Why Christa Murch & Jack Falitico chose Port Charlotte
1)This property is centrally located to stores, restaurants, beaches, fishing pier and nature park, also a dog run park within walking distance. In fact, you really don't need a car if you want to stay near the house. You can reach many places within 1 mile by foot or by bicycle ( that is supplied ) . There are walk ways and bicycle trails around this area. 2) This property offers maximum privacy and features a swimming pool, a hot tub and is located directly on a saltwater canal with a patio and a dock at the waterway. Fish right from the back yard. We also feature a gazebo for your outside dining and card playing . The gas BBQ provides outside cooking for the people who like to grill. You may invite your friends for a grill party under the stars. Enjoy yourself and make yourself at home. Many guests are returning year after year. 3) The home is light, open and cheerfully furnished with typical Florida Style furniture. We feature a fully equipped kitchen and full size laundry equipment. The home is fully tiled with white tile floors and therefor hygienic and allergy proof. House was nicely decorated, beds were comfortable. It was marginally clean upon arrival. Enjoyed the tranquility of the canal, steps leading down to it were steep and challenging for us. Enjoyed hot tub. Pool too cool to enjoy due to daily adding of cold water from outside hose due to a water leak of some kind. Lanai furniture was very comfortable.
Ants and palmetto bugs indoors constantly needed attending to via spraying at least every other day. Minimal lighting inside this home.
We loved our stay. The property is quiet and very private. The landscape is “old” Floridia. The property owners are responsive and very personable. We are looking forward to coming back.
This was our second year staying at this darling place. Love it!
Improvements since last year include new sofas, televisions and a dish washer. Love them all. The pool and spa tub are big pluses. This is a great place to chill between beach, restaurant and bar runs.
I gave this 4 stars because the beach/ ocean was quite a ways away. The "beach" that is located 1 mile away isn't an actual beach. It's a harbor with a small sandy area. The pool was great and Jack kept it clean daily. We were a bit disappointed because we didn't have any luck catching anything in the canal out back but there were plenty of fresh seafood markets with a huge variety of fish that we shopped at almost daily. The home was spacious and clean, and very close to all of your shopping needs. We enjoyed our 10 day stay!
Charming Florida Home
What a pretty and comfortable house!
We enjoyed it very much. Clean, well furnished, and had all we needed. Jack kept the beautiful pool clean. We loved the green trees and tropical plants behind the house. A charming place. Sure beats any hotel!
Adorable, Clean, Small Home.
We were told repeatedly that the closest beach was 15 minutes away. We go to Florida for the beaches, and to go shelling. The closest beach is Englewood & it took a good 35 minutes without traffic - with traffic it could take 45 minutes to an hour. It was my fault for not looking it up myself so I won't hold that against my review. Also, where the canal is right behind the house (which is beautiful and great for fishing) there were mosquitos everywhere, all hours of the day. As far as the house itself goes, it is very clean, well stocked, and perfect for 4 people and maybe a school aged child to sleep on the couch. We had 8 people in a 2 bedroom home (our fault) but we cuddled up and made it through the week just fine. Jack was super duper sweet and accommodating. He brought over two cots for my smaller kids, but unfortunately one of them was old and broke. I would not recommend trying to fit more people than recommended. The road is right off the main highway where all the stores and restaurants are. Very secluded yet 1/4 mile or less from anything you need. We saw a black snake in the bushes near the gazebo two days in a row, and we caught an alligator in the canal which was super awesome and exciting! If you're looking for a quiet small place, where you can relax, fish, and you don't care how close you are to beaches and have a good working can of bug spray - this place is a great choice. I can't forget to comment on the swimming pool, which was absolutely amazing and beautiful. It fit all 8 of us perfectlyr and was always the perfect temperature during the day and at night. Jack would come every morning and clean it, or work in his office, cut the grass, take trash to road, etc but we never were bothered by him and we loved having short sweet conversations with him. He made sure we didn't have any extra work to do. I gave this a 5 star rating because the house was exactly as described minus the mini ping pong table which wasn't there but is listed in the description (no biggy). Any negative elements that I've listed is due to personal opinion, or is my fault for not clarifying more detailed location aspects, etc. Overall, it was a great stay with a great host! I'll be staying closer to the shore next time around though!
