Great Cottage

  • 5 of 5

Tastefully put together and very clean. A little larger than it appears in photos (I think). Beach and fire pit were great. The kitchen was stocked very well. No cell phone service through T-Mobile. Very spotty service through Verizon. The cottage does, however, have a landline and excellent wifi.

A great retreat.

  • 5 of 5

Having never done a VRBO before, I was a little skeptical that the place would be as nice it the pictures showed. This cottage was even better. Very cute, exceptionally maintained, and has everything you need for a vacation. The owner was flexible on our days and times which made it work for us. Sunsets over Lake Michigan by a campfire on the beach was simply amazing.

It was perfect! When we arrived the only thing we needed to do was unpack and relax in this very clean, comfortable house that is situated beautifully on a sand dune over looking the lake. We had our own private beach with chairs all ready for us to just chill out. At night we could hear the waves from our bedroom. The pictures do not do it justice. Thank you for an awesome place to stay and really relax. I'm glad we booked in August 2017 already.

Comfortable newly renovated home, stunning lake access!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay. The house was nicely furnished, clean and seemed roomier than in the pictures. We loved how many different seating areas there were to use outside: back patio, picnic table, on the bluff, at the beach. Carrie was friendly and unobtrusive.

At this time of year ( end of June), there were lots of beatles on the beach, but nothing biting. No mosquitos with the breezes.

Thanks for a great place to stay!!

Midwest U.S.

a wonderful Lake Michigan paradise

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at this cottage three years now and every year, regardless of weather, is better. Supplies are fully stocked and there are always decorating improvements. It's quiet, clean, and wonderful. Lake Michigan is high this year, so there was minimal beach to enjoy, but that changes from year to year whenever beach is a factor. We will return.

A wonderful place to get away from it all!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I had a great time in this delightful cottage! It's small, but not too small - the perfect size for just the two of us and our little dog. It's very well maintained and clean. We had lots of privacy, too. We practically had the beach to ourselves the whole time. There were a few people on the weekend, but during the week I took a very long walk on the beach all by myself and I didn't see another person the whole time. The beach is beautiful and we did go swimming on sunny days even though the water was cold! My husband enjoyed playing golf at a couple nearby courses and we had fun going to Muskegon State Park (just a few miles down the road) for hikes in the woods. In late September the sun sets by 7:30 but we managed to enjoy the evenings watching movies on the DVD player. There are plenty of restaurants within a 20 minute drive if you don't feel like cooking, but the kitchen has everything you need to prepare a meal. My only issue with the cottage was the sliding screen door was a bit difficult to slide and the screen was just starting to rip along the edge - there are a lot of mosquitos so intact screens are essential! Remember to pack the bug spray if you plan to spend any amount of time in the woods - the breezes on the beach blow all the bugs away! The steps to the beach are pretty steep so they might be difficult for an elderly or really out of shape person. I will definitely consider returning to this lovely, cozy, clean, pet-friendly cottage!
