Exceeded Expectations

Decanter was terrific, and Jack & B thought of everything. From the cheese board and wine they had set up for us to the beach towels in a wicker bag for the pool in every room. There were great touches everywhere in the home that just made things easy and convenient. The views are incredible, and our stay was so comfortable. Highly recommend staying here!

Perfect Vacation House!

We stayed at this property for a long Thanksgiving weekend. It was perfect and exceeded our expectations. The house and surrounding property are beautiful. Communication with the owner was great and the check-in was seamless with organized instructions to all household functions and amenities. The house is so comfortable and offers everything you need for an experience that truly makes you feel at home. We would love to come back during summer to enjoy the property again!

We are so lucky to find Decanter. The house is situated in a prime location by the Dry Creek, just a quick 7-minute jaunt to downtown, with the added perk of being a stone's throw away from the renowned Dry Creek Vineyards. The owner is incredibly accommodating, and the house itself is a spacious haven for all guests. A fully equipped kitchen makes meal prep a breeze. The hot tub and pool are impeccably maintained, offering a clean and cozy retreat for relaxation. Highly recommended to everyone who wants to visit Healdsburg.

Spacious and comfortable!

Decanter was the perfect place for our family to stay. Jack and B were very welcoming and helpful upon arrival. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we would need along with a magnificent view. The pool area was the perfect place to gather in the afternoon and later watch the sunset. The main floor had plenty of space as well. The bedrooms were all spacious and comfortable. Our family also had fun playing foosball and pool in the lower level. The house was just a short drive to town and wineries. Highly recommend!

Perfect in every way! My husband and I travel with friends annnually, and this may be the best VRBO we have stayed in. The home was gorgeous, the view was spectacular, and the pool & hot tub were welcome amenities. We were welcomed with a lovely bouquet of fresh flowers from Jack & B’s garden, accompanied by a charcuterie of meats, assorted cheeses & crackers, which we enjoyed while picnicking among the Redwoods in Armstrong Woods. We also had access to cherry tomatoes and other homegrown treats from the gardens on property. The hosts thought of everything! We appreciated all the little touches, including a display of lotions and perfumes for our use, as well as a tray of reading glasses! The Communication with the host was excellent, Jack provided an extensive list of nearby restaurants and wineries, as well as reserving a complimentary wine tasting for our group at a local vineyard. We highly recommend Decanter, and will definitely stay here again given the opportunity.

Decanter - Just Perfect

Decanter is truly a dream vacation home! We stayed for a full week and it wasn’t long enough. The owners Jack and Bee are the most helpful, gracious, thoughtful and attentive hosts who truly want your stay to be perfect. The house has everything you could possibly want. The pool, hot tub, sauna, and surrounding area are beautiful as is the scenery from every room! Upon arrival we were met by Jack and Bee who had a charcuterie board, two bottles of wine decorated as a bride and groom along with delicious pastries waiting to congratulate and help us celebrate our daughter’s wedding. Such a wonderful week at Decanter!! The perfect place for our bride and her entourage to get ready for the big event. Looking forward to returning one day very soon!! Thank you Jack and Bee!

Wow! Best mini vacation for all. Brought hubby, two 15 year olds and an 8 year old. Jack and B were delightful and their property is beyond. They are so thoughtful and go out of their way to make sure all is perfect throughout. Attention to detail is incredible. Cannot wait to visit again.

Decanter - Absolutely Amazing

Jack and B welcomed us into this amazing property that had views of the vineyards from every single room and patio. Meticulously maintained, comfortable, and family friendly property where there were no details left out. From the perfectly attended vegetable and herb gardens, to the warm, clean and beautiful pool, to the game room, the weight room complete with peloton bike and 100s of wineries within miles of the estate. We couldn't have had a better time or better hosts. Highly recommend to wine lovers and families both as our kids had just as much fun as we did!

BEST VRBO HOUSE AND HOSTS EVER!

