About this property

Kurashiki DEN - Traditional House - Bikan Chiku

All Bedrooms are tatami mat with 1 bedroom on the ground floor overlooking a garden that historically, had been used as a waiting place for visiting tea ceremony guests. There is a kitchen/dining area and a full-Bath with western amenities and use of a washing machine on the 1st floor.

The 2nd Floor provides 2 adjoining bedrooms separated by sliding shoji screen doors and also includes a half-bath.

Kurashiki DEN is comprised of two restored adjoined houses; an older, historic side that is traditionally decorated and a newer contemporary modern house that is decorated accordingly.

Each of these sides is available individually or the entire property can be rented. If rented individually, the two sides are secured and separated by a locking door and each has their own front entrance from the street securing the privacy of each side as well as their own set of amenities such as baths and kitchen.

We are unique in Kurashiki because we are one of very few entire house rentals you will find in the Bikan Historic District. This space is ideally suited for families and small groups.

Lovely Traditional Rental

Kurashiki is a lovely town to explore, and this rental has great access to most parts of town. The hosts were very kind, and met when we arrived. They showed us around the house and made us feel comfortable. I would recommend this place for the experience of a traditional Japanese home in Kurashiki.

Pibajo

We liked the place because of his authenticity. The ceilings were pretty low though and the futons pretty flat but that was part of the experience.
