Mountain vistas await when you choose this ski-in/ski-out condo as your adventure launchpad. A wonderful find in the heart of Blue Ridge country, this retreat is located at the very top of The Reserve at Sugar Mountain and just steps from the Summit Express lift and ski slopes. Nested at 5,300 feet in elevation at the highest elevation on the mountain, the views of Grandfather Mountain and Linville Gorge are unmatched.

After blissful days, unwind for movie nights in the welcoming living area. A gas fireplace adds an extra layer of comfort and warmth. The full kitchen is equipped with everything the chef in the group needs to make delectable eats. The primary suite offers a desk space for working from home, deck access and mountain views, and a luxe bathroom with a jetted tub that continues the epic views. Added perks include complimentary WiFi and central AC.

It's a nice property; spacious for a couple, clean, well functioning, and well equipped. The view from the deck is the best feature. So nice to be at the top of the mountain and enjoy the beautiful views of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

We did not have AC for the entire stay despite requests to get it done. Mgmt did not reply during the stay. AC tech did not show. My items were damp and had to sleep with windows open!

Very nice place to stay

Beautiful place very clean! Very cozy open feel inside with amazing views outside. When it’s not foggy, you can see so far out. The gas fireplace didn’t work properly so we never got a chance to use it. The ski in ski out is a little tricky, but still quite handy if you’re an avid skier. You were at the very top of the mountain, so it is quite breezy a lot. It is an adventure getting to the top of the mountain, but the roads are kept very clean and passable. We enjoyed our stay very much.

The view is nice

The property has a great view and a nice interior. It is close to the main ski lift but you have to walk across a parking lot and through a muddy/rocky haphazard trail to get to it. The condo didn't have any running water to drink or flush the toilets when we arrived. Luckily I found the main water valves and turned it on myself. The TV/cable in the main bedroom didn't work after several attempts of restarting everything. Trash bags were not placed in the bathroom trash containers. It's a nice place on the very top of the mountain but lots of little things kinda bothered me. Frustrating to plan and spend your hard earned money on a property that misses attention to detail.

Gorgeous view

We loved everything about this place. Very spacious, perfect for our family of 3. Comfortably and beautifully decorated; very homey and cozy. It was well-stocked with a good variety of kitchenware to cook most anything you’d like. Proximity to the slopes was perfect for heading back for a rest and dinner during slope closure between 4:30-6, though you do have to walk on a short, somewhat rocky hill from the lift to get back to the unit, which can be a bit tricky in ski boots. Also, the lift that you need to use to get back to the condo serves blue and black slopes only, so just be aware that those preferring beginner slopes might not be happy with what they would need to ski down as a “ski-out” lodging option to get back to the beginner slopes without having to drive down the mountain. We prefer blue and black slopes, however, so this didn’t bother us. But the icing on the cake was the incredible view from the deck. Absolutely stunning, especially at sunset! We’d have loved the condo just as much without the view, but the view made it all the more enjoyable. Would definitely stay here again!

Ski In Ski Out

The layout of the condo was awesome for 2 families or 4 friends willing to share a queen and king size bed. Literally less than a one minute walk to slopes. The top of the summit express is where the walk path leads to. Awesome location.

Wonderful Visit

We had a great time in this condo. We were lucky to have snow the day we arrived. We had a wonderful time and the views were fabulous. All amenities made the trip very pleasurable. Please note: Ski in/ski out is not for beginner skiers.

Top of the world!

This beautiful condo on the very top of Sugar Mountain was perfect! Spectacular views and just a short walk to the slopes. Very well stocked and comfortable. We will be back!

Sugar mountain ski in/ski out

Great Condo steps away from top of Summit Express Lift. Very nice two bed two bath condo. Beds are comfortable and there is plenty of leisure space for a small family. Was not told that all the water in condo was shut off both at the water main and at fuse box. Arrived late (11pm) so had no water for first night. But property manager was very prompt in responding the next morning and we got water on right away. Place was clean on arrival, however no trash bags in whole unit. When they recommend having 4WD, they mean it! This is at the top of the mountain. Overall a great rental!

The pictures were exactly as listed. It was beyond beautiful. I didn’t give it 5 stars all around because at night the wind picks up really bad and literally rattles the doors. It sounds like hurricane winds. This is probably because you are at the way top of the mountain. Feet from the ski lift. The communication with host could be better. The water was shut off upon arrival and no instructions on how to turn on were left. Thankfully had a handyman with me. The water heater was also turned off and fireplace didn’t work.

Escape to the mountaintop

Although the condo was everything one could ask for in terms of comfort, decor, equipment, and charm, it was the view from the living room and deck which mesmerized us. Ever changing , morning, noon, and night: sometimes exquisite sunrises and sunsets, sometimes fogged in as though we were living in a cloud, and sometimes clear at our mountain top but layers of fog blanketing the lower area. I imagine it would be a perfect place for skiers as the lift was just steps away. The location was also wonderful as it afforded easy access to Grandfather Mountain, Linville Falls, Boone, Blowing Rock and Banner Elk. Easy drives to golf and many excellent restaurants. We especially liked the Sugar Mountain golf course which was stunning during our Fall Foliage visit as well as challenging. The amenities were so appreciated too, several coffee pots, plenty of cooking utensils, pots and pans, a gas fireplace, washer and dryer , dish ware etc. I have rented many VRBO’s, Air B&Bs and this was one of the best. We look forward to returning in a different season.
