About this property

The Alpaca Retreat - Luxury farm house with water view!

Although all of the amenities you might need from town are 5 minutes away in Stanwood, the retreat is located on a corner of the island which seems like a world away. With no close neighbors or roads, the quiet at night will afford you restful respite. After a rejuvenating night’s sleep, wake up to the chattering of the bald eagles and soft humming of the alpacas.
The main living area opens onto two large decks perfect for barbecuing or gathering outside with spectacular views of Port Susan and Mount Rainier. A large grass lawn is bordered by beautiful gardens. The lower level of the house is perfect for the kids with two sets of bunk beds, a ping pong table, and lots of room to move about. Should you want to use this level for something else, the beds and table can be easily removed and replaced with tables and chairs or other furniture. An outdoor pickleball/basketball court will entertain for hours

• Located on the north end of the island, so while you will feel like you are in a remote location, you are only a 5-minute drive from Stanwood; there is no need to deal with island traffic.

COVID-19 Update: Changes we have made in response to the COVID-19 pandemic:
1) All check-ins will now be self-check-in with keypad.
2) In addition to thorough cleaning, all high-touch surfaces will be wiped with bleach and rooms will be well ventilated.
3) All bedding will be washed in high-temperature water.
4) Cleaning shall be performed by owner while wearing protective mask and gloves.

Beautiful home and property! Unfortunately, we were there for a wedding so didn’t get to spend much time with the beautiful view! We would love to go back and stay when we can just relax! Host was amazing at communication!

I think retreat is the correct description of this property. It has a relaxing, luxurious feel. The view over the grounds and the water is indescribable. Wow! Karen was a responsive host, checking to make sure we had everything we needed. Feeding the alpacas was a memorable experience. We hope to come back for a longer stay!

Wonderful Family Getaway (and ADA friendly too!)

We had a wonderful family time at this beautiful property. The house is fun for everyone and was very easy to access for our ADA access requiring grandfather. The kids really enjoyed the ping pong setup and everyone enjoyed the views and feeding the Alpacas! Thank you for offering this great property!

What a great house and property!

Our family was in town for a wedding and we all loved the house. The kids really enjoyed seeing all the beautiful alpacas. The house was very clean, spacious and well stocked. Plenty of space for our group of ten. Pickleball and ping pong were big hits too. Highly recommend!

Perfect getaway

Karen is a great host and the place is extremely beautiful and very clean! This is a perfect place to go and just enjoy the beautiful nature with friends and family. We really appreciate them for letting us feed the alpacas that’s definitely one of the high points of our trip. The lowest point was that we only booked the place for one night :( we will definitely be back to stay longer!

Excellent way to spend a celebration weekend!

My parents had their 60th wedding anniversary celebration on Camano Island and many friends and family stayed the weekend. My group of aunts and cousins got to stay on the Alpaca Farm and enjoy the welcoming space, expansive views, and talking to the sweet alpacas! The serenity was bliss! The hosts were very welcoming and the home was immaculate. It was a beautiful place to be! Thank you!

A top shelf home and property

This amazing property and home far exceeded our expectations. We VRBO all over the world and this place is easily in our top three worldwide. Extremely well managed, location is great, private, and well equipped with all the essentials. I give this place a 12 out of 10 and would not hesitate to recommend this property to any family looking for the ranch style outdoors classic pacific coast experience. We spent 3 nights and 4 days- sad to leave

Even better than the photos!

We had an incredible stay at the Alpaca Retreat. The property itself has a view looking out on the water and the photos don't even do it justice. Everything we needed was there right when we arrived and it was a perfect house for our group of 10. There is even an extra fridge that we could use for beverages AND we got in touch with the owners who let us FEED THE ALPACAS before we left. Would absolutely recommend this stay to anyone who is looking at it :) Thank you!

Special Property and Spectacular Views

The entire family agreed that this was one of the nicest houses we have ever stayed in. It was very spacious, clean, and thoughtfully designed. The adults appreciated the peace and quiet and the opportunity to relax and enjoy the views. The children enjoyed the basement, especially the ping-pong table and the outdoor areas that allowed for catch and running around. Karen was a very responsive host and thought of every detail for our stay. The cherry on top of the beautiful property was the opportunity to feed the alpacas. Stunning Property with Gracious Hosts!

This property has absolutely stunning views that pictures don’t do justice. It’s located on a working farm so our little one loved getting to see the Alpacas, goat, and horse. The inside of the house is gorgeous and equipped with what you need for your stay. The hosts were very kind and quick to answer any questions we had and even organize a “meet & feed” with the Alpacas. These are not negatives, just more of an fyi: There is limited wifi unless you bring your cord to connect into their tower which improved speed and also there are no tv’s. But there are plenty of games, books, and acres to get outside and enjoy the beauty! We would absolutely stay here again :)

Hard to even know what to say about a property that is so unique and beautiful. The home is an architectural treasure. The view cannot be topped. Private walking path through the woods on the property provided ample exploration of native trees and plants, as well as interaction with the bald eagle nesting on the property. And then there are the alpacas….feeding them with Karen and Hugo was an experience none of my family will forget. If convenience is your thing there are groceries and anything else you might want in a five minute drive. Hands down I would do it again. And again. And again.

This was the perfect stay.. we went north for whale watching east for a German town and of course into Seattle. The kids loved the animal's it was so quiet and peaceful. The kitchen was well equipped to make any meals we wanted .We take the kids and grandkids on a trip once a year and stay at vbro homes. This is in our top 2. Thank you Beth

We are avid travelers; in 2015 we reduced our alpaca herd and along with our triplet children journeyed over 35,000 miles by road from the southern tip of South America back to the farm on Camano Island. What made this experience life-changing was the people we connected with along the way.
