Fabulous Oceanfront Home

Bedrooms 3
Property type house
Minimum Stay 1 - 2 nights

About the property

3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, sleeps 12

Welcome to SeaQuest! Located just 5 miles west of High Island near Roll Over Pass with beautiful views of the beach and ocean this beautiful and spacious home is perfect for 1, 2 or 3 couples or a family or two.

The beach and ocean are a short, flat walk-about 200 feet from our door to the sandy beach. Or pack up the car with coolers, beach towels and chairs, boogie boards and the grill and drive right up to the beach. Spend the day walking the beach, fishing, shelling, building sand castles or just watching the dolphins frolic in the waves. Enjoy it-its your beach with the best shelling in all of Port Bolivar peninsula! Sip your first cup of coffee on the upper deck while watching the sun come up over the bay and return from the beach in time to enjoy a glass of wine while you watch the sun set.

The well appointed kitchen has everything you'll need for your stay: dinnerware, glassware, flatware, pots and pans, coffee maker, cookie sheets, etc. The kitchen table seats 8 plus two at the counter.

There is a huge dining room/living room combo with a wet bar for all or your entertaining needs.

Three large bedrooms with private baths. Two of the bedrooms have queen sized beds and the "kid's" room has two sets of bunk beds with double beds on the bottom and single beds on top.

The huge (1500 square feet) deck below the home comes with an assortment of furniture for your outdoor dining, relaxing pleasure. It offers incredible ocean views and sun or shade as you prefer. It also overlooks the very popular Audubon Wildlife area with a huge assortment of birds and other wild life.

There are lots of things to do on Bolivar peninsula: fine and casual dining, miniature golf, water parks, shopping, shelling or rent a golf cart for hours of beach combing.

Galveston Island is a short drive and (free) ferry ride away. You'll enjoy watching the dolphins and feeding the seagulls from the boat. Once in Galveston there is a myriad of things to do: duck boat ride, bike and segway rentals, golf, fishing, boating and castle tours, acres of beach and several parks: Sea Wolf, Pleasure Pier and the Schlitterbahn-the worlds largest water park.

Note:This is not a party house and is reserved for our more discerning guests who will appreciate and respect it.

Again: Welcome to SeaQuest where a life time of fond memories begin.

About Sharon Smolensky

Our beach home is owned by two couples from Burlington Wisconsin who have been life long friends and business partners. We particularly enjoy spending time in Texas with our children and grandchildren and really feel like the Bolivar Peninsula is our home away from home.

Sharon Smolensky purchased this house in 2005

Why Sharon Smolensky chose Bolivar Peninsula

While visiting my sister in Beaumont a few years ago we decided to spend the afternoon in Galveston. As we drove through Crystal Beach we fell in love with the area. We had SeaQuest built in 2005 and have been enjoying the fun, sun and warm hospitatlity of the Texas coast ever since.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Sharon, just a quick note to let you know how much we enjoyed SeaQuest. My group is still talking about what a perfect spot it was. We hope to stay there again next fall if you’ll have us.

I thought I’d share a representative picture of our fishing adventure. This is a photo of me off the beach near High Island, one of THIRTEEN fish like this that the 3 of us caught there last Friday morning! These big fish were all released, but we also fished in Rollover Bay and the marsh near Stingaree, and ended up enjoying 2 fish feasts there and still had redfish fillets to bring home to our families. It was a great trip, thanks for sharing your home with us!

Thanks Ken; Thanks for sharing that awesome picture; Please see Ken's picture on the main page under "photos". And yes! Please come again, anytime!

Our Favorite home away from home!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time! The house was clean, has new living room furniture, well appointed, and welcoming. Everything we needed was provided, the kids were excited to see a waffle maker, no other rental anywhere we have been has had one of those. It was a peaceful, quiet, and relaxing weekend. We found enough shells to make 6 lamps, and some of the shells were 4-5 inches across. This is and always will be our favorite home away from home. Thank you again.

Family get together

  • 4 of 5

I have just read some of the reviews from the past and totally DISAGREE with them all. This was one of the best times that I have had. We had all our kids and grandkids and the house was awesome. The weather didn't exactly cooperate. It was cold and windy but what do you expect for January. We were able to walk the beach one day with coats, gloves and toboggans which was great. We played card games and just had great family time. There was ample room so that everyone wasn't having to crowd around the tables. Everything was clean and plenty. I was concerned that I would need more pots and pans to cook with and probably over packed for the trip. I now know and hope to plan another trip. Maybe when it is warmer. Not sure about the ferry trip during the summer but will have to compensate for the wait either way.

Convenient and Homey

  • 5 of 5

The Gulf was not pleasant to us - the weather was cold and wet all week! Which made the home that much more comfortable! There was plenty of space for our family of five, and we could easily have had a second family stay with us. The property manager was quick to address some issues we had. The beach was right across the street, and the ferry to Galveston (which we rode several times) was a short drive. The area was extremely quiet, no subdivision of crazy spring-breakers - very peaceful. The kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans and cooking utensils, but be prepared to buy some cooking staples (flour, sugar, oils, condiments, etc) if you plan on cooking.

The beds were super-comfy, and the house was neat and clean. We'll be back - and hopefully next time we'll see the sun for more than 2 hours :-)
