I just contacted VRBO to place a 3 way call between us. They could not get in touch with you. Nevertheless . We do not want your damage deposit money. Although VRBO awarded it to us because they found cause: We have agreed with them to send back $400 of the Damage Deposit We are not criminals and want to steal peoples money. We have contracts in place so peoples actions can be held accountable. Such as “staying later than the contract allows then leaving the house unlocked and leaving items behind.” Fabricating a story of where the keys were doesn’t help. It is Disrespectful to our home, homeowners, incoming families and cleaning crew as it delays their days’ work. As per our rental agreement if we have to make keys again the cost is $100. Which you read and agreed to. We do not collect the fee yet pass it on to the cleaning company for their inconvenience and having to stop their work to assist us, the homeowner. I feel this is equitable and fair to both families. We stand by our decision. Regardless of complaints, ratings you gave us, etc. Your family rented our home because you thought it seemed right. We always strive to do what is right. Our past and returning families show our home respect. Read the reviews. Mutual Respect is not petty.
