Celebrating our wedding anniversary for 4 nights. We visited wineries, did lots of hiking in state parks, enjoyed amazing meals & local music.Darla was a great host. Cottage is adorable & perfect for a couple. Itā€™s quiet & literally steps from 2 coffee shops, 3 restaurantsā€¦.

Everything in the cottage was beautiful, color coordinated. Darla thought of everything for the kitchen and bath. Top quality towels, bedding, comfortable beds, ceiling fans. Plus Darla is a lovely person, herself! The cottage was perfect for a couple.

It was fine, smells musty like it is old. Lack of AC was an issue for me, but I rented it knowing there wasn't any. No curtains on bedroom window didn't help with the heat or daylight coming in. Great location. A few cobwebs. Basics included. Only 1 set of bath towels was disappointing, but again I did not ask for extra.

Wonderful Getaway

We had a wonderful stay! The cottage was clean, well-kept, and in a perfect location for exploring all that Door County has to offer. Whether we were heading to nearby shops, restaurants, or outdoor adventures, everything was just a short drive away. The host was responsive and communicated clearly throughout our stay, which made everything even smoother. This was truly a perfect home base for our Door County trip, I wouldnā€™t hesitate to stay here again!

Darla's Forget Me Not Cottage was the perfect base for our Door County explorations. She was an exceptional host that shared her vast knowledge and love of the Door County Peninsula. We would not hesitate to book another stay.

Forget Me Not Cottage

Forget Me Not Cottage is very charming and comfortable. Owner Darla is welcoming and most hospitable. The nautical decor is delightful and we had everything we needed. Ellison Bay is much smaller and quieter than the other towns on Hwy 42 and we truly appreciated that. We highly recommend Forget Me Not Cottage.

Such a wonderful VRBO for 2! The decor is so unique and fun! The kitchen area is the perfect size to have breakfast and plan our next day activities. The bedroom is really cute and cozy with fun blue and white accent pieces. The sitting area with tv was a perfect place to relax in the evening after active days hiking, biking, golfing and more. The location is close to a few restaurants so you donā€™t have to get in the car after a long day. The host Darla was very helpful and gave us great suggestions.

Excellent Experience

The property was lovely. There are great amenities including a tv in the living room and lots of games. As the listing suggests, there is no air conditioning, but there are ceiling fans in the living room and bedroom which were enough to cool it down perfectly while we were there (upper 70s/lower 80s for daytime high temps). There are also has standing fans available to be used if needed which was a great additional consideration! The property is exceptionally clean and the decor is very well selected and perfect for the setting. The location is ideal for sightseeing being optimally located close to Washington Island to the north as well as other attractions to the south. It is on a relatively busy road but is set back far enough that you don't even notice the moderate trafic. It is attached to the owner's antique store, which I didn't realize until after we booked, but you also don't notice that at all once inside. It is set back a little from the store entrance so it's still very private and cozy. Overall it was a perfect place for my husband and I to stay while celebrating our first anniversary and we would definitely stay here again when visiting the area!

Great 3 Night Stay

Darla was great! Perfect location and couple get-away in Ellison Bay. Walking distance to the water, general store, and bar/restaurant. We stayed close after our daily adventures (winery, Washington Island). We will be back and just may stay here again. Thank you!

Wonderful stay in Ellison Bay

We spent 3 nights here during Fall Festival. It was clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. The location was perfect - a short walk to a couple restaurants but not in the middle of all the Sister Bay festival traffic. Although we've been coming to Door for many years - Darla gave us some helpful advice on when to avoid the major crowds over the Festival weekend. Only thing that was a little disappointing was no fire allowed in the fireplace. I get it, it can make a mess and if guests don't know how to work a flue it could be a problem. But that was a small thing - really great stay overall!

Perfect experience

I didn't know much about Door County, but couldn't have chosen a better place if I would have spent a month investigating. No bumper-to-bumper traffic or huge crowds, but you're minutes away from all the wonderful attractions in Door County. Very comfortable and relaxing. Neat places steps away. Mink Basin is remarkable with great food and serving neat Wisconsin beers. There's also a nice coffee shop and grocery store steps away. Also a nice park a few minutes away. Couldn't have been better. If this weren't available if we get to come back, I would alter our plans for when it is available.

Perfect getaway for our anniversary!

Our stay at the cottage in Ellison Bay was the perfect spot for our anniversary week trip. The property is well maintained and well equipped with anything you might need.
