Lovely cosy room

Lovely, beautifully decorated room and shower room. High quality bed linen and bathroom products. Entrance hall space for putting cases but really no practical clothes hanging space. Hooks in hall for coats would help.

I stayed here for a month whilst working in the area. A lovely charming very comfortable place which is furnished to a very high standard. Jo and Chris are delightful and keep the room immaculate.

Cosy, compact and comfortable!

Hosts were very friendly and helpful. The facilities were excellent including the generously stocked Nespresso corner. Very peaceful and comfortable overnight stay - bed was perfect. The property was spotless. We will definitely want to stay again!

A tranquil & friendly escape from the rat race but with good transport links

Property was very clean, beautifully decorated with high tech gadgets for WiFi / Charging / state of the art tv. Bed was very comfortable with clean, crisp white sheets and big comfy pillows. Lovely view onto a warmly-lit cottage garden & a very friendly dog! Owners couldn’t do enough for you when asked but left you to it when not, which made the whole visit enjoyable. With close links the M25 & A12 you would’ve assumed the property would be noisy but with the bedroom facing the back and thick double glazing at the front and secure gated driveway entrance you felt relaxed, safe & chilled. Tea, coffee, water, kettle, mini-fridge & ironing facilities cleverly packed into a compact Barn conversion. Bathroom was of a high standard boutique-hotel. Possibly could charge more, as worth it! Would stay again if I get the chance. Gets 5 *****‘s from me :)

Was a good choice for my situation

I would like to say I had an uneventful stay. No problems. I would like to point out that a TV in the room would be welcomed. A small microwave would also be good. You can heat water with the microwave therefore no real need for kettle etc. I would also like to see some safety handles in the shower for older folks that are not too stable on their feet in the shower.

Shenfield is a friendly, village on the outskirts of Brentwood with several independent shops, cafes, bars and restaurants, a cricket club, and a train station; we are within easy reach of London with regular fast trains operating 7 days per week.

Glanthams Lodge is one of the original buildings of Shenfield. Built around 1750, it used to be a bustling farm and in 1976 it earned its spot on the National Heritage list for England as a grade 2 listed building.
