The Villa is in a lovely location and well situated on a hillside overlooking the lake. The gardens are well kept and are very attractive. While we were there we had almost continuous sunshine, hot during the day but cooling in the evening to a comfortable temperture for alfresco dining. Alena, Paulo and Romano were incredibly welcoming and helpful, and at least one of them was always available. The nice beaches of the lake are about 2 or 3km away with the sort of facilities you would expect from an Italian Lido. The surrounding region is very attractive and not difficult for driving. The towns of Ronciglione and Caprarola are only about 3km away with restaurants, cafes, supermarkets, some shops and attractive 'old towns'. There are lots of other medieval villages within about 10km that are well worth a visit. The city of Viterbo is about 15km away with a lovely old town, a very nice and varied shopping area, and a wide choice of restaurants. And of course the sights of Rome are not beyond reach, with easy parking at the large but cheap 'Park and Ride' facility an easy 50 min drive from the Villa. We wouldn't hesitate to return.
Our first time in Italy and we were fortunate enough to base ourselves at Villa La Paiola. This is the place for you if you are seeking rural Italy and like to explore by day but return to a place of tranquility to watch the sun drop spectacularly behind the stunning mountains that frame the lake... I could sit there forever watching the lake turn from orange to silver and develop a drinking habit! The view is simply breath-taking and the evening sunset floods the small but comfortable sitting area with a warmth that seems almost healing.... not that we ever sat inside. What a way to relax and leave behind the stresses of everyday living!
The apartment was quite small but cosy, clean and entirely adequate for our week's stay. Our hosts were welcoming, helpful and charming, giving advice for getting to Rome by train (cheap and easy) and places to park the car next to the station (about £1 all day!) The gardens were well kept and colourful; our seating area very intimate, but then who needs more when beyond the low stone wall is a place of outstanding natural beauty as far as the eye can see! There are so few houses on Lake Vico because it is a national park and so the views are totally unspoilt.
There was so much to see in the villages within a 50km radius that we struggled to visit it all and get the relaxation balance right; old Etruscan burial grounds, a 'ghost' settlement high in the mountains, Lake Bracciano where Tom Cruise recently got married, Rome, of course, and much more. And the pizzas in Viterbo at Il Monastero were so huge that each one was spread over two plates - delicious and excellent value! The lake was great to swim in; clean and appeared to be quite safe. It was picturesque and a novelty to be sunbathing in a 'meadow' setting on the shore of a large lake with spectacular mountain scenery. We found a car essential.
We will be back but next time with friends and extended family (would have liked it to be with Tom Cruise, but sadly Katie beat me to it!) The villa is ideal for this as it has been divided into several small apartments. If you are looking for large living accommodation you might be disappointed - if you are looking for clean, friendly, very adequate facilities with the most stunningly beautiful scenery, you most certainly will not!
Great location with an amazing view of the lake which produced stunning sunsets. Alena provided a very warm welcome and gave us some great tips on places to go. Location was quiet but was not too far from local villages and towns. Car is essential as no shops in walking distance and public transport very unreliable. The property had all the main essentails and was clean and cosy. Rooms good size and fit for purpose. An Italian phrase book essential or a basic knowledge of the language as very little english spoken but this added to the atmsophere.
The area of the Cimini Mountains only 50km North of Rome, is known as the 'small Switzerland of Lazio' and was choosen for its picturesque landscape by noble roman family Farnese in XV Century for building of the Palazzo Farnese at Caprarola, Villa Lante attracts visitors with its fountains and renaissance park. This is a very interesting part of Italy.Located just a few minutes drive from the best known tourist and archeological sites of the region: Tuscania,Tarquinia,Cerveteri, Monsters Park of Bomarzo.Guests combine relaxing with a book in front of the lake or admiring coloured sunsets over the lake with sporting activities such as canoeing or pedalos on the lake or horse riding in the valley. The sights of Rome are only 50 minutes away. During spring and summer there are many local sagre (Festivals) For a taste of the real Italian life.
