Edgewater is located directly beach front and offers magnificent views of the Gulf of Mexico. It is closer to the ocean than the surrounding complexes, so when you look east or west, all you see is the beautiful beach & ocean, no buildings to block your view. Located only one mile west of the 'T' intersection of Gulf Shores Pkwy. 59 & the Beach Blvd.182. One famous 'beach side restaurant' is only a half mile walk down the beautiful beach from Edgewater. The only condominium on the Gulf Shores beach with full length sliding glass doors, allowing you to open the sun porch to the ocean breezes, or close them for your evening privacy. Open or closed, you can enjoy an unobstructed awesome view of the Gulf of Mexico from the Living/Dining Kitchen Area and Master Bedroom. The entire south walls of the living room and master bedroom is sliding glass doors, which allows you to open these rooms to the sun porch/balcony or close them off. The unit was totally refurbished after Hurricane Ivan and features all new appliances, new furnishings, flooring and mill work. This condo has nice tile floors throughout the entire unit. The large expanse of plate-glass mirrors puts a beach view in every corner of the condo. This unit was designed as a second home, and has very high end furnishings that are an eye opener when you walk in the unit.

This condo is approximately 1250 sq. ft., making it comfortably larger than most two bedroom two bath condos directly on the Gulf. Each large bedroom enjoys its own private bathroom. A new large walk-in shower for the Master Bedroom is wonderful. The large Master Bedroom with a King size bed is the perfect “get-away spot” to relax and enjoy your beach retreat, as you let the surf sounds rock you to sleep. The 2nd bedroom has a Queen size bed, and an entrance straight into the bathroom for ultimate privacy.

Everything needed for a delightful meal is furnished in this open designer kitchen. The kitchen’s open architecture allows the cook to mingle with guests in the Living Area. Blend a cool refreshing drink and relax on the private balcony, enjoying the Gulf & beach view, or watching the activities of the large pool and patio area directly below your balcony. Open the balcony sliding glass doors and feel the Gulf breeze blowing all around you.

This condo is equipped with Cable TV and two HDTV's with DVD players. The large flat screen HDTV in the living room is perfect for sport broadcasts. A nice '5' CD stereo player is in the living room for good music. Internet is available through a secured wireless connection. A new washer/dryer is in the unit for your convenience. On the beach, lounge chairs and umbrellas are available for rent. The pool area has chairs, lounge chairs, and tables for your enjoyment. Luggage carts are provided to carry your belongings to the condo using the elevator.

The fact that this listing had only two reviews posted, both of which were OLD, should have been a clue. The condo is large and roomy; furnishings are adequate, but far from "upscale" as described above. There is no TV in the second BR, which is a drawback. The two area rugs in the entry and living room appeared to be rather dirty. There was a musty odor upon entering the unit. The biggest drawback for my traveling companion and me were the sliding doors across the balcony. We did not are for them, the screens did not slide, and they somewhat obstructed the view. There are NO beach chairs available with this unit and the building itself does not have, nor allow, beach service. If you don't want to sit on the sand, be sure to bring chairs. The building itself is an older property and could use some updating; elevator and stairs easily accessible to anyone walking down the street. Another issue we encountered was the huge remodeling project going on at the condo next door. Work typically started before 7:00am and the elevator was consistently blocked by table saws, tools, etc. While we would likely use Suncoast as a rental agency in the future, we would not book this particular property again.

Owner's Response: Hi Karen, thanks for the review. I checked with the "local rental manager" for this condo, and the "on-site building manager" and neither of them had a call from guests of the condo during this period. I know all the contact info is given at the time of booking as well as check-in and I wish you would have been in touch with Young's Suncoast as they have 24 hour maintenance and guest services available that would have been able to help you out on the spot. I'm in the condo myself this week and have installed as planned: a new 28" HD TV with built in DVD player in the guest bedroom, 32" HD TV with built-in DVD player in the master bedroom, as well as a 55" Smart HD TV in the living room. Regarding the balcony it only has two screen panels and five glass panels. The screens can be pushed to the far side if not needed and three of the glass panels easily roll to the side. Families with small children prefer to use the screens and only open two panels but if you were having trouble we would have been happy to help you out. Beach service is available at the property and guests use it year round, just with it being off-season there isn't someone stationed there day in, day out like the Summer months. Again, a quick call and we would have been able to provide you the number to the beach service agency for them to schedule delivery for whatever beach equipment you might have needed. Also, I apologize if our neighbors were bothersome during the stay as it's that time of year when owner's are doing updates to the condos as well as deep cleans such as myself after a long Summer season. There is also a rule in place from the Board of Directors regarding construction during the early hours that we could have addressed. Elevators and stairs are purposefully easily accessible, like all condos in the area here, since fortunately it's one of the safest communities on the Gulf Coast with little to no worry about security. There is also a security guard onsite in the evening time throughout the year. Hopefully these small issues didn't affect your group too much and you were still able to enjoy your stay. We take our guests comments very seriously as this condo is like a second home to me and I always do everything in my power to make guest's stays as enjoyable as possible! I wish we would have been able to help you a bit more while you were down here, thanks for staying with us.

Nice condo!!

We have stayed in this condo three times and we love it! The furnishings are upscale and very comfortable. Large new flat screen in living room and excellent mattress in master suite. This condo has everything - nice, big bathrooms and bedrooms, washer/dryer, large fridge and freezer and nice dining table and chairs. We love the large patio. Has nice furniture! We love sitting in the rocking chairs in the morning watching the dolphins while we drink coffee. This is the only condo we've stayed in that has outside glass doors that close so the patio can be enclosed if it's raining or chilly. Parking is the best! So convenient! Nice pool too! Would definitely recommend this unit.

Best on Beach!

I have stayed in this condo for the past 2 years (summer 2011 and 2012) and it is absolutely exceptional. Great furnishings, comfy beds, beautiful views, excellent rental company and the same lady has handled my rental both years and I could mot ask for better customer service. I just sent my request for booking 3 yrs in a row. My son loves pool and has ben fortunate to met and play with the same kids two years in a row. Wonderful family environment, quite and Fab!
