This property was amazing for our family vacation. We loved the fireplace, the kitchen amenities and the chance to see lots of elk on the property. Excellent place for kids and adults. Would book again.
This is our second visit to this cabin. Great location, close to everything fun to do with family. Large living space and outside porch that we could gather comfortably. Great owners! We will be back!
The place is very charming! Eight of us fit very comfortably, flexible living/seating areas, lots of games and books, great location halfway between the Estes downtown and the RMNP east entrance
Perfect location for a RMNP vacation. Spacious and immaculate with western charm. Fully outfitted for families who want to both enjoy the beauty of the Rockies and also have a comfortable place to return for a peaceful evening enjoying mountain views on the large well-furnished patio, or using the fun game room. We took advantage of a well-stocked kitchen to cook, grill, and enjoy the time together. The Ponderosa cabin vacation will be a wonderful lifetime memory!
We spent 5 days in Estes Park and absolutely loved our stay! It was comfortable, clean, great communication, and was great for a large family of young kids (ages 3-9) and adults. Highly recommend!
Almost a 100 years old, extremely charming cabin which is very clean & very well maintained.
We loved our stay at the ponderosa!!
Extremely helpful tips on local restaurants, hikes & stores as shared by the property manager Laura, who is an absolute delight to work with.
The 100 year old cabin was beautiful with lots of rooms for the kids to enjoy (Fooz ball, ping pong, an art area). The outdoor patio was lovely, & the view of the mountains from the kitchen sun room was stunning.
Our family agrees that this was a great place for our reunion! The kids played table tennis before they even unpacked. My daughter and her husband loved the "cozy" room downstairs. The town was charming, although the construction was confusing.
My group of friends had the loveliest time in this home, it was clean, adorable, and had so many quaint features / decorations / rooms to utilize. The host went out of her way to make us feel prepared for our trip and welcome when we arrived. Communication was seamless and she was truly a wonderful host. We would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to any family / large group of friends!
This home is roomy, close to town & activities. Only 3-4 min. to the main strip of stores, 10 min. to the entrance of Rocky mountain park. Had plenty of room for the 10 of us. The hide away room is a cool touch (bedroom, bathroom & washer/dryer)
The kids were addicted to the ping pong table & not their phones for 5 days. Host was easily reachable.
Our family shared this home with our friends and it was a perfect vacation. Together we had 4 adults and 5 kids (ages 9 to 14). The kids loved the ping pong and foosball tables. The adults loved the separate areas for us to sit and talk. The location is close to RMNP and the YMCA of the Rockies.
My daughter forgot her favorite necklace during our checkout and Laura found it while cleaning and was kind enough to deliver it to us in Loveland. We will definitely rent this home again.
Property manager, Laura, was very responsive and extremely friendly and helpful. We were thrilled with the property and would go back there in a heartbeat. The fifth bedroom was a bit of a surprise insofar as it was not accessible from the main house, but the folks who elected to sleep there loved it. There were flashlights that made the access possible.
The main house was fantastic, the kitchen was stocked with everything imaginable, the appliances were perfect, and everything was clean and spotless when we arrived.
In sum, we loved it and are delighted that we stayed there.
The Ponderosa was perfect for our two families who stayed here together (total of 12 people). The main living room is far more spacious than the pictures convey, and the other rooms give plenty of space to spread out and enjoy time together (or apart). We also greatly appreciated the well stocked kitchen, as we prepped meals for 12 easily throughout our stay.
Having spent time in Estes before, we also really appreciated the location of the cabin. It is a perfect spot to get into downtown Estes and also quick to get into the primary entrance to RMNP.
For anyone hoping to do major online activity at the cabin, be aware that the Wi-Fi speed is relatively slow (max 10mbps). Serviceable for basics (didn’t cause us any problems since we weren’t attempting to work or stream video), but be aware. Also note that the cabin can get warm if the weather is hot, but there are ample, high quality fans supplied that help keep it cool.
Finally, on top of a great cabin and location, the host (Laura) is a great communicator and very kind/personable. Given the opportunity, we would love the chance to return to this great spot!
We enjoyed staying at the property. A couple of comments although such limitations may have been considered in pricing. Yet since I am not familiar with Colorado and the area, and it would have been good to know in advance of booking. Access to property at top of a steep hill should be called out for aged occupants. Only 1 very small TV in living room. No AC. While we walked into town, there are no sidewalks so was dangerous with cars passing with some visibility issues on the road. Calling this out and mentioning a bus would have been nice. Washing maching location also difficult to access for older occupants. This information would have been useful

Hi Linda,
I’m glad you enjoyed your stay and am sorry you had trouble with accessibility. I do feel that our listing photos and description accurately represent the home and property. I wanted to address a couple of your concerns for future guests who might be curious. There is a paved driveway that comes to within 50 feet of the main entrance. The driveway is no steeper than many roads in the area and does not require 4WD or AWD. There is a 32” smart TV in the family room. Like most homes in the area, there is no AC as it is generally not needed. The house can be cooled by opening windows at night (it gets quite cool at night) and lowering shades during the day. The upstairs bedrooms all have ceiling fans and we provide multiple box fans for use throughout the house. The washer and dryer are located under the house along with the bedroom and bathroom that are accessible from an outside entrance. Stone steps original to the house lead down to these quarters, so we do not recommend this room for those with limited mobility. Unfortunately, there is not a sidewalk into town, so you do have to be mindful of cars, but it is a frequently walked street, so it certainly doable.
This house is as advertised. It was a perfect place to have the whole family. Has a great view of the mountains, great location in estes park, and we loved the old school cabin feel. The Foosball table and ping pong table are a great touch, we used them alot.
We had a great stay with a group of friends at Ponderosa! It’s location was perfect for getting into the park while also convenient to stores and restaurants in Estes Park. Would definitely stay here again!
For the last decade we've traveled in to Estes. Our adult children and their spouses/ friends plan all year for this trip. The Ponderosa has a wonderful host, great proximity to downtown, and very relaxing in the evening and inclement weather!
House is very much as shown in pictures. Lots of room for gathering in large and smaller groups. Beautiful outdoor patio as well. Hosts very responsive to questions during our stay.
