It’s exactly as you would expect from the pictures. Dated but clean and everything as advertised! Could use some new drinkware, seems like attrition has led to only a couple coffee cups. We stayed one night and it was perfect for our group of beginners since it was right off of easy street.

On arrival I thought that it was a Quaint looking condo seemed clean for the majority of the condo but while getting ready for bed and a shower that evening, noticed hairs on the sheets of the two full size beds and on the shower walls of the shower in that same room. The twin beds in the second room and the other bathroom shower were clean. Not a horrible experience at this stay but could use some updating at the unit and thorough cleaning between stays.

Great location-that’s the best thing about this place-ski in and out truly. A blessing of you want to relax or head back early while your kids want to stay on the slope-The home would benefit however from some renovation-the TVs are smart Arab which was great but very small screens. A 50” tv in the living room at the very least and not a 35”.We could both use the coffe machine as there were no filters. Perhaps a kettle to boil water for tea or coffee would be a nice additionCarpet is very old with stains and you can trip on itYou need a new shower head on the master bathroomThe bed backboard was broken for one bed and almost for the second one

Do not stay at this one

The only one thing that was loved is that there is a nice creek outback that runs this place was old damp and smelly. Do not stay here there are others in B that are updated.

Dear Sir or Madam,I am writing to formally report serious issues we experienced during our recent stay.Upon arrival, it was immediately apparent that the unit had not been properly prepared or cleaned prior to our arrival. The beds were unmade, and the bed sheets and pillowcases were dirty and had not been replaced. As no clean linens were available, we were forced to use our own T-shirts as pillowcases. The bathrooms had not been cleaned, dirty towels were left on the bathroom floor, and no clean towels were provided.In addition, the thermostat was set to 60F and could not be adjusted. Given that February 1 was one of the coldest days in the history of Sugar Mountain, the temperature in the unit was extremely uncomfortable. Even with the fireplace in use, the unit remained cold, and we had to sleep almost fully dressed.We contacted Vacasa immediately upon discovering these issues and were assured that the local property management would resolve them. Our only request was for clean sheets, pillowcases, and towels. The following day, we contacted Vrbo, but we were again referred to the local property management. We were provided with a Vacasa North Carolina phone number (1 252-689-0326), which was not in service.Throughout our entire stay, we received no assistance beyond repeated apologies and requests for patience. At no point were the issues addressed or resolved. This was an extremely disappointing experience, and it is the first time we have ever encountered a

Old run Down and NOISEY

Was like a museum furniture, appliances, decor, flooring, bedding, all were 40 plus years old. Refrigerator makes terrible noises constantly, There cant be any insulation in the walls you could hear everything the neighbors said. Upstairs must have been a family of Sasquach i never saw them but you could sure hear them. Even at 3 in morning pounding the floors. Apparently the people that stayed the night before us thought they had it rented for our stay also. They came back tring to open the door several times but their code would not work. They claimed they left their belongings in their. Needless to say it was very disturbing.

Great unit for ski trip

Unit was clean, cozy and warm when we got there. Furniture was comfortable but sturdy and rustic enough you weren't afraid to put your feet on the coffee table! Appreciated the large dining room table and kitchen serve thru window. Kitchen had everything we needed. Beds were average but we slept fine. WiFi and TVs worked and the fireplace came right on. The rack outside the door for skis and Boards was very helpful. No complaints really. Only suggestion is to put more weatherstripping around the outside door in the bedroom cuz you could feel air coming through. Would stay here again.

Expectations

If you are expecting a modern, gleaming unit with updated furnishings, fit and finish, you'll give this place a One Star. For many reasons...many reasons..... If you are expecting a worn and used unit last renovated in the 20th century, this will work perfectly. The words "rustic" or "lived in" gently describe the state of the place. The location to the slopes is excellent. The Roku TV was excellent. Parking, excellent. I'm going with 3 stars since it all depends on what you are hoping to get for the price. (For management: a little market analysis of the area shows other condos and even houses in the exact same price range with the same features and have been WAY more updated. The price on this one should be appreciably lower.)

Our stay

This unit make me extremely nervous after reading the reviews but overall it wasn’t bad. Yes it’s a little out dated & needs some TLC but we were there to ski and have a good time. & that’s just what we did! I would definitely suggest the owner in buying some new blinds bc out of all the windows there was only one window the blinds worked on. All the other windows the blinds wouldn’t even pull down to cover the windows. Also it would have been nice to have the right amount of towels. The unit sleeps 6 and we were only given 3 bath towels. There was 6 of us adults. Not a big deal but wish I would of known, I would have brought my own. Skiers it’s on the beginner slope which is great but it’s a little tricky/hard getting up and down from the unit to the slope so if you have small children, be aware. Definitely will get your exercise in. I gave the check process 3 stars. I’ve stayed on the mountain before in different units & I normally receive info at the latest the night before on instructions on getting into the unit. I didn’t receive info until noon the day of our arrival. It may just be me but I would have liked them sooner. One last thing the unit only allows one parking spot. Overall we had a good time and the unit was clean

Pleasant stay next to slopes

It was a well kept place. A bit small and dated. Next to slopes. Although we did have to go down 3 flights of stairs or more to get down to the creek in order to get to the ski lifts making it difficult with small kids. Very nice views from the balcony

Labor Day 2020

Dated, but well maintained home on the ski slopes of Sugar Mountain. Had a good weekend watching folks mountain bike down. Rode the lift up for some great views and then back down. The surrounding towns can not handle the traffic on a holiday weekend. The restaurants do not have capacity for the holiday weekend crowds, so plan to take advantage of the kitchen in this unit and cook your own meals.

NEEDS TLC - Beware

Various mechanical and comfort issues kept us from enjoying our stay. My family has stayed with Dereka for the holidays for years and have always been satisfied with the Bee Branch units and staff. This year with the layer of Vacasa management and disconnect from the staff was terrible. From the front door not latching to the poor mechanical condition of the unit, Vacasa has not been an improvement to the Bee Branches.
