The owners were very nice, thorough and easy to work with in helping us arrange our Christmas stay with our daughter and son-in-law (who are foodies and love good wine - notes about their fun day below).
Nicely done! The pictures of the property do not convey how nice this place really is. Roomy, yet cozy. We loved the huge master bedroom with desks and sitting area. The bathrooms were very up-to-date and large. Decor was warm and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with plenty of nice counterspace for putting together a large holiday dinner. There is also a very nice collection of books, games and puzzles. All rooms face out to a huge deck with a hot tub that seats 4, gas bbq and patio set. We enjoyed coffee in the morning while watching the sunrise over large grassy yard (that our dog loved) and vineyard just beyond it. This is an amazing getaway and if we tell more, you just might rent it out from under us the next time we want to go!
Gas Thermador oven temp sensor light dim, owner provided oven thermometer.
Hard water leaves glasses spotted - hand wash if it bugs you.
Hidabed frame sags - nice mattress more comfortable on the floor.
Oakville Grocery for lunch. enjoyed sandwich bar, they also have good pastas and a great cheese/charcuterie section. Order a glass of wine at the coffee/wine bar (pairings are suggested with some lunches) and enjoy it with your lunch on their outdoor patio. It was a gorgeous day and the patio looks out on to the park.
5 minute drive from Oakville Grocery to Alderbrook Winery - Tasting room is rustic and open, and Benjamin, is very knowledgeable both about the wines they make and the area in general. This winery specializes in Zinfandels, though everything we tasted was really good (we joined the club!). Alderbrook is also the home of Terlato wines (via merger), also quite delicious and mixed in to the tasting menu. Like Simi, they have some good, flexible wine club choices, and the wine is great for the price.
Simi Winery easy drive from Alderbrook. The tasting room is big and has lots of cute little knicky-knacky things for sale. We’re wine club members, so we got to taste through a fair amount of good wines
Cap the day off at Francis Ford Coppola Winery. The property contains almost a mini-museum of memorabilia from Coppola movies and some cute items for sale in addition to the wine. Not great for wine tasting - too packed, but the estate is huge and beautiful.
My wife and I spent 5 days at this property to get a taste of staying right within the wine countryside in a more secluded location. We have been to the Sonoma area many times on vacation. The best part of this home is the amazing view looking over the vineyards on the large deck . Though the house photographs nicely we were very disappointed on the following: - the house had an odd odor from the poorly sealed kitchen counters, the property manager did come by to wipe down more thoroughly, but the smell still lingered - master bedroom mattress was uncomfortable with a thermapedic mattress, too specialized! - cooked often & found the frypans all in poor condition - home is very over decorated for our taste. The property manager was very nice , she checked in with us when we arrived and answered our questions. The area is very quiet, relaxing, beautifully surrounded by vineyards, close to many Russian River towns.
My wife and stayed at this property during January. Our weather was less than desirable but we knew going in January can be iffy in this part of California. The did not take any thing away from how great this property is. Although be could not enjoy the outside as much as we would have liked, the view and surroundings were terrific. The home is very nicely appointed, especially the bathrooms. Both had views out to the adjacent vineyard. The master bedroom is a king with fabulous mattress. There are many local wineries close by to visit. We would definitely rent this property again in the future. The owners were extremely attentive, especially around the weather and the flooding that did take place during our stay. They called to check on us a couple times during our stay.
My wife and I and my son and his wife spent an amazing Week at this wonderful home on Elizabeth Court.
Whether enjoying our morning coffee or our last glass of wine on the deck after a busy day we felt so comfortable. This is a perfect place to stay for 2 couples. The bedrooms with King beds ; nice bathrooms and showers; updated kitchen and roomy living area and of course the deck and view made everyday special.
Most importantly- the location of this property could not be better!! We saw Huey Lewis and the News at Rodney Strong Vineyard in Healdsburg. Visited the Russian River Brewery in Santa Rosa , explored Armstrong Woods and took ride to Bodega Bay. All so close.
For wine lovers you simply cannot make a turn from the property without seeing a vineyard. Just a few we visited ; Paul Hobbs, Martin Ray , Hook and Ladder, Arista , and Iron Horse were easy drives.
Restaurants we enjoyed were Canneti in Forestville; Underwood in Graton and Zazu in Sebastobol.
Finally I would like to thank the owners and their team for all the info , recommendations and communication.
The weather for our week was perfect.
We would love to return to this area and property!!
This property was perfect for me and my family. Breathtaking views of wine country. The house was so inviting and relaxing, yet away from other homes making it serene and quiet. We chose this property because it was central to the Ironman that my husband and I participated in. It's perfect to be close to all of the events and festivities but at the same time, away from the chaos of the race.
I joined three of my girlfriends for a girls weekend trip to Sonoma to celebrate my upcoming nuptials. We were looking for a relaxing, low key weekend and this home provided the perfect setting! The master bedroom is quite large and having two full bathrooms was perfect for accommodating four women. We really enjoyed the hot tub on the deck and the quiet surroundings as the deck overlooks beautiful hills, tress, and a neighboring vineyard. On our trip, we enjoyed a full day at the Farmhouse Spa (5 minutes away), spent a day exploring wineries in the Russian River Valley, and our favorite meal was at Terrapin Creek in Bodega Bay. The property was very well maintained and had everything we needed for a very memorable weekend.
Surrounded by world-class wineries within a half-hour's drive. In between Sebastopol and Healdsburg in heart of 'The Golden Triangle,' a prized grape and winery micro-region.
