The home had everything we needed for a wonderful weeks stay. Access to the beach just at the end of the road or the one just a 3 minute walk across the main road. We did rent the golf cart they offered, made trip to beach easier and used it to go all over town. Enjoyed fishing right there on the property. Any questions we had where answered promptly. We would stay here again.

Our 1 night stay was perfect for a weekend on the island. Easy communication with the property manager and owner. We enjoyed having easy boat access, and the home was very comfortable.

Beautiful Place!

We had a beautiful spring break vacation here! Island Shores is a great location! Just a short walk to the beach! We very much enjoyed the wagon and beach chairs that were there for our use!

Excellent property w so many amenities included and several beaches in walking distance. Our 15 yr old fished the entire time. Beaches were beautiful and not crowded.

I enjoyed the proximity to the gulf and the bay. We fished off the pier daily, and we used the golf cart to get around the island. That was very convenient. I was disappointed in the maintenance of the property. When I opened the door I immediately saw all the stains on the carpet. Since that was my first impression, I then began to wonder about everything else. Light bulbs were out in the kitchen and one of the bathrooms, one of the remotes for the bedroom TV did not work, and some of the deck boards were not properly supported and screws were not properly screwed flush causing a tripping hazard. This property has great potential, and it has a nice layout and location. It just needs attention paid to the details that make it a home away from home.

Book It!

This rental has everything you could need to cook, sleep well, go to the beach, and enjoy the canals. We stayed for a week and would have moved in if we could have! Plenty of space for 6 adults and 3 kids, making a true family reunion possible!

Alabama Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo

We came down for the Fishing Rodeo and to enjoy the island and its beautiful beaches — this house did not disappoint! It's located right on the canal, which was perfect for docking our boat and even swimming. The ladder made it super easy to get in and out of the water.The location couldn't be better — there's a beach within walking distance, and all the great restaurants and food spots are close by. One of the best features was the option to rent a golf cart with the stay — I highly recommend it for getting around the island with ease.We had an amazing time and can’t wait to come back!

By far one of the best places we have stayed!

It was our first trip to the island and needless to say, we were more than happy! The owner, Robert, was wonderful to work with.. the location was perfect and the home has everything you would need or want.. very clean.. beds slept great.. fully stocked kitchen with many extras, golf cart available.. very very very clean! We will definitely be back soon! HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Island Sounds Vaca

We had an absolutely wonderful time at Island Sounds!!! The owner and manager were both so helpful and very responsive! We loved the location, the property was perfect for our family!! They had a little things like toilet paper, laundry detergent, soap, coffee, spices and such to get you started. And the complimentary wine was a sweet extra touch! Plus extra boards and wagon for the beach. We would absolutely love to stay again!!

Rodeo 2020

We loved the place. Neighbor to the right is kind of a jerk but the ones to the left are GREAT & so helpful. The house is super cute and comfortable. It had everything we needed! Decor is perfection! I wanted all the decorations to go home with me! ☺️

Delightful little cottage

We loved our stay in Dauphin Island. The back porch was on a canal where you could fish and/or trap crabs to eat. A short walk in any direction will bring you to a small beach on the bay or on the ocean. We were often the only people on the bay beaches. The house was well appointed to cover all our cooking needs. They even left us a bottle of wine which was an especially nice touch. Thank you.

The perfect vacation

This property was everything we wanted and needed for a great vacation. Pros: great dock to fish off with crab traps and fish light for nightime, caught bothPlenty of comfortable beds to choose fromCable and internet worked great!Had every pot and pan you could need with a Keurig and regular coffee pot tooLots of towels and the washer and dryer was awesomeBeach was very close and an easy walkGolf cart rental was worth every penny and we used it to go everywhere.The kayaks were great to use on the channel.Great back deck spent a lot of time thereCons: Sea oats growing through decking and walkway are a pain but the owner did try to get that issue fixed for usLeaking window during a strong storm but we let owner know and he was very quick to respond We would love to return here sometime!

House Rental on Bay Canal

We had a great time! House was great and Candice/Robert were easy to reach for minor issues. Outside deck was the best spot and the most comfortable! Somethings to know - only 1 of 2 bdrms on the main floor has a TV. The upstairs has a queen and single outside of the master bdrm but all share the same bathroom (and only 1 TV in the master). Small bathrooms but great showers. Internet was slow (but think this was an island thing). For those bringing a boat the parking is tight and the street can be a challenge to maneuver.

In need of repairs

The location was good and we love Dauphin Island. The first thing we fixed was the master bathroom toilet. Tried to fix the sink which just ran but couldn't so notified the property manager who did get right back to us and promised to send a plumber. He finally showed up 5 days later and told us he was going to get a part and would be back in 15 mins. We never saw him again. The washer and foot wash run only scalding hot water and the outside shower and fridge don't work at all. We also had issues with the stove, microwave and dishwasher, none of which the plumber could fix. We also asked him about the suspicious black spot on the main bathroom ceiling and were told the upstairs shower was probably leaking. All in all, did not get our money's worth on this one.

Gail, We are shocked that you seem to have had so many problems. As you may have noticed, all our other reviews have been outstanding. We take great pride in our home and in responding to any issues that may arise. I believe we have handled any of the problems that needed attention that you mentioned. Although we have not yet replaced the downstairs (under the house) refrigerator that the hurricane destroyed. That should be replaced very soon. We really enjoyed our stay! The house had plenty of room for our family of eight and was very clean. My son loved fishing off the dock and catching crabs every day-it was one of his favorite parts of the trip. The outdoor shower was also nice for rinsing off after the beach.