We have booked VRBO rentals in CA for nearly 2 decades. Decanter represents the Best House and Hosts Ever! We stayed 7 nights hosting a bi-coastal, 3-generation family gathering. We sought: 1) a house that offered each family member diverse facilities for entertainment and exercise; 2) wine country views and privacy from neighbors; 3) shared pool and hot tub time; 4) opportunity to prepare elaborate menus, dine together for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and (for the adults) to taste wine well into the night; and 5) separate ensuite bedrooms for 2 adult couples and the 2 teenagers. Decanter met and far exceeded these requirements. As an unexpected bonus, Jack and B were extraordinary hosts with near-instant, complete, and creative responses to all our questions/needs. Their Welcome cheese and charcuterie board set a hospitable tone for a superb vacation housing experience. We prepared all meals at Decanter. Two adult couples collaborated bi-coastally over preceding weeks on menus/grocery lists. Our planning led to numerous questions to Jack and B about things like pizza pans, wok, rice cooker, roasting pan, instant meat thermometer, sharp knives, pancake griddle, and number of matching wine glasses. Along with direct answers, our hosts made additional suggestions about how to use their Roccbox pizza oven (complete with instructional videos), local sources for dough, and offered bottle “socks” for blind tasting. Clearly, Jack and B are foodies as evidenced by their exceedingly well-equipped (and labeled!) kitchen and enticing cookbook collection in the living room. The diversity of dining and gathering spaces is exceptional! We used the formal dining room for lunches and dinners. Breakfasts were al fresco at the umbrella table on the pool deck. Games were played at the living room coffee table. For happy hours/sunset viewing we wandered the property, including the table and chairs on the ridge beyond the garden, adjacent to the neighboring vineyard. The swimming pool and hot tub were magnets for many activities. Our granddaughter swam two 200-lap days. A menagerie of inflatable pool toys was provided. Pool lounges offered spots for reading and sunning. Many games of pool and foosball were played. Serious Peloton riding took place. We were thrilled with our immersion in Decanter Life just a short distance from Healdsburg. Kudos to Jack and B for an exceptionally outfitted house and a meticulous approach to guest service!

Five Star Stay

The five star title shouldn’t be limited to hotels only because this property warrants that designation in every way. You cannot have better hosts, and the property is immaculate. Imwe would travel here for every vacation if we could because our group of six (3 couples) had one of, if not the, bear vacations we’ve ever taken. The views, the pool, the grounds. the amenities, and the mass amounts of different fun spaces in the house provide limitless entertainment for all types of guests. The house is effectively in a vineyard and is close to all of them in the healdsburg area. What a flawless weekend that we can’t wait to replicate, though we won’t be able to elsewhere.

Great Hospitality....even better views!

We had a perfect stay at Decanter for our daughter's wedding (October 2021). It's hard to decide on a place to stay for a visit to wine country. Look no further. Jack and B met us at the house to welcome us and show us around the house. Jack communicated with all the details prior to our arrival and throughout our stay. He made sure every question was answered and offered to help out with all our needs. B's attention to details for our stay was really appreciated by my family. Probably one of the most unique things about the house was that every bedroom, living room, Kitchen, family room and basement had a beautiful view and access to the outside for a cup of coffee in the morning or cocktail in the evening. It was so relaxing. For those that wanted to get some exercise or play games, there was plenty to do in the basement: Peloton, treadmill, foos ball, pool table and full gym in the garage. We got ready for the wedding at Decanter and it provided perfect lighting for pictures while my daughter got ready. We look forward to returning and enjoying more of the wineries nearby. The location for our wedding could not have been more enjoyable. October 2021

Delightful, top quality experience

We stayed at Jack & B's lovely house in September 2021 - 3 friends, we each had our own bedroom. We were truly spoilt from start to finish. Jack & B met us at check in to show us the house and features, which was much appreciated. They also left us a gorgeous charcuterie cheese board, ready to eat and enjoy with the very nice bottle of Rose they also had chilled and ready for us. They also left a box full of freshly baked goods (croissants, etc) which were perfect for breakfast, plus fully stocked coffee and a Nespresso machine, milk in the fridge, bottled water (sparkling or still). The house is beautifully decorated, but still has a very comfortable welcoming feel. Although we were not traveling with kids, I would have felt comfortable having my kids in the house - and I'm sure Jack and B would have happily removed any important breakables if they knew kids were coming. The bedrooms and bathrooms had everything you could need, and the shower in the master was amazing. Fresh flowers throughout the house! The attention to detail was well beyond expectation. The pool and hottub were fantastic, and we also enjoyed using the Peloton. There was also a very impressive gym set up with weights/TRX, mini-treadmill. Jack's recommendations in advance for wineries, restaurants and other details were also perfect and helped us get everything booked well in advance (which is a must). Jack was also available for any questions, and very responsive - both before our stay and during. We left some items behind, and Jack kindly shipped them to us almost instantly. We will be back to stay at the Decanter as soon as possible! Ps. Pro-tip - Uber is not reliable in the Healdsburg area (even downtown), make sure you bring a rental car and book a driver in advance, if needed.
