The Cevennes form a mountain range forming part of the central massif, straddling the French departments of Lozère and Gard, extending to the south the Vivarais mountains located in Ardèche and Haute Loire, and to the north the mountains of Lacaune and L ' espinouse located partly in the Herald department.
The landscape remains marked by its past farming terraces for the cultivation of vines, olive trees, chestnuts and mulberry trees.
