60s residence close to fair/town

Welcome to an unique residence in Stockholm/Enskede which combines 60's interior design with functionality, comfort and access to nature. The spacious house has a large well equipped kitchen, 6 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, the Penthouse with separate bath and pentry, a porch and a terrace. The large property has a designed garden and space for numerous cars.
The house was built during the 50s/60s by wealthy engineer Lars Berkle who, having a passion for interior design and technical solutions, did not spare any effort to craft every detail of ”Villa Berkle”.
As the second owner of the property I have maintained this tradition fascinated by the retro style and choice of materials. The special atmosphere of Villa Berkle has been used for numerous commercial shoots as well as for the swedish motion picture Stockholm East:

Even though the property is situated in a quiet part of Stockholm with forest right out the backdoor you will easily reach by feet a well equipped supermarket, several restaurants, a bakery, a late night 7-eleven store and 2 alternative subway stations(15 min to south city Södermalm). Stockholm International Fair is nearby, 8 min by car or 10-15 min by bus.
There i several lakes nearby .

Please leave the house with all accessory and fittings put back into their place; sheets are left on bedding sets at departure.

My biggest regret is that we could only stay a couple of nights here. Such a beautiful home! Neighborhood seemed safe and quiet. We loved the decor. Host is nearby in another home on the property and he is so friendly and ready to help with anything. Plenty, and I mean PLENTY, of room for an extended family. Kitchen is stocked with cookware and plates, everything you need. Great rental!!

First Impressions

We stayed with a mixed age group, which was well catered for. Although, because of the authentic sixties style interior. (which I thought was fab). I think it freaked the younger group members out at first, but once they settled all was fine. Great space with more than ample crockery. Lots of stairs so problematic for people who struggle with mobility. Overall amazing!

Americans in Stockholm!

After multiple hotel stays we were very happy to end our trip in a house. Traveling with 3 kids under 12, my husband and his mother, we had plenty of space to rest and enjoy. Janu keeps a very tidy and cool retro/vintage home. We walked to the Stureby station in 8-10 min each day we took the metro. It was overall a great stay!

AMAZING!!

Beautiful house – very unique, wonderful location, loved Janu as a host! He was very available, was willing and able to work with us on every question or need we had, and was super friendly! I can’t imagine we could’ve had a better stay anywhere! Hands-down, one of the most unique and best days we’ve had using VRBO yet. His house manual was very complete, gave us excellent instructions and suggestions, and left no questions unanswered. Although it was fairly close to public transport, we used Uber for most of our transportation and it was very inexpensive.

Great place for a family/group

Very charming house in a quiet suburb of Stockholm. Good for families and to experience neighborhood Swedish life. We slept three adult couples and three single adults comfortably. Easy walk to the metro to get downtown in about 20 minutes. There is a laundry machine but no dryer so you do have to hang your clothes to dry. Host Janu is a gent! This was a great introduction to Sweden.

Cozy Retro Stay

The home is very spacious. There’s many sleep options, also many bedrooms and sitting areas, which were enjoyed. The location is very convenient to various public transits. The grocery is excellent and about a 10 minute walk from the home. The neighborhood was very pleasant. We really enjoyed the coziness of the place. It felt like a very safe area to stay. It had a great vinyl album collection but no turntable. I’m assuming this was unavailable due to it possibly being a fragile item or broken. We were looking forward to the home theatre setup but the previous guests broke the TV. Janu was nice and offered the use of his own personal TV but we felt bad taking it and turned down his offer. Also the dryer was not available making washing and drying clothes in a cold, wet environment difficult. There was a lot of other audio options but most was unusable due to lack of compatibility or it was in-operable. We did get to enjoy a new refrigerator and the tap water was excellent as well. For what it’s worth the owner lives in a guest home within close proximity. He was practically invisible but we still felt as though we needed to be mindful of he and his family. Overall it was a nice stay.

Zurück in die 60er

Das Haus im Außenbezirk von Stockholm ist gut über die U-Bahn zu erreichen, die Einrichtung ist vollständig aus den 60ern und man kann nicht aufhören, alle Details zu entdecken. Der Vermieter Janu ist sehr hilfsbereit und immer erreichbar. Schlafzimmer und Betten gibt es ohne Ende, das Haus ist größer als es von außen den Eindruck macht. Auf jeden Fall gerne wieder!!! Danke JANU!!

Large comfortable house

We had a great stay here. Used five of the bedrooms and they were all very comfortable. We did not use the basement bedroom as there was a slightly damp smell although the room looked very nice. The house was very well equipped and there is a supermarket about 10 mins walk away and a train station about 10-15 mins walk. There are also several local restaurants in walking distance. Janu was on hand and was helpful. An additional bathroom would have been useful but everything else was excellent and I would definitely recommend this property.

Lovely place for a large group

We absolutely loved this home. The character is simply wonderful. It's not perfect, but a home that is loved and lived in should not be. We were a group of 10 adults and we had more than enough room to sleep, relax and shower. It's obvious that Janu cares about this property and takes great pride in it. Janu himself is a gem and was easily available for any issues or questions that arose. He was always polite and eager to greet us when we saw him. I honestly cannot say enough good things about Janu or his home. Thank you for making our stay in Stockholm such a good one!

Simply brilliant

We absolutely loved staying here. The house was stylish, clean and comfortable with so much space. It was full of interesting details from the furnishings to the books on the shelves. There was good internet and wifi in the property. We had a party of 10 but there was so much room and it pleased everyone from the older members of our group in their 60s to the youngest toddler. The garden was a gem too and kept the children entertained for hours. Everything was in good working order, we found a handy supermarket 10 minutes away and there were good public transport links (bus stop on main route, train station) within easy distance on foot. It was quiet but we met the neighbours when we arrived and they were lovely - very welcoming and helpful. Janu was good to deal with and we would book this house for another visit without any hesitation

Great Stay Near City Center

We had a big group of friends staying here (8 of us). We loved the spacious living room and dining room. The fireplace was lovely. The metro is very near and it didn't take long to get to the city. There's a grocery store in walking distance. Janu, the owner, treated us well and was easy to work with. Also, the house is decorated well! The pictures are very accurate.
